From my experience with resin. When I get those dimples from silicone , I use a piece of fine sanding paper over those dimples then add another layer of resin for a smooth coat .
🤯You just did a Dutch pour base with dragon scales in RESIN! I had no idea that could be done in resin. I thought the base coat was beautiful. Looked like the Aurora Borealis. Great thing about resin is that you can do another layer. You can't do that with an Acrylic pour. I'm stunned and amazed. I have 3-in-one sitting on my art desk as we speak. Thank you SO much for stating the dangers of alcohol and heat. You're entirely correct. Alcohol can be burning and you almost can't see it. Safety first! I also can't believe the difference between scales with the 3-in-one and the alcohol (70% won't work, by the way, at least not well. Needs to be between 91 and 99.9%). Another safety tip ... DO NOT torch the bubbles until both the alcohol and the 3-in-one have completely evaporated, or you'll set your work on fire and likely, won't see it. Silicone oil does the same on acrylics paints. If you want to paint over it for decorate purposes, or coat it in gesso to do-over, you must remove the silicone or absolutely nothing will stick. I use baby wipes all the time to clean resin, but I didn't know you could get alcohol wipes. Good to know! BTW, this is a super long video and I normally don't have the patience for these, but this video is worth watching! I almost always bypass any video more than 15 minutes (only because I've worked with resin and acrylic paints and wood for decades now), but I watched this till the end! Every minute of it. That says something. I still can't believe what I'm seeing. You are able (because it's resin) to do a multi-layer Dutch pour and get cells .... IN RESIN! These are my colors and watching you combine acrylic pouring techniques in resin actually made me want to cry. it's so beautiful and GENIUS! Do you KNOW how GOOD you are??! Did you know you were doing a Dutch pour and then dragon scales, or did you just go with whatever and found it works? I'm very curious to know. I turn pens and I would love to be able to figure out how to get this on a pen blank. Almost impossible, honestly. Has to be done on a round surface for anywhere from a slimline (9 mm thick at the most ) to the larger pens that require a 3/8 inch tube. You're brilliant, that's already been established. I've been trying to figure out how to do something like this on a tube to accommodate a 9mm finished pen. Any ideas how to make this appear on all sides in the round for a pen?
Thank you for putting up the 😽 It scared the crap out of me when I heard your cat because I have this weird surround sound on my tablet that makes it sound like it's not coming from whatever I'm watching. I can't tell you how many times I've had to mute because of it. Your cat sounded so close to mine but off enough that it made me think he was really sick and my other cat even went looking for him very concerned. You saved me having to get up to look for him I wish more people would be that considerate. Thanks again and I loved the video!❤
Mind blown! I wish I could give you 2 thumbs up! Thank you for teaching me something new. I had no idea silicone oil can be used with resin! You have motivated me to step outside my comfort zone and try something different. Thanks again.
Oh my gosh! I'm learning as much as I can before getting into working with rsin and you just opened a whole new door for what is possible. I'm used to seeing cells in Acrylic pours but I had no idea you could do it with resin!! I'm so glad youtube recommended you!!! These are amazing!
I’m allergic to those gloves so I took a chance and bought the gloves on TUME it was the best seven dollars I ever invested. I absolutely love them. Resin comes right off. Paint comes right off. I got them a month ago and I’m still using them with no rips or nothing. They look brand new You should try to invest in them. They will save you a lot of money on buy those blue rubber gloves. I guarantee if you don’t like them I will buy you a box of blue ones 😊 PS I like to see people wearing gloves some people don’t I hope you wear a mask too😊
Thank you so much for this extremely helpful tutorial. You give such detailed information and it really makes a difference for those of us learning to create! The pieces are absolutely gorgeous and your colour combinations are perfect! I also wish I could give you two thumbs up!
You have given us a booklet of information in this video. It is not only very appreciated but also very good to know for many different uses and it’s very cool!
Thank you thank you thank you! I just began toying with Acrylic resin a month or so ago and never would have considered an hour long video, but after a break will finish the last 20 minutes. I'm more impressed with the quality of your work than the silicone -vs- 91% alcohol. Really special. I did learn quite a bit though, I'll admit. Funny - the text editor reads your dotter tool as a "daughter tool"
This was such a brilliant tutorial. I have silicone oil, but gave up trying it as kept messing up. I had no idea you could use a dotting tool to apply it. I didn't know you could use alcohol like that either. Wow! Two items that I actually have on the shelf that can totally transform my resin! Thank you so much for taking the time to share all this knowledge. Your work is outstanding. Much appreciated x ❤
I have various percentages of IPA, but that's probably the only one of these I'd try. I don't have any silicone oil (i jave mineral oil) but I'm always looking to up my resin game. Thanks for sharing!
Please tell me I wasn't the only one screaming in my head for five minutes, "There's a speck of debris in that coaster. Why doesn't she see that speck of debris?!" Only to see 51:46 and be like "Oh, thank God!!" Thank you for all these informative videos. Everything I've seen you do is just stunning. Your color choices are amazing! 💖🤩
So so happy for firsttime I saw you, I´ve learn a lot with your teaching. Once put 5 drops inmy color esin, mixed it... it didn´t give me te efects. SO THANK YOU SO MUCH.
These are beautiful. But I must say the closed captions were hilarious. Instead of putting the dotter in the resin, the captions said to put your daughter in resin. Please do not put your daughter in resin no matter what the captions say.
Love all of the pieces. I just dont know which is which. Im so confused between what was used with all the fumbling on what was used with what. Lol I guess that means im gonna have to try and make it both ways. Lol. Tfs your beautiful art.
Is there a reason to using 91% alcohol? Does 99% have a different effect vs 70%? New to the art of pouring resin and trying to learn as much as possible which RUclips is helping tremendously. Thanks for your tutorial. Opens the mind to all kinds of new project for me.
So the little bit of oil left on the tray at 34:35 makes me think that you could actually apply the alcohol or oil first and then pour the color resin on top. I'm going to have to try that and see if I like the effect. I don't think those two little spots of oil actually detracted from piece at all. The other idea I had is to use one of those combs with the bigger teeth to apply the cell agent so you don't have to put every individual dot on there and you can get more on before the resin stops moving. You could actually cut out some of the teeth to apply fewer dots at a time. Marbling, hydro dipping, acrylic pours and cellular stuff done in resin I find to be beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for the demonstration!
My first time using silicon I mixed a drop or two with acrylic paint, to create cells, and then added a mixed 2 stage epoxy resin to each. I then layered the paint in a large cup to do a ring pour over an outdoor table. What I ended up with was beautiful, but the colors I'd put silicone in the epoxy stayed sticky and would not harden. I ended up having to scrap it all off and start over. Perhaps adding more hardener would have helped my mixture. Perhaps dabbing the silicone on top as you show still allows the epoxy to harden? Although the dabbing on top method has a unique effect, it doesn't give those numerous random cells. Do you ever have drying problems using silicone? Another problem I had was mixing in very fine glitter on another project. After about a month the glitter began migrating out of the paint to float to the top right through the hardened resin. A year later and it's hard to see the paint through the glitter . In some places it has even started poking through the surface. Isn't mica similar to glitter or does it stay down in the paint?
Really love the tray and coasters. Funny how we prefer different effects. I love the silicone oil effect coaster, it’s almost like a spider web. ❤ Thank you for your inspiration. I’m looking forward to trying the effects. Have you ever sprayed silicone oil on a project?
Girl, Your videos are the most informative and helpful in terms of trouble shooting!!! I am learning a lot from you ☺️☺️☺️.... thanks for making this video.... please do another one discussing indepth about the thickness of the resin, depth of the pour, and exact amount of pigment+ alcohol ink for cell formation...am still struggling with it...I have seen your wave tutorials numerous times but still kind of messing it every time...some times the resin is too thin and pools back, sometimes it's too thick and not spreading enough, white is dropping at the bottom no matter how thin my layer is, and after using heatgun and torch it's milky, not frothy like yours....same for the blooming techniques also, sometimes it's good, sometimes tis not happening despite doing the same things.... please help....
Hello thank you for your in-depth explanation of the different techniques. I am very new to resin and really loved all the info. Your work is stunning thank you again and God Bless
Fantastic video for learning the only thing for me being a newbie you haven’t mentioned what’s in the small pot for the coasters I know you said mica but what else etc thanks x
I am learning so much from you and I thank you for sharing this passion! I do have a question about bubble extraction post alcohol treatment. How do you do a bubble removal with the alcohol in the resin?
WOW !!! Absolutely stunning 😍 you are so talented and creative ❤️ it was a long video, but I watched every second instead of pressing fast forward like I usually do with a long video. I didn't want to miss anything. We have similar color tastes. I prefer dark, deep, warm colors compared to pale pastels. How much resin did you use for this project? Well, gr8 job, and thanks for sharing another great video hugs from Québec Canada 😊🫂

