Hey! How do you give finishing touch up to resin work?
@@Akshitagarg1997 Are the 2 white pigments MIXED with resin, or do you just apply them straight to the existing resin?
@Thor
Yes! The whites must be mixed with resin, first!
Thank God I found this video! I already wasted a liter of Resin figuring out how can I get those cells! And you have exactly mentioned my struggles, with my ink going down. I'll try your advise and hopefully I will get this wave and cells right! 🙏
THANK YOU!!! conundrum sorted
Thank you for sharing this. It is very informative especially as a newly. My cats have Bengal in them and are also chatty! Piglet was chatting back!!
I LOVE that you show us your mistakes and let us learn with you. MOST helpful video I've watched so far (and I've watched a lot of em)
Thank you so much. This really helped. I'm making 12 serving tray centerpieces and just can't get the cells.
What’s that shiny rainbow bit in the third blue one u showed ? Looks like lightning I want that effect. Good job!
can I use either a heat gun or blowtorch? You seem to use both, one after the other. I dont want the expense at first
Hi, I use the heat gun because of the way it moves the resin. It also pops bubbles. Once I’m done moving the resin where I want it, I switch to the torch to pop the bubbles that continue to rise to the top, because it won’t move the resin. You can use any tool you want to move the resin, spatula, hair dryer or even your fingers. It’s all about what you like best.
Please do more vids where you explain your thinking.
Cat chat is fine!
I love to hear people describing their thought process.
I find any videos with music are off putting as I rarely enjoy the music!
So please talk away! 👍🤪
Thank you so very much for this video! I have been trying over and over to get this effect right, adding silicon or alcohol, and none of it comes out like this, This is exactly the type of video I was looking for, I'm very grateful you took the time to explain this to us beginners!
How long do you leave the white resin before you blow out the waves for the effect
Girlfriend I put your channel on while I’m doing my artsy things and let your videos run.. I hope you get to the monetizing ASAP because you definitely have the resin art mojo!!! 💯💯💯. And 😻that kitty Cheddar too 😹😹😹
I just found your channel and I'm hooked, You really do a great job!!
Thanks for the pointers - I made 4 awesome coasters purely by accident by mopping up all the wasted resin and mixed blue and green - can I send any images to you to look at?! I have bought castin’ craft and piñata alcohol ready for the next attempt and also craft resin 1:1 - thanks
Sure, resin as you wish has a FB page - you can message me from there
Thank you so much for the info. Yours is the first video to show the actual technique rather than just showing off your talent. Thank you for talking about things like resin thickness which turns out to be a major factor in how the piece reacts tp ink and turns out. Now if someone would just let the public know that YOU HAVE TO LET THE RESIN SIT to acquire the thickness needed to control the pour, we will all be grateful. But you are AWESOME. Love your tutorials.
Thank you for explaining in the manner you did with visuals of the mistakes we make and the correct way and amount of resin to pour for waves. It surely makes sense. You are the first video I watched that really made it click. I’m so excited to continue doing beach scenes and getting my waves right. I really appreciate you sharing this.🤗♥️
Holy power tip Batman! So helpful!!!
I am currently working on a large beach resin project and am using castin craft with alcohol ink for the waves. Also coasters to match. Could you pretty please tell me how much resin to use to castin craft? I would be eternally greatful!!!
Still cells seen to appear OCCASIONALLY, that you can't predict will they be coming, or not.
Great tip on making waves and cells! What setting do you have the heat gun? Cool? Hot? Medium? 1 - 5?
Love the way ur explaining the waves, I watched a lot of resin videos and as u said no one really tells you the small details that makes it really pop thank u🥰🥰🥰
How much alcohol ink and castin craft do you add? Also, do you wait until it’s a certain viscosity ?
Wow this video is super helpful! Thank you so much 😊 definitely no other will mention how thickness can be “responsible “ for designs disappear:(( plus not necessarily to waste all that expensive resin ! Thank you again 🙌🏻
Agreed! You’ve taught me the most during my new journey with resin! Love Cheddar too! 💕
Exactly. I wasted so much resin/$$$ not knowing re. thickness.
What color was the blue an how mix?? Also thank you thank you I learned more from this video then all others I watched. I am from Greenwood Indiana
gourdhead22 hi, it’s Prussian blue by liqitex - there is a link to it in the comments of the video. This is acrylic Ink so I put drops in my clear resin until I was happy with the color- I live that blue! Thanks for watching!
