    This is incredibly! I’ve watch so many videos on how to do this. The wait time of 20 minutes has given me more success. I can not even begin to tell you how many failed attempts I’ve had. Hundreds of dollars in resin.
    I have made huge messes and hours of cleaning things up after an attempt. I’m so impressed how carful and meticulous and seemly effortless you do this. I think maybe I saw one drop on you paper. You have really mastered the art. Your work is beautiful. I aspire to you that one day I’ll get the hang of this and have success. Thank you Nancy,

      Ohh Nancy, thank you for your kind words but I feel your pain. It took me a good 6 months of trial and error to get any kind of lacing, and I'm still figuring out what works and what doesn't.
      If I wait till my resin is nice and thick like cold honey, I get the best results. Thicker seems to hold the cells without them blurring (as long as you don't heat it too much with the heat gun or a torch).
      Best of luck finding your sweet spot! I know you'll get there 😉

      Your technique is amazing 👏
      Have you ever used the ocean coat by just resin?
      It's thick... would you still wait until it gets more thicker?

      I so hear you!! I’ve ruined so many pieces by the last steps of the waves!! Cannot tell you how frustrated I was! She makes it look so perfect and with such ease…I could only hope! I think my problem is the resin I use. But then waiting for it to thicken up, then sometimes it just won’t blow out…I feel your pain!!!

    I have seen many others use different blues in order to achieve that transition from shallow to deep, but simply blending the one colour with the clear looks much more natural, the lacing looks great too, well done.

How can this realism be achieved with a 1 cm thick chemical layer and a few colors of pigment? miraculous effect. gorgeous and unique. and also being able to do this every time. Love the waves! I've been struggling to get better defined waves like yours . When you applied the 2nd blue layer, did you make up the white resin (applied at 7 minutes) at the same time so that it had gone "off" for 20 minutes before using? This would make sense to me as I've used white resin immediately after blue and the two just merge into a blob. Any advice would be most welcome, thanks.

    • @Procrastipainter
      @Procrastipainter  3 года назад

      Thank you 🥰 I know how frustrating that is! I'm using titanium white pigment paste from Just Resin. It's likely to be more pigmented and possibly heavier than the alcohol ink, which helps with the cells. FYI I've done a few comparison videos of different whites on the market if you're interested? There might be one you already have or can get easily?

    Why do you wait 20 min before you add the white. Do you let the white sit for 20 min or mix up fresh white? It also appears you do not warm the resin on the board before you add the white. Correct?

    • @Procrastipainter
      @Procrastipainter  2 года назад +1

      I wait for the resin to thicken like cold honey. It holds the cells better. I mix one lot at the beginning that all sits for the same time to thicken. I only briefly pop bubbles with a torch, no warming intended

    What was the pretreatment you applied to the surface? Could you paint with a gloss acyclic paint or oil base stain? (I am asking becauseI have left over product I want to use up.)

    Beautiful 🌊💙 Absolutely love the fact that you use a spoon ! I use the same method! For preciseness and control and the fact that you don’t let any resin drip to waste! 👏🏻

      It's a no-brand 2000W with high and low flow, 50-600C variable temperature. Without knowing that your specific issue is, I can't really help much, sorry

    So do you mix up the white resin and let it sit in the cup for 20 mins? Wouldn't the make it over heat and harden?

    • @Procrastipainter
      @Procrastipainter  3 года назад

      If it was a lot of resin in the cup, yes. But I only put enough to cover the bottom of the cup (maybe 1/4 inch deep) so it doesn't really cure that much faster than the stuff already on the piece