They all came out very nice. I look forward to making these for my wife!

I loved this technique. Thanks for teaching it.
That second mini coaster with the alcohol is just gorgeous! It is my favorite
I'd never have thought that you could do dragon scales with silicone in resin. Thanks for posting because now I know you can!
Beautiful! ❤
Absolutely gorgeous effects in the coasters and the tray. Love all the colors. Thank you for showing us the resin with silicone oil😍😍😍
Definitely 3 of the best piggies made! I think I liked the coasters better, before you did the alcohol.
You have given us a booklet of information in this video. It is not only very appreciated but also very good to know for many different uses and it’s very cool!
Love Cheddar's commentary! 😍
I like the way silicone works better I think it's the flow it visually looks.my preference I appreciate your help many useful tricks

That’s just a tiny embossing tool and it made such larges cells. Wow. Thanks.
Thank you so much for sharing how you do your beautiful work
The tray is my favorite!
Beautiful. I'd love to see replacing the black resin with another layer of clear. I think they would be fantastic hanging in a window also.
Wow I would’ve never imagined silicone would react in resin like that - gorgeous
Oh, and this was extremely beautiful, Innovative and interesting. Thank you for posting!
Beautiful colors for coasters... I loved the lesson..... Thanks
So beautiful I would love to try these I have a hard time choosing products to use😅

I think the second coat took the prettiness away the oil does seem like they get way too big to me. Very pretty ☺️
Great job.
Absolutely beautiful work!! Thankyou for sharing your techniques! Love it ♥
I love hearing you explain! And the results are fabulous ❤️
Que ótimo.. 😊 Obrigado 😻
at 6: 42, I pause to look around for the cat that is demanding attention; It wasn't one of mine LOL. Your work is mesmerizing!
So very very beautiful.
Nádherná práce.. Zajímavé video - děkuji za sdílení vlastních nápadů💙 Ať se daří u tvoření. Ahoj Iva..
Freaken brilliant. You just answered a plethora of questions ive had for that exact effect. Great job.
