Some people do river tables. You did an ocean table, complete with continents and continental shelf. The colours are perfect. Just magnificent. Thank you for sharing.
I have probably watched 50 to 60 of these river table videos all over RUclips, this is the most beautiful table i have seen. The wood used gave it so much depth. Great job!
Hello Greg! The wood is absolutely stunning! Observing the intricate details in the wood is a genuine reflection of nature's artistry. The table has turned out exceptionally beautiful! Thank you for sharing another remarkable piece of work with us! 🙂
Pragtig.
Wow, this table looks amazing. the play of colors and the highlighting of the wood by the oil, just beautiful. great work and thanks for the explanation.
Well sir. I've seen a lot of epoxy tables in the last couple of years. I've seen a few in person but mostly on RUclips. This is without a doubt the most beautiful one I have ever seen, BRAVO, great work!!!
Me too, I can't wait to see the power of the kick back on that FESTOOL saw. Right at 2:03 I envisioned the kick back cutting arms and chest when he pulled back on that skill saw.
watching these videos make me wanna start flattening my slabs of black walnut from a tree in my yard. Had a guy with the Alaskan mill come to cut slabs free..well not exactly free. Slab it for half the lumber. Ok deal since the tree was cut down free. I got 6 2in slabs of gorgeous featured walnut 31in width.2. 1/2 in. Thick. By 18ft length. And a separate piece 32in diameter by 3.5ft for whatever I need. It's not dry enough yet and its sitting in my backyard but these videos get me wanting to start the project. My main problem is the base. So many designs i haven't settled yet. Nice table guys!!! Love the color using a brown tinted! Nice call!
Wow what an amazing piece of work, absolutely stunning. I’m definitely doing it when older ( old lol ) and kids flying out of the nest . Will rent a workshop , buy all the tools and do them tables . Did my countertops in the kitchen and got really hooked on it .
I wasn't sold at first, but this is my fav looking table i've seen. I've probabaly watched 2 dozen of these table videos for some reason and being able to look into the wood with the mild translucence is so cool.
Greg, this is an amazing table. I am about to start working on my 1st epoxy table. It will be a desk for my office 30" x 80" made from Peaky Cypress wood that we have domestically here in Louisiana, US. I plan to do several smaller experimental projects 1st. These tips were great. Thank you very much.
At the end of the video when you show the finished product as you're running the camera over the top of the table also run a light under the table to illuminate the translucence a bit more. Fantastic job 👍
Thank you very Much Man. I was in need of a South African content about woodworking. You are a blessing. just wish someone would do videos about basic carpentry in South Africa
Beautiful table. Gorgeous wood. So nicely done. One concern: I want you to able to continue doing what you're doing, so I urge you to wear a mask during your sanding. I know you use a vacuum hose with your sander, but a little extra precaution would make me feel more comfortable on you behalf. ❤
Jealous of your multi drawer workbench! Well done! I am in awe of the lightening, I have very seen it that wild. Again reminds you of the wonders of nature. ⛈️ Very glad you were spared the water damage.
That is the sickest most spectacular table I've ever seen. What an amazing job hands down beautiful. I'd be happy with 2 chairs that table and an air mattress 😅seriously content
Viewing this table from a tabletop wargamer's perspective..... This table can deliver so many awesome campaigns I absolutely adore it, and wish I had room in my home for one
Beautiful table. I've been playing around with epoxy myself. Building small projects like serving boards. I'm seriously considering building a coffee table for myself soon. I've used Total Boat deep pour and it seems to work great. Very clear up to two inches.
My opinion about the table is that humanity has redeemed itself with such a beautiful manmade table. I think I would've just made the blue more translucent and maybe added a bevel on the edges.
