Boston changed the sound of Rock n Roll forever, and their first 2 albums were massive hits. The sound of rock today is a direct descendent of their sound.
This song came out when I was a baby, but so many thanks to my dad who introduced me to all this amazing music from when I was a young age. Some of my favourite bands and songs are from the 70's, music I probably wouldn't have known or appreciated nearly as much if it weren't for my dad and I listening to music from when I was a young age. RIP dad, it's been 9 years today since you have been gone and I still miss you so much. I love to listen to the songs you and I both loved together.
This first album was recorded in Tom's basement he did ALL the instruments and Brad did the singing. When the record company wanted them to re-record the album in their studios, they couldn't get a better sound. Tom had to hire the rest of the band after this album as they were asked to do live tours!!
I first experienced Boston as a child in the 1970s, when my older brother was an avid collector such albums and there sparkly sound (a result of a professional Kodak engineer who expanded his talents into recording) was captivating and probably game-changing at that stage.
Dudes. This guy can hit the notes with consummate ease for this song. I don' t want to put a dampener on this but, this guy sadly took his life and that is so sad. But, will for ever be one of my favourite songs and thank you to you Boston and of course, Brad. Hope your rocking them up there in Rock heaven.
Oh snap!!!! Girl!!! You playing one, if not my most favorite band in the world!!! Real singing, high notes! Real instruments, real talent. Glad you got to listen to some real good music. The whole album is good! And then their second album “don’t look back” is just as good. And their 3rd stage is ok, and then the others weren’t as good. But yeah Boston is friggin awesome!!!
Saw “Boston” in concert 1976 in Boston, Ma…..it was my first 🎶 Concert!! I was 13 years old!!! I played that Album over and over!!! Remember it still … still have the tee shirt!!!🎶
Virtually all of Boston’s songs were hits and were relatively unique from one another. If I had to pick the next one to react to it would be the epic Boston hit “foreplay”! Thanks for the lovely reaction!
boston, boston came out in 1976, 3 top 40 billboard hits, sold over 17 million copies only surpassed by guns n roses, 1985 appetite for destruction's 19 million copies sold, everything in the 70's was better than today, except for jimmy carter and nixon, i'm with you sarah great music is therapy for us
Time flies. It doesn't wait. There is no time to feel depressed or down in the dumps. Be like tephlon and let hate and criticism slide right on off. Don't fall into a rut or routine. Every day needs to be fruitful. Can't waste time, time keeps moving. Fill your life with love and compassion but be aware of the hippocrates, hate mongerers, and those that are selfish. You are number one. Take care of your health, you'll live and love til your 100
Music is therapy👍🏻👍🏻! What a great way to look at it! It is for me as well! This was a really good song and just had a lot of good energy!!! Loved your reaction Sarah!!! Have a great weekend and stay well 👍🏻👍🏻😀❤️
love love Boston you need to react to rock and roll band by Boston and I would like to see you react to one of these days by Pink Floyd the live version the 1994 tour I've been to a lot of concert but Pink Floyd is the best one I ever been to they are the best Bantu to me ever
Saw them in concert at the Sun Dome in Tampa, FL. in 1995. What a crowd! While waiting for the concert to start, we saw a man with greying hair in his' 50's wearing a Tux. His date was a stunning blonde in a light blue floor length evening gown with a tiara, diamond earrings/necklace and white elbow length gloves. 10 feet behind them, in walked a 30's women in a black bustier, leather short shorts, fishnet stockings, thigh-high boots and black leather gloves. In her hand was a silver chained dog leash. This leash was attach to the man she was leading in. He was wearing black combat boots, black leather pants, a black leather vest (no shirt), spiked leather dog collar and a full head black leather mask! I told my friends "This Concert just went to the next level"!! The concert was awesome! I never saw so many panties thrown onto the stage!!
Boston's 2nd album was delayed in release because the single reel to reel tape was accidentally exposed to heat and the tape was fused on the reel. Tom Scholz (MIT Graduate/genius)spent weeks peeling the tape off slowly, one inch at a time using liquid silicone lubricant, to recover the album!!! He continues to invent music related devices to this day!
The words are sad, it is about taking a girl for granted. If you can drop the lyrics and listen to the voice as simply an instrument you may find yourself coming away from it with fireworks coming out your ears and ass while skating on rainbows.
I've gotten bored of Boston. They are cute, but they are not a long term relationship. The music is a little too nice, like an AI processed all pop songs and came up with this.
The only problem with this video is a) it’s a shortened version of the song, b) the sound quality is horrible. Which is kind of a waste, since part of the mystique of Boston’s debut album is the fantastic sound quality of it. Band leader Tom Scholz was a sound engineer and he did this album in his basement BETTER than professional music studios of the day - and it still stands the test of time. Listening to the potato quality of this video/audio is almost a crime. You won’t understand what was so special about this band & album by this video. It really sucks.
I loved that... you just know that he's gonna go for that high note, but you're still just blown away when he nails it.
🙏🙂
every damn time... stil today, blown away. 07/20/22
Everytime❤❤❤❤
I was noticing that, too. She's so cute.
Boston changed the sound of Rock n Roll forever, and their first 2 albums were massive hits. The sound of rock today is a direct descendent of their sound.
mmmm Rush probably has influenced more but yeah...I understand.
A 70’s anthem, a timeless classic and a masterpiece. Good reaction 👍🏻
Thank you