Still no cells 🤦 I've done everything and tried all new products except for the resin. I'm thinking that's got to be it
Great tips. Thanks.
My 2. CAT'S are almost non vocal.
Happy to hear the cat! Love the way each one turned out, Thanks for sharing!
Thanks very much for this, really informative and helpful. I've had a few tries with cells and lacing using floetrol, silicone oil and acrylic paint in the resin but with no results, so today i'll be in the shed trying this out. Our 2 cats are talkative too, i think people that talk to their cats from kittenhood end up with more talkative cats. Liked and subbed :)
Thank you so much, this was the best and easiest explanation
Where do you buy the moulds please? Are they shiny? Thank you
Your cat just wants your attention. 😉👍🏼
Thank you, this is very helpful!
Can we make cells with resin white pigment and not alcohol ink?
You should be honored with ballons and a parade! I have watched video after video trying to understand what i was doing wrong. Thankyou so much for a clear upfront explanation.
Thank you for taking the time to explain your methods and why you do them. It makes more sense to me now. I am still new to resin.
I love the way you’ve explained this!!! I’m new to resin crafting and am having such a hard time creating the cells but I’m so excited to implement your techniques!! Thanks!! I’m now a new subscriber to you!!
Fascinated w u style and ideas ! Awesome !thanks for sharing🙏🙏🙏❤️
I’ve done a few seascapes now and had success and hadn’t occurred to me the depth of the resin effects it! I’ve only done it on boards so probably why they worked well!!
Loved this video! Going to try your suggestions today. Also subscribing to your channel. Thanks so much! 👍🏽
Did you mix alcohol ink with resin?
So informative! Thank you so much for doing this video
I love informational videos like this! I got into Resin making a few months ago. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing with all of us!
I'm very new to resin and I have just learnt alot from this video. Infact I learn lots from all of your videos! There is so much I want to try out now. The real 'aha' moment was realising that I have been pouring my resin to thick. Please don't stop making these videos!
What the heck is that stuff on your reject that is such a beautiful rainbow?????????
Noooo!!!! I never want this video to end! I am right at the part of resin where I need such helpful tips. I appreciate them so much. I am glad I just found you and subscribed. I will have to make sure I watch every one of your videos. I tend to shy away from videos without talking, because I am here to learn everything I can before I do it. I have all supplies except regular white alcohol ink. Even if your videos do not have the talking instruction and tips, I will watch them. I have a bounty spastic kitty at home, I don’t mind you talking to your babies 🐱 during tutorials!
I'm working on a project where I will walk through how to do it, it is a heat foil that is used for cardstock and paper crafts, i decided to give it a try on cured resin (between layers) and it works beautifully
Resin As You Wish embossing ink with powders works good too. Omg there’s sooo many things!
Thank you so much for sharing!! I have been wondering what the heck I was doing wrong! 🤪
Hi! Do you add resin to the casting craft and alcohol ink? :)
I'm wondering the same thing. Hope she answers :)
Yes! One ALWAYS mixes in white pigment with resin, first!
Love all your videos! Would love if you talked through making a galaxy coaster.
angel 612 I can work on one, are you thinking the multi colored galaxy with pink, orange, gold, aqua, blue and purple- or the spiral galaxy?
Resin As You Wish I think I’ve watched every one you’ve done and I love them all!
Resin As You Wish I’d enjoy a spiral galaxy video. I haven’t seen that technique on here.
Resin As You Wish I understood the Spiral Galaxy. It’s the multi layered, multiple colors with the micro beads I’d love a talk-thru on 💖💯💯💯🤩🤩🤩
Wear PPEs when using epoxy resin!
I really need some help. I tried To do a cutting board for my sister , but I can't do the stupid lace in the White of the waves, I don't know why , please help
1. What white are you using 2. Heat gun? And 3. Check out my heat gun tips video - it has some more helpful tips about wave making. One thing that I have come across is if the viscosity of your resin is too thick, you can’t get the white to spread into it.
@@ResinAsYouWish hello again , I use the résine and hardener half/half, and I use acrylic paint white , I purchased a heat gun and the heat was perfect but the wind , the blowing part was very week , so I tried with my air dryer, and it’s a little to week at medium and to hard at maximum,
You think that my résine is to thick ,you may be very right , what can I do to make it more thin ?
