Half-Life 2 Unused Vortigaunt Death By Barnacle Animation

Strangely enough the Half-life day 1 files had a very similar animation for the half-life 1 vort.
Barnacles usually kill on contact with an NPC.
I find this strange as Vortiguants would have lived with barnacles on xen and would have learnt to deal with them.

from what I remember they excused it by making the Barnacle snap the NPCs neck according to the closed captions.

They are kind of like the Citadels on earth.
Creating genetically modified humands/vorts for the combine.
Citadels: Human -> Combine Soldier
Xen factories: Vortigaunt -> Alien Grunt