That’s really amazing at how the wood and blue cast a green almost looking like there are lush trees great stuff like mountains with flowing rivers and trees 👌🏽👌🏽
I have been an Odie's Oil advocate for quite sometime but recently stopped using their product and advocating for their finish. I took a course by Black Tail studio and then I ran into a couple other sources that indicated Odie's looks great when first applied. I agree with that. But Cam Anderson said that after about 3-4 months the customers started complaining because the the protection was no longer in tact and they had to redo their finish. I then had a couple other people I consider reliable say the same thing. I don't usually do big items like tables - mostly cutting and charcuterie stuff. Nobody complained yet but I don't sell much, I give most of my stuff away. Have you had any complaints or similar feedback about how long the protection lasts on the tables you are selling with Odie's Oil as the finish?
Rob, thanks for your message. To be honest, at the start we only applied one coat of the original odies oil, and a few weeks the woods looks very dry, as if it needs another coat of oil. Than we started to apply the super duper first and the next day we will apply the original odies, once we started with this process we never had issues before. I even made furniture for myself and tested this theory. Otherwise then that I really like this finish, especially if we can sand our epoxy and wood to 400 grit
Great content and amazing work. Thank you for sharing your craft online. I will definitely be looking up your online course. Much love and respect, Kiwi Bam
i am about to build my first table so this is helpfull. I would imagine the class is more informative. I think these tables are stunning. I sent a message on your website. Cant wait
The table top is amazing, phenomenal, I am only a spectator, but if i was allowed one critique, the table legs really detract from this work of art. I do not know what would be better, but there must be something. Also, it says something of my reply when all else reply of the effort and artistic dimension of your work.
Brother, if you want to get rid of the problem of not filling the cracks with wood, you have to build a container with a vacuum system that is able to accommodate all parts of the table. Result: the water remaining inside the wood will come out in the form of gas bubbles, and the resin will enter every millimeter with the wood blocks. It is your domain and you know very well that it is important
Great job guys! But here is the easiest way, how to calculate volume of resin you need. Just cut piece of wood, let's say 10cm x 10 cm, which you gonna use for your table, and weigh that piece. So now you know your wood volume weigh. After that weigh all your wood, what will go in to the mold, then you can easy calculate all volume of your wood. Final step - volume of your mold minus volume of your wood = volume of resin you need for your table.
Everyone is worried about bubbles and bark. Why don't you do a small table leaving the bark and bubbles. I want to see what it looks like! THis is the best I have seen yet.
Some people do river tables. You did an ocean table, complete with continents and continental shelf. The colours are perfect. Just magnificent. Thank you for sharing.
Oh thank you!
Like an ocean with desert isles that have underwater greenery. Absolutely gorgeous! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You read my mind, is exactly what I thought, the table looks like the Farasan and Dahlak Islands in the Red Sea, God and Men 😇Teamwork!
Finally someone doing a table i can agree with. Donot seal the edges . Better bond, And a chemical bond between layers not sanding. Great job guys!!!!
Chemical bonding is better but if you want a good finish then it’s not
I have probably watched 50 to 60 of these river table videos all over RUclips, this is the most beautiful table i have seen. The wood used gave it so much depth. Great job!
Absolutely amazing!
I'm starting to realise Black tail studio is far from the best at this - his are pretty average compared to many others.
Hello Greg! The wood is absolutely stunning! Observing the intricate details in the wood is a genuine reflection of nature's artistry. The table has turned out exceptionally beautiful! Thank you for sharing another remarkable piece of work with us! 🙂
I'm normally not a big fan of epoxy, I think it's over used and gaudy at times but this is absolutely stunning. It's perfection
Your mother is overused and gaudy
You gotta master it

this was such a delight to watch. it was my first one and oh my i had fun. amazing work!
I really enjoyed the video. Thank you
Absolut the best I ever seen....tip top
Everyone is worried about bubbles and bark. Why don't you do a small table leaving the bark and bubbles. I want to see what it looks like! THis is the best I have seen yet.
They lose a lot of character when the bark is removed, but I suppose they wouldn't do it if it was not necessary
Very good colour combination indeed!!!!!All the best.
I am in love with this table!!!!
Simply gorgeous 😍 great job everyone!
Great work new subscriber from Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada looking forward to your next video
Amazing build. Great to see it from SA. Awesome to see that we are in that market!

Great job Mr Greg I'm inspired 🙏
