If you get sent to prison for licking ice cream and then putting it back, there should be a mandatory announcement to everybody within the prison of what you did.

Yes. Because at a prison filled with murders, rapists, abusers, fraud felons, etc etc, these people will care about someone doing a gross prank. Will they be made slightly ridiculed for a few weeks? Maybe. Aside from that, no one would give a damn. People who are in prison don’t usually care about other inmates unless they have to worry about getting attacked by them, or if they can exploit them.
My father went to prison once and said the police officers don't announce most crimes to the other inmates. They do announce it when it comes to pedophiles, because of a large majority of prisoners hating pedophiles. It's more or less a way for them to get 'punished', and 'shown what it's like'.
But I can imagine them telling the prisoners that they went to jail for licking the top of ice cream, and all of them just shaking their heads or bursting out in laughter.

I've never seen ice cream without some sort of safety seal! Either plastic wrap around the likes of Ben & Jerry's containers, or that little flap on plastic containers that needs to be snapped off to open the lid

He didnt choke. Choking on food or drink is a TV trope used as a visual way to communicate surprise. The millions of comments on you tube of people saying "I spat out my drink" or " I choked on my cereal" etc are plain lies. The commenter wants to communicate that they understood the joke, and in fact found it particularly hilarious. As there is no way people can ever determine whether they really did spit out their drink/food, it is a "safe" lie to tell as they cant be called out. And because its harmless, and communicates the notion accurately and succinctly, it is acceptable. The only potential harm if any, is to the commenter, when at some point in the future (if it hasn't happened already), the "i spat/chocked comment formula meme will grow tired and the commenter will be laid bare as an unoriginal hack-fraud whos primary motive is to gain likes (or internet clout - a bit like the theme of this video) shamelessly recycling tried and true comments, rather than commenting for the purpose of simply sharing your own actual thoughts. Also I was there and he definitely didn't choke.

As someone who works at a grocery store, all those people literally contaminated the ice cream. Which means that "We" the store have to throw it away no matter what.
This happened to my local grocery, and they had to throw away a whole shelf worth of ice cream cause they didnt know if the others were contaminated.
This kind of stuff is why some food prices slowly go up over time.

I just wanna know why ice cream doesn't have a seal on it? Any food item should be sealed in some way for this very reason. Same with medications or anything that goes on the skin. It could potentially be even more dangerous if someone spit into a lotion bottle since the bacteria and/or viruses would be able to live longer in something that wasn't frozen...
I wish these people burn in hell.
Eastman Editing ice cream does have seals, it depends on the container but it can be wrapped in plastic or have those little tabs that you have to break when you open the lid. That way people know if it’s been tampered with or not
@@EastmanEditing These typss of ice cream are considered to have a natural seal because the ice cream is flipped upside down to cool, making it freeze to the lid. From personal experience, you absolutely can tell when its been opened. The lid looks noticibly different/kinda battered and creased, and opening it feels different since you aren't peeling the lid off the ice cream.

My dad passed away from a very common bacterial infection that can be passed person to person when he was 41 because he was immunocompromised. The only good thing is at least ice cream is frozen, so many viruses and bacteria would hopefully be killed off, but it's still absolutely revolting. I would give anyone who did this jail time.
@@EastmanEditing bacteria are not killed by the cold, they just become dormant, or multiply slower. You have to heat them to really high temperatures to kill them, like boiling or steam sterilisation. That's why it's always safer to eat recently cooked food than longtime refrigerated food.

I've seen a lot of ice cream brands within the past few years start to put plastic seals (like on a bottle) on tubs of ice cream or put a protective seal inside like the ones syrup bottles have.
pretty sure thats always been a thing to keep it air tight and a lid could easily get popped off in storage or transportation

This upsets me. VISCERALLY. My mum's had cancer before, leaving her immunocompromised COMPLETELY (a cold would've killed her. QUICK). It was in her throat, rapidly heading towards her brain and potentially her lymph nodes (which would've been terminal). One of the first things she could eat during recovery was soup. And then ICE CREAM, which she didn't have too often.
Watching the videos initially, even a while before COVID, and probably filmed from the other side of the Pacific, brought that terror back. And I just think: What if my *mum* picked up one of those? What if it killed her? The fact that explaining that to these people, or just getting angry at them, only caused them to endanger more people is completely devastating. What if I knew about this, back then, and got angry, back then? What if **I** killed her?
Also it's of course disgusting. Even if the person eating the ice cream only gets mildly sick (or not at all), the fact that it was a *preventable* and yet present *risk* is... stupid. At least some of these people were brought to justice. :(
