Excellent little conversion Mr. Gear Show, as always. Great to watch you work, and also great to know that tool has a whole new lease of a way more convenient life for someone 👍👍👍. 😎
As usual you make amazing restoration videos. And to be honest, there are many restoration ideas that I can learn from your videos. stay healthy and keep working.
Ladies and Gentlemen, gather around, gather around! Have you ever seen anything this electrifying? No, you haven't! I'm talkin' turning a corded circular saw into a cordless wonder! This is better than a two-for-one deal at Saul Goodman & Associates! I mean, come on! 220V to 20V? You're not just bending the laws of physics, you're breaking 'em, and then rewriting 'em! That's what I call real legal wizardry, my friend. If you ever need a patent for that magnificent invention, you better call Saul, baby! We're talkin' intellectual property! We're talkin' making you the next big thing since, I don't know, the invention of the wheel or something! Keep this high-voltage content coming, Gear Show! You're makin' history here!
Mr. Gear Show is always a good restorer and satisfying because always every time a new video comes out he does an incredibly amazing and interesting job....Be safe and have all you want...Love your grade 10 videos🙏🙏❤️❤️🇷🇴🇷🇴😘😘
We don't get Makita's less expensive line in North America. I'm surprised that they would be in Japan. I thought they were only for less affluent markets. How is there quality?
Rotors, my least favourite part of rewinding motors. Would suggest getting some high copper brushes though, as the plain carbon ones will burn out fast, and probably are already robbing you of a good chunk of power there, and thus RPM. Could also have wound it using a shunt field, original windings would have done well enough, though of course using heavier wire and series would make it a lot more powerful.
Why does the motor need to be rewound? Couldn't the existing windings be used? Or would they not produce enough torque with only 18v input since they were designed for much more?
Amazing conversion and restoration. Would have been perfect to see a custom 3d designed and printed support for the battery module, but still, that's impressive!
Well, with all respect, 6 amps at 20V is 120 watts. 120 watts just to spin a blade seems like a lot... Are you sure the brush angle corresponds to the magnet angle?
If the starter coil just burns out, why does it have to be replaced? Then the rotor is removed from the magnet (sanded) then changed to coil rotor?. Please explain master 🙏
Great job... Do you think if i send my wife to you, you could restore her, and adjust her voltage she been running terrible and making a horrible noise.. think shes wired wrong and screws starting to fall out. Might just chuck her out and get a new one
From a technical point of view, everything is fine, bravo, but an important detail, if you plan to use it, then do not forget to integrate protective electronics so that when biting the material you don’t burn everything to hell, and 7000 rpm is too much
What will happen if you just join 2 commutator bars together with solder? Won't it act like a 12 bar? Greetings from South Africa and loving all your videos. Encouraging me to also try it.
Congratulations on making the world's most expensive circular saw. I have a couple of questions. Aren't the deep wear marks on the rotor a problem? And isn't removing material from the rotor to mechanically balance it going to unbalance it electrically?
This was a perfect video in every way no loud beginning no music while working no explanation just you playing with your awesome tools
Reminds me of the video where someone makes a chicken sandwich completely from scratch and the whole process costs them a thousand bucks.
Sounds like a Nile red video

Great job, thank you brother. You are so talented
You are really smart and creative in your work. As always, I enjoyed this video❤

❤
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this video.
This is more effective than a regular circular saw 💪🇵🇭
It would have been nice if you showed the wiring. That’s the one part of this that was perhaps the most pertinent to the title of the video.
Bạn có kỹ năng rất tốt, công cụ đầy đủ. Như hổ mọc cánh 😁😎
3:06 Would it have been possible to use two bars as one and double up so there is effectively 12 bars rather than replace the commutator?
You deserve a "LIKE" 👍

Here, in the countries of Eastern Europe (CIS), the Makita Tool is a common noun of the word "Quality tool"
Amazing restoration job, that took some work 👍👍
Excellent restoration
First time of watched someone hand wind a motor…. Sub granted.

I recommend you to use brushes with copper mixed with carbon for low voltage to get the best performance
Okay, thank you for sharing!

Cool to see the transformation! I think an explanation would add a lot to the video and help people understand what they are seeing

Laws of electricity speak against 😅👷🏻♂️
Thanks for sharing!
Did you check to see if the old copper windings were bad before redoing it? I'm ignorant and am seeking understanding.
1/10 Voltage result in windings carrying 10 times the current 🤔
Thank you for sharing this great video 🙂🙂
😊👍
Great job I appreciate your skills , some people have time , most people just buy them

Yeah, that battery bracket was a total let down. Would've been better to just epoxy the battery base down.
Loved the conversion.

An artist in the sense of the word
Amazing conversion.
This is very cool. Jewelry work!
Super 👍👏
Look at the cute little torche 😂
how long this 18v 4amp hour batery can run this.
Hey,
totall noob here, but how do you calculate how many bars the commutator need when converting from 220v to 20v and how many turns you need?
Bom trabalho 👏👏
Amazing! If I had a hidraulic press and a lathe, I would try to do it.

why do you use wood in the engine? can't that start to burn with harder use of the machine?

epic. great stuff. saw looks like it cuts terribly though.
