@@gear_show Make sure you have some acetone around cause that stuff takes a bit to dry and when you don't think about it your fingers are glued together. Been there done that.
Nice restore. I have a bench grinder that was made in Singapore/Malaysia from around the late 1970's/early 80's too and it looks very similar but not the same. You can see this was a bench grinder originally but changed into a polishing machine. You can see the holes for where the grinding wheel guards attach to the body of the grinder and the short length of the spindle when the polishing wheel arbors are removed. The spindle also has shoulders on each side to act as a stop for the grinding wheels. Also the ends of the spindle have threads for the nuts to hold the grinding wheels in place. A specifically made polishing machine will have long spindles without needing the arbors to make them longer. I like these older machines since they made them 'tougher' in those days. 😀
Great Job Sir. I love everything you do, but I really liked this one.... Good as new, maybe better.... I love the CA glue and the paper medium trick. And in case your viewers think that is "bs" or something, it is not. That works. Now, you can use thin cloth, paper towel, whatever you have... think of it like a fiberglassing concept... You have the cloth, you have the resin, and together it dries hard & it works....
I did something similar with coarse fabric and some epoxy.. my technique was rough but it worked too. They don't make fiberglass composites just for fun....
I look at CA and my fingers are glued together. Thankfully I have the industrial acetone around. It works a hell of a lot better and quicker than Nail Polish remover. Just got to put some lotion on afterwards.
The internal switch is for a "run" winding. Once the motor is running at 1200rpm or higher the switch will open and the run winding will turn off. The main winding is powering the motor. The run winding just starts the motor in the correct rotation direction. That is why it does not havea capacitor.
i tought you will 3d a new one for the broken switch holder but your really a legendary instead of printing you use a FACEMASK to add some support to the glue nice idea plus it proves that facemask is not only use to protect people but also to put broken things together😅
you can upgrade the main wire with 3 line cable and connect the earth cable with the main metallic chassis, drill a hole and tap it if needed to use a screw. Connect a start up capacitor for better stability at starting
Damnit you showed super glue and now my fingers are glued together. Every time I look at it that is what happens why I keep acetone around and not the girly nail polish stuff the industrial stuff. It works quicker to unstick my fingers.
Nice job. The fabric super glue trick was brilliant! I will add that to my bag of tricks for the future for sure.
Glad it was helpful!

This way will be efficiency than using capacitor?
@@gear_show This way the motor can only start in one direction. It cannot run backwards.
@@gear_show it's just a different method. A capacitor needs to be turn off with a centrifugal switch as well
@@gear_show Probably had issues starting because of the worn out bearings having increased friction.
Wow the sound of the Machine after restore is so great

i never knew you could use facemasks in such a way!
Thanks for the tip
Happy to help!
Good restore, i think you should've changed the polishing wheels to new ones though
It is called "centrifugal switch'', it helps the motor to start, and then disengages when the motor reaches its full speed.
Oh, I see, thank you for sharing!
It's hard to wait for your video, please upload video bit faster.. Big fan
I will try my best

Why u won't try with capacity?
This tool doesn't need a capacitor.
Sir please per day video upload

You should have renewed the electrical wiring, to.
it is metal case!! you need a protection wire!
👍💯
Thank you!
13:30 - the switch with crack.
Cleaning electrical contacts with abrasive is a bad idea. Most important is the top - layer . Now contact can be "welded" in any moment.
Also sometimes those contact points are made out of cadmium or something toxic
So what should you do.
Ok, you may be right. What do you suggest to clean electrical contacts a better way ? It would be interesting to learn, thank you :)
Depends if the contact is just coated or is solid, something this old may be solid metal the whole way through. Also everythings toxic