I did a little bit of acrylic pouring and to make cels I added 3 drops of celicone,
So what can I do to make this better , thank you for helping me , it’s a honour for me, you do beautiful work , I love everything you do .
I have watched a few of your videos and really like your work however, I have noticed that you don't seem to wear a mask when heating the resin. Resin is toxic and can have a detrimental affect on your health - your lungs in particular.
Yes, and thank you for mentioning it. I usually wear them mask all winter, but you see me without it when I have the garage door open while I’m working. But I should get in the habit of always doing it
Gorgeous waves with amazing lace effects! Thank you so much for this :). Question: Could we use metallic alcohol inks in the cell activator resin layer, like silver, gold or bronze, instead of white? By adding them to just clear resin, without other metallic pastes or pigments. Have you tried this? I think that the bright gold lace would look stunning against that beautiful saphire blue!
Love it the Castin Craft just sinks :(
Great explanation... can you share how many drops of casting craft and white alcohol ink you used per 1 to 2 ounces of resin
Hi, I don't measure it, but I use about one oz of resin, with a pearl size bead of Castin' Craft with 4-5 drops of the alcohol ink. I always shoot for 4 drops but end up with 5 and I haven't noticed any change in how the cells work.
Great vid, learned so much ♡♡♡
Wow ... Thank you SO MUCH! I can already tell you have just saved me SO much frustration and botched projects 😅🙌 definitely not something I would have though about/considered being a culprit
Great video - thanks a lot. Will look at all your videos now!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Because of you I found out I am using Entirely too much resin, and you are right, nobody mentions that! I cannot wait to try again and hopefully get a defined wave, well mine just kept sinking and turning into clouds. So
Is there a specific type of pigment that I need to use to get the cells
Yes, here is a video on the different pigments: ruclips.net/video/sCeimEgqz60/видео.html
I seriously learned what mistakes I made. Ty
Hello
I love watching you work! I am very glad that you explained the thickness of the resin! Nobody else has ever explained that. I have a question for you. When you put your weight on to do a wave, do you let your white thicken up before you put it on?
How much castincraft and how much alcohol ink?
I use a dime size drop of the castin craft and 4-6 drops of alcohol in about 1 oz of resin
that cat got my attention. i was looking around my room at first!! thank you for your video. very informative and to the point. will be using some of the techniques you showed.
Thank you very much for your help, I appreciate it it so much! I was loosing my mind. LOL
Thank you for explaining the depths and differences! Like you said, it's completely overlooked in most of the other tutorials out there and the first time I tried to do the beach waves (literally the first resin project I did) they didn't come out quite how they were supposed to. They still look decent though. Thanks again!
Thank you so so much I have tried the waves with only opaque white but the waves did not come like the way they should. But now I am going to try with alcohol ink thank you once again.
So many people watch videos and wonder why they can't get their pieces out if the mold. It would be important to tell people not to use a heat gun on silicone molds. Almost every mold comes with that warning because sooo many people are ruining there expensive molds!
I love what you are teaching but please tell me you are doing this outside. If you are helping new resin users then you should be wearing a respirator mask. I only heated resin twice very quickly and I had a cough for 4 weeks. 🌷
This is an EXCELLENT point, and I"m glad you brought it up. When i did this, I have a tent in the garage, with a mesh top, I open the garage door when I"m not using a respirator, and usually I can't open it, which is another reason I don't usually talk in my videos - the answer is voice over - I will have to learn that. Anyway, the air flow was good, but even so, I still think it's best to wear the mask.
Resin As You Wish, I just want you safe. I have PTSD and I love resin. So I refuse to look up what it can do. I just try to follow the known PPE rules. I am going to build myself a screen tent for outside. It isn’t fair to my husband or my four little puppies to do this in my art room inside. I am glad you were outside. Thank you. 🌷
I agree with the respirator I’m a registered nurse by trade and resin dabbler by fun to destress however the resin thing is fairly new to me during this pandemic I started finding a respirator was more of a challenge than expected after I sent my husband to Home Depot and paint stores for a respirator to no avail went onto amazon and they won’t sell them unless your a health care on front lines of covid so my dilemma was yes I’m a nurse on front lines but the respirator I want is not really for covid but for resin ..... but ..... i can’t find one anywhere and especially if you sand the resin I’ve used my N95 but not good enough so I decided if I’m not healthy because of resin then more susceptible and if I’m not de stressing with resin..... then nobody will benefit haha so I did get the respirator 🙃 it was quite the ordeal I tell you I thought I was going to have to give up my first born!
