    Finally, a video that specifically talks about PM tasks and objectives, rather than showing for 10mins, coffee brewing or a lunch run. As a new PM, actual details are beneficial, and I appreciate the time taken to list out EXACTLY what PMs do in addition to giving tips on what makes a good PM. Subscribed.

    Among all PM blogs I've watched , yours is the most I like. You are very eloquent, and you give off that vibe where "you talk like you know what you are talking about". I can also feel from the video the essence of your experience in the marine corps, there is a certain humility, discipline and respect for the job that you exclude. Finally a PM that I would like to follow on RUclips

I have excellent interpersonal communication skills. And I like solving problems. I am currently a Visual Information Spec. Seems like an easier route to becomming a GS12 and beyond as there are not too many 12 posiitons in my current field. My degree is a BS in Digital Cinematography. So I have worked in indie film. And let me tell you, even making a short film is quite a project to manage.

    Is this something you think I can get into with no knowledge and what way would you direct me if you could.
    Like where do you fink I should start? Should I do a Udemy course on excel as you mentioned excels importance. How do I find all the project management/planner specialisms? I can study this and do an exam whilst I am a primary PE teacher?

    Anyone have any ideas on PMP vs MBA in Project management? My school offers both in separate graduate programs

    • @foluobe5126
      @foluobe5126 2 года назад

      The MBA (Master of Business Administration) is a graduate school business degree program that takes an average of about 2-3 years and gives you general business management knowledge across different areas such as finance, human resource management, marketing, information systems, business strategy, etc. depending on what area you want to focus on, min. requirements for the MBA degree is a bachelor's degree. The PMP (Project Management Professional) is a project management certification given by the PMI (Project Management Institute) and allows individuals to be formally certified as a project manager via an exam per the PMBOK and other sources such as Agile practice guide etc. Requirements to sit for the PMP exam is normally certain number of PM experience hours and educational qualifications.

      Depends on your current position and how much exposure to PM responsibilities you already have. I think the CAPM or the Google PM cert is a great entry into learning about project management material if you’re looking getting your foot in the door and don’t have much experience. It will help you prepare for the PMP.

      It varies a lot based on many different factors like industry, location, etc. Google will tell you it’s around $120k USD but I’ve seen lower and much higher.

    Hi Sheldon. I am 22 years old who currently working operation, leadership in quality. I'm thinking of going into a project management role. would you recommend google project management certification?

      I think the Google PM cert is a great place to start! Very similar to the CAPM. It will prep you for your PMP if that is your future goal.

      I'm not the creator of the video but I am a project manager with my PMP certification. I will say that it really depends on the company and how many projects you are working on. I have worked less than 40 hours at previous jobs when there aren't many projects I'm in charge of, but then I've worked over 50 hour weeks when the projects are getting into the construction phase.

    Omg. I felt like you were talking to me in your video - I'm a 30 year old that is thinking about taking her PMP certification to take on a Project Manager role in a major bank. I have no idea what to expect, I've been freelancing as a coupier and a real estate agent and I don't know if this will allow me to have the time to do all 3

      I think it’s a great entry level cert for those with little experience who are looking into PM roles and positions. Very comparable to the CAPM.

    I just want to say that i got so much out of this man. I have a strong desire to get into real estate and i am working toward my state license and also getting some certifications around that at the moment. Over the last couple weeks i came across PM and i started to gain a strong interest that i even started the google certification program im sure you are familiar with it. Do you think really doubling down on PM could help me excel in the real estate field in any way ? I want to take the PMP exam one day. let me know thanks again.

      i think the google cert is a great way to get acquainted with project management from a very high level. it's tough to juggle two separate careers but everyone's situation is different so it's tough for me to make that call - only you know the answer! wishing you much success either way.
