This is amazing! I was going to book into a workshop to do this until I saw it was $140 australian. You have just saved me at least half of that. Thank you so much!😃🇦🇺
I love your instruction, but I had to watch it several times(I'm new at this). Anyway I have two questions.. first I tried to use a bamboo cutting board and the resin did not stick!! Weird. Do you have to use a certain non coated board? Second how do you deal with all the drips on the edges???
Thank you soo much, I tried this method but still had issues using using the West Systems epoxy that I usually use, so I tried a different epoxy I pulled out some UVPOXY from Ecopoxy and it was night and day, my very first try looks amazing, enough so that I'm going to make an ocean table after I've done some more practice, again learning from a PRO is never a bad option
How do you keep the resin from collecting or creeping around to the back surface of your cutting boards - and if it does, how do you remove it please ? I know nothing about this stuff and havenever done it but your work is fabulously talented ! 👏
I let it drips. Some people tape the bottom. I don't because it never comes out clean. So, I let it drip then I place it upside down on a foam pad and sand the drips off. After that I oil and wax the bottom back to a nice finish.
I’ve just found out about resin art and I think this is a good start for me. Very nice tutorial u can have 1 extra subscriber from me and look forward to seeing more of these
Ok love the tutorial but it ended before you did the 3rd wave and most importantly, the final prep! What did you do to make it even and still keep the board useable or is this just an art piece to hand on a wall?
You did an amazing job! And I really appreciated that you did step by step for us and didn't leave any thing out thank you so much for that!! I had one question for you. The wood your using is it pre-treated with anything?
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! Genial!!!!!! Excelente idea para hacer artístico un objeto cotidiano. Excellent idea to make artistic a daily object. Tky for sharing.
Great work. Plus Good Job explaining. However did you sand before adding the 2nd. Coat. I don't think the first coat had time to dry. I was just wondering before i try this project
I need help! Lol. I did this to the T and I didn't get any cells at all and had to used way more color than suggested. I checked about 13 hours later and it's got a weird film on the top. I mixed as I should and have this problem for the 2nd time using it. Please help. You're video seems super easy but I have to be doing something wrong. Thank you for the information
These are very beautiful. I showed them to a friend and she wants one. I have just finished by first river table and have experience making canoes with epoxy. I want to try making one of these. It looks like the cutting boards are finished. Do you have to sand the areas where the waves go? Or will the epoxy stick to the finish without sanding? Thanks for the video!
It should work with a heat gun but you might risk flashing. The dye is likely alcohol dye and what's happening is the alcohol is being boiled off. You will see flames coming off the resin which is the alcohol burning.
@@PourMeARiver So a blow dryer on the heat setting wont work compared to a torch? Is there a big difference between the heat setting on a hair dryer and a heat gun? I’m brand new to this but feel more confident after this tutorial!!
I have been trying to make these and continuously run into problems with the back of the board. From the drip thru, there are large bumps and "stalagmites" of hardened resin and the edges are not smooth . . . do you simply chisel, belt-sand, and finish to wood grain on the bottom?
If i don't have a torch and only used the hair dryer which blows hot air would it be enough cause I've been facing this not cell looking waves problem cause i used to blow it cold
Wear a respirator even of there is no smell the chemicals are bad in the long run for your lungs.
Love how you show this systematically
Wonderful tutorial and stunning, realistic results!

Hope it helps!
Excellent job with your resin. And see I agree you do make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing 😊
This is a really good tutorial and very well explained, thank you so much!
Beautiful work! You make it look so easy.
This video is great for starters. Thank you so much 🙏🏼
so you can't cut on these right? The design will get cut marks
Awesome tutorial thank you so much for sharing, loved every minute of your video perfect for a newbie to resin!
Absolutely fantastic 👏 👌 Sir.
Have you ever considered using something to catch the run off resins and put them to use, such as in mounds or something?
My wife uses the scraps.
@@PourMeARiver what does your wife do with them please?
@@777sgiles maybe to catch the blue resin for other products. Have the smaller size product below catching the resin.
Thanks this was amazing,
I am going to try it out today and if I get good I will be marking some large tables and possibly counter tops. 😁
Great can you use a heat gun instead of a blow torch?
Love this art wood work. 😉
Moms love everything! Lol🤣. Looks great! 💙
Man your work is awesome. Congrats 👏 please keep on making more videos.
Love it...I never did it like that...so beautiful and easy
“I’m gonna give it to my mom anyway.” “Moms love everything” 😌
Yeah...that part..lol
She hung it on the wall. Lol
Oooh lovely! You could make some nice earrings with that runoff!
I’ve never even thought of that! What a great idea! I think you could just put cups to catch it.
Amazing. Thanks for posting!!
Best tutorial ever.
Beautiful I would put a pan under them than u can catch the blue amd use it as well
My wife comes and peels them up while it's still flexible and makes vases
Beautiful! I would imagine those would sell like crazy at Christmas time. How much would you sell those for? Cost to make? Great video!!

I sanded the board first. When you buy them they are waxed and oiled. You need to sand it first or buy them uncoated.

