    Hi Alvin! Great video. However, I have a question - how do you use a RAID log to manage projects? I have looked online but have had a difficult time trying to find a comprehensive example of one and how the RAID log helps manage a project. I'm having a tough time visualizing this. For example, I understand the relationship between risks and issues and I get the relationship between Actions and Decisions/Dependencies, but given that so many actions and decisions are made every day by everyone in the project, how does one deal with that? Is it as simple as just logging EVERYTHING that comes up? Like if a possible action is coming up that requires a decision to follow through, is it just logged?

    • @alvinthepmofficial
      @alvinthepmofficial  Год назад +3

      @Nam Nguyen, really glad you found the video helpful! Great question - I don't typically use the RAID Log to capture every single action and every single decision. Otherwise, my RAID Log would have more than 100+ items on it. Instead, I recommend focusing on the most important ones (high impact and high severity) that you discuss with your team and including it on your RAID Log. (For example, very critical actions that are on the critical path, which may delay procurement of parts or the completion of hardware design). I'll be releasing a video soon about using the RAID Log, so stay tuned!

    I made it to about 15 minutes when the wooden 'I like using the Braun yada yada' sprang up. I've paid to remove ads on RUclips so I can't cope with all this mentioning of specific products. Don't care if it's guerrilla advertising or just a misplaced view that people interested in PM work want product advice shoved at them every 20 seconds. I'm a PMP PM btw - would really not recommend anything to anyone as I have weird taste,,,,,actually I did like the MS Arc nouse as ut folds flat and can fit into a file when rushing around (matters less these days with remote). Don't even know if they still make them :) Seriously, more on realistic *actual* activity and less on the peripheral activities would be better IMO. Sorry for being negative mate

      I completely agree that life is completely different when you have kids. I am actually not single, happily married - I don't show my wife to respect her privacy, and we're still working on trying to have kids.