Lots of thanks for this video....
It really points out the difference how the outcome changes with a little more resin!!! I was always wondering where I was going wrong... please make a similar kind of video about the blooming techniques in resin....i am still struggling a lot with that.... love your work 💞
I’m really amazed of your video. I watched every single moment of it. Trust me I scroll up most of the videos i seen. I enjoyed every second of it. Thank you so much . Definitely I’m gonna subscribe you and follow all your videos . Many blesses mwah ❤️🙏🏻😘
Answers my question!! I am doing my first deep pour project and was struggling to create a lacing effect. Tried finding an answer on RUclips but did not find anything specific. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Excellent tutorial. Have you used mica powder instead of alcohol as a coloring agent and conducted similar testing?
I love Bengals! Used to take care of several of them, even had some stay in my home for socialization. They’re SO sweet, very talkative, just, unlike any other breed!
Amazingly informative video! Thank you for sharing your beautiful creations & "learnable ones".
Thank you for this video. It's very detailed and explains a lot. I'm fairly new to resin pouring and still trying to figure out how to get the effects I want. My question is ... At around 9:20, you used one of your resin coasters to demonstrate one of the white effects. On the back side you showed what happens when you stir the white too much, no cells. Underneath the white there was a little stripe of another pigment that had a gorgeous color shift. Do you recall the name of that pigment or what it is? I love it. Thanks again.
Love this channel! Thankyou for making these videos.
What are u spraying over them as u go ?
hi, it's a torch
What kind of white paint did you use?
hi, Here is what I used, it is a mixture and these links are also in the video description (for future reference if needed) WHITE (mixture of Castin’ craft with a couple drops of the alcohol ink):
Castin Craft white: amzn.to/3e0MYfB
Alcohol ink white: amzn.to/38ttAGZ
My kitty's a chatty Cathy too, He looks alot like yours, my spoiled baby 🐱. Cant wait to try your tips Thank you! 😁
I've finally figured this one out after many flubs. I wish I had seen this video months ago!
Thanks 🙏🏼
Thank you very much to share your experiences 🙏🏻🙏🏻🌺💝 you are a creative artist 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Hello kitty...
Thank you!
Thanks, I paid for an online class last summer, and I never get the mixing with the alcohol ink or these techniques, so I assume that I was doing something wrong, paid for expensive whites and resin, and finally give up. Thanks so much to share means a lot
Thank you so much, I am failing consistently on making waves. I have watched many videos and still have not got it down. Your tips were helpful and I will keep trying!!
Thank you so much I was wondering how come one time I can do it and the next time I can’t I had no idea it had to do with the thickness of my resin so thank you thank you thank you what a wonderful tutorial.
Thank you very much, this is exactly what I needed to learn! 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks!
Amazing discovery! Thank you so much for making this video! It helps a lot😊
I am learning a lot watching your videos thank you so much for your videos
Thank you so much for the detailed video. And for the links to what to buy that was a huge help!!!
OMG, thank you so freaking much! I'm as happy as I can be now 🥹 I'm new to resin and I tried so many times to make waves and 3d blooms but I couldn't get the effect, and now I understand why and can't wait to try it again 😍 besides no one talking about how u need a thin layer for better results, I never understood that u need to mix the alcohol ink with the white pigment paste to get that effect, might be the language barrier since I'm italian and there aren't that many videos in italian, but of the 4000 videos I watched about this, no one ever specifically said that u need to use the alcohol too, so really, thank you so so so much ❤️
Great video and information on the waves with resin helped me understand
😊😊
Hi, what temperature is your heat gun set for when working with Cells?
Thank you for this
❤❤❤
Thanks I been trying to figure out a fool proof way to get cells and lacing and I have both things you showed
Thanks good info and you can stop the over flow by wiping off the underside drips the dripping keeps pulling your resin off does the same with paint.
Wow
love your video, could you show us how to do have on a ceramic tile, having trouble torching the white, thank you