Great video, I really want to try doing that, it looks so beautiful. Thank you for showing me how to do it step by step.
Thanks for the tutorial! I’m curious if you prepped the cutting board? And if so, how?
How do you keep the resin from collecting or creeping around to the back surface of your cutting boards - and if it does, how do you remove it please ?

Fantastic job, very creative.
What is the kind of white for the waves pls ? May u make it more clear ? Thanks
This was fascinating to watch! Love the boards, they turned out great. You have a new friend.
Awesome, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for making this look easy enough for us to try! Great tutorial!
I’m definitely a subscriber now!!

Can you use a heat gun in replacement of the torch?
Wow pretty dang cool!!!
Thank you so much for this amazing video RIver!!!
Ok love the tutorial but it ended before you did the 3rd wave and most importantly, the final prep! What did you do to make it even and still keep the board useable or is this just an art piece to hand on a wall?
For my mom to hang on the wall. Really I just did this to show how easy it is with this pigment to make ocean cells.
Thank you for sharing, please what colors r u using exactly. Is it specifically for resin or what
Everything I use is from Www.pourmeariver.com
I’d add a couple of tiny sand dollars on a top corner! I’m gonna make one! Thanks for sharing!
Great idea! Maybe add them before the 2nd coat so their protected and you can still see them!
And beautiful work!!
Superb mate. Love it! 👌😎🇬🇧
Ur a god damn artist bro. Your videos make my day better. Keep it coming man!
What did u use for mixing the white? resin hardener and what kind of white colour? , it get little white pixel all day long and no waves
Amazing, how do you remove the hardened drops of resin under the frame?
Great video. Looks good! Thanks for making the video.
You did an amazing job! And I really appreciated that you did step by step for us and didn't leave any thing out thank you so much for that!! I had one question for you. The wood your using is it pre-treated with anything?
Yes it was waxed and oiled but I sanded that off
@@PourMeARiver Thank you for answering 😊
wow!!! excellent work thanks 😊
What white do you use please? Thanks
Fully watched 😀👍
Chris, what do you do to the bottom to keep resin off? Do you take it?
Is there any special prep to the boards before pouring resin?
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

No I didn't sand. I waited 12 hrs and directly poured the 2nd coat
Nice. What is underneath them as table cover
Great work
Love this effect.
Which products did u use? AMAZING
Really nice tutorial thank you!
Love your work! Could you tell me what brand and product you are using for the white waves ?

Do you tape the backs before you pour the resins? Thanks
No, mostly I sand the drips.

If i dont have a torch , and just leave it ,wont it do its own work and make cells ?
If I don't have blow tourch, how to create that cells, with hairdryer can I do,or any other method
I have mica pearl white , would that do for the waves?
Wow!! Amazing.
Thank you.
Is there anything on the board before you pour the epoxy on?
love the tutorial very good video im subbed
очень круто:) !
спасибо за видео и подробное описание !
Can you please tell me how you prepare the back side of the board? Thank you. They are beautiful!
What about the back of the wooden board doesnt paint get underneath
So it doesnt need final sanding, wouldn't the ocean pour be higher than the board without sanding
I have been trying to make these and continuously run into problems with the back of the board. From the drip thru, there are large bumps and "stalagmites" of hardened resin and the edges are not smooth . . . do you simply chisel, belt-sand, and finish to wood grain on the bottom?
I usually hear them up with a heat gun and either peel them or use a sharp knife and cut them and down the excess
Thank you for sharing man.
Great video, how much blue was in your second coat?
I didn't notice wether you use hardener or not. Is it all right if we do not use hardener in epoxy resin?
I don't know how I ended up here but I'm glad I did!
Did you tape off the back? I use 2 different blues for depth.
When pouring resin and dripping down sides does it mess the back of board ?
Yes but I sand and oil it
Did u make the boards too
great skill boss
Do you do anything to prepare the boards?
Wipe it off and keep it clean. Then you good to go
Beautiful ❤️
This is so beautiful. Thanks for the tutorial.
How do you make it flat after all that resin on top? Do you leave it uneven or?
Hey what type of pigment are you using?
sir, you are an absolute genius. thank you so much for sharing🙌🏾🙌🏾
Hey so I did torch but my white resin burned and didn't create cells. It had flames that wont go
What can we do if we couldn't buy that white pigment?
did you scuff up the boards to make the epoxy stick better
white is pure paint? or mixed with resin?
If i don't have a torch and only used the hair dryer which blows hot air would it be enough cause I've been facing this not cell looking waves problem cause i used to blow it cold
Can i use heat from hair dryer to make cells ?
Dude! I was wondering how this will start to look like a ocean? Then you used the blow dryer and the torch! **Mind Blown**
literally LOL
You explained that wonderfully, amazing ❤️
What about the beneath of yr work ,how to you avoid the resin messing the beneath
Very nice 👍
Are these for decoration or can they be used for food?
Can you tell what the surface that you are working on is? I see the Lowe’s logo and was wondering if it is drywall
