Okay you are going to be included in the Book I'm writing for my book I'll be writing for this spring. I'll stay tuned.
So gorgeous. I love them
Thanks 😀
Beautiful result. I have no trouble getting the cells, but mine seems to degrade as the resin sets - I am fastidious about having my board level, and I don’t know why I can’t retain the cells 😢
Me encantan tus colores
Such a great example. Kind of you to share your tips
My pleasure!
Thankyou xx
Lovely work
Thank you :)
I just learned so much from today. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world!
So glad!
The cells are amazing! Struggling with those :(
Keep trying!
That is awesome
Both of your projects came out great! Didn’t think you could get such results with a blow dryer!
Thanks! Sometimes I use a heat gun, but I feel like the blow dryer works just fine.
Haven’t seen such beautiful results with a hair dryer!!
They both turned out so well… can’t wait to see more tutorials!!
Much love from Brisbane, Australia. ♥️♥️🇦🇺
More to come!
Hattie, I need to apologise, I have no idea how my previous comment ended up on your video (I've deleted it now). Really sorry.
However, the universe works in mysterious ways and there was obviously a reason we crossed paths.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE your board! Your waves are absolutely hypnotic, I half expect them to keep rolling across the wood! The finished result is divine, great work!! ❤
I'm glad you found my video 🙂 thanks for the nice comments!
The top of the board isn't flat though. Why not flood coat? Sealing with dewaxed shellac will make the grain pop before coating.
Beautiful!!! Love the cells. You listed everything you used except for the white and type of resin.
Thanks! I will add on the white. I used Super Clear Epoxy for this pour.
I don't see the white listed either but I'm assuming it's Alumilite's white, like the others.
I got it on there now, Thanks!
@Hattie Houston Designs ooo hey I was right! 😆 Thank you for listing! Your work is gorgeous 🫶
So beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Did you tape off the back of the board? I noticed you didn’t have any drips that needed to be sanded etc.
Lovely 😍!
Thank you! 😊
Its so so so beautiful
Did you prepare that wooden board with first layer ?
Thanks! I sanded to board to 220 before I poured my 1st layer.
Do you mix with white with epoxy and resin or just do the white paste itself for the waves?
The white pigment is mixed in with epoxy.
Awesome !!!!
just watched this for the second time - this is a GREAT instructional video. Your waves are absolutely perfect.
If you have a layer of clear between your white and blue, it helps it not blend as much. Sometimes, it still happens. If you overwork your wave, you will end up blending.
Marvelous .❤❤
Which one better. To use Hair dryer Or Heat gun?
So pretty really perfect ❤
Thank you! 😊
Your Colors and Waves are so beautiful! How do you get away with no drips on the back? Even when I tape the back with painters tape... the drips still collect. Is there something you use? I just love your work!!
Thanks! I do get drips on the back, I sand them off after it is dried.
Do you need to treat the wood with anything before you put resin?
No, I don't treat the wood.
would this work on a bamboo board does anyone know im in the U.K The Isle of Wight
Yes, you should be able to use bamboo boards.
Does the air that is blown have to be hot? I am looking to do this on a much smaller scale and am wondering if using a straw or an airbrush would work.
No, the air does not need to be hot. The heat helps with the bubbles, but you can use a torch for those. Using a straw works great for small projects.
I never seem to get the white think enough
Looks amazing! What kind of white are you using? I’m a beginner and I have failed so many times on making the waves. Does it matter what kind of resin and inks you use to make the ocean look so good? Thank you for posting your video.
Don't give up! It takes some time to get the waves to look just how you want them to. In the video description I linked most of the things I use if you want to check them out. I haven't used any other brands of resin for my ocean pours, so I am not sure the different results. You can try practicing on smaller boards until you get the look you like. It might help save a little bit of money. Good luck!
@@hattiehoustondesigns Thank you so much! I can use all the advice I can get. My fingers crossed for the next one I try.
What kind of paint did you use? BTW beautiful art work
Thanks! In the description of the video I linked the different dyes that I used.
What sort of wood is it and do you have to seal it with anything before pouring the resin.
This particular board is black walnut, I did not seal it before the pour. It was sanded to 220 and I used cutting board oil after it dried.
What are using to protect yourself from vapors ?
I use a 3M brand mask for vapor and dust, I'll link it for you.
Vapor and Dust Mask amzn.to/42K8eBb
Does that resin smell really bad? Great work by the way.
The resin does have a smell to it, but I use a mask when I pour. I suggest you do the same.

Does the art get damaged if one actualy chops on the board
I wouldn't recommend cutting on the resin art. It will damage it or chip it. You can turn the board over onto a towel and use the backside for cutting.
Bonjour il serait bien de mettre des sous titres en français. Je vous en remercie. A bientot
Hattie, what is the resin you used please?
Hi, I use Super Clear Epoxy, there is a link in the description.
I love the waves and cells! I still can't get my cells to look like that.
Keep trying!! It takes a little practice.
Will the art get damaged if someone actually chops anything on it
You lost your entire first wave. If we want to keep our in tact then should we lay the clear on to a cured blue wave and then put the line? These are exquisite btw!
seal wood before epoxy resin is applied...always..
SO PERFECT 🌊🫶🏽
Thank you!
Why your resin mixture is sooooo thick
This resin has a quicker setup time. It will get thicker and thicker the longer it takes me to pour.
Nice work !! How much does the resin cost? And where do you buy it? @@hattiehoustondesigns
Bonjour. Pourquoi désactive les sous titres. Vous ne pensez pas aux personnes qui vous regardent. Dommage. Pourriez vous faire cet effort. Je vous en remercie
Sans sous titre difficile de s abonner donc je ne m abonné pas
beautiful....but your waves be backwards.
They are so not? Are you a resin artist? What do you even mean “backwards”? These two pieces especially the main ones are as close to perfect as they can be. These would be snapped up quickly on any online store or market …