The demo was recorded there, not the album.
I saw them in concert in the fall of 1978. It was my first concert and it was great!
One of the best rock albums of ALL time in my opinion
It was fun to hear this song again. Like you said-music is therapy❤️
It really Is!
You are hearing one of the greatest bands of the century
Look into their material. Its sheer rock Ecstasy.
The video may not be timeless but the music is!
Absolutely
I remember the first time i heard this song in 1976 and it blew me away, as did he rest of the albun!!!
One of the best songs ever written 🙌 ❤️
I really enjoy watching you react to the songs. Who says our fathers and grandfathers were dull? Better than rap anyday.
I first experienced Boston as a child in the 1970s, when my older brother was an avid collector such albums and there sparkly sound (a result of a professional Kodak engineer who expanded his talents into recording) was captivating and probably game-changing at that stage.
Sarah you got it spot on!❤❤
A Classic!👍
Thank you Richard 🙂
I used to play drums in a club back then and remember playing this every night. Great memories! Thanks for sharing and reacting to it. 🙏🏼
I should add that every song on that album got heavy radio rotation. All but one was recorded in his studio,
Great choice Sarah, great guitar licks and vocals on that one!

All 'Boston' songs are excellent, hope you do more thanks
Fantastic power rock from their first album! This song put Boston immediately on the rock map. They were, of course, a great concert band.
Your awesome reaction made may day. It was a shared experience...getting lost in theusic. Thank you, thank you, thank you..
Rip Brad Delp thanks for giving us your talents, you left us way too soon 🙏🎸

Beautiful song and a nice Reaction
Ohh thank you our big brother 🙂
Great song, great album, great reaction !! Love you too !!

One of my all time favorite songs....there's a longer version...worth listening to!!! Try Foreplay/Long Time next!!!

I find it amusing watching young people listening to old music.
I was 16 when this song came out - it was the time of first girlfriend - and it was really more than m(a)ny feeling’s

Great song. So many memories.
Yeah it's amazing how high his voice gets.
Wonderful reaction...thank you! Good journey :) Peace!
LOve your enthusiasm!
The studio recording is far superior to this live performance. The sound is warped.
Music is therapy👍🏻👍🏻! What a great way to look at it! It is for me as well! This was a really good song and just had a lot of good energy!!! Loved your reaction Sarah!!! Have a great weekend and stay well 👍🏻👍🏻😀❤️
Thank you Anne! Have a wonderful week!
This is the PERFECT Rock song

Off of the best debut album of all time…period.RIP,Brad Delp…you were a helluva singer and left us too soon.
Very under rated band! Way ahead of their time and never has any other band since them matched what they were able to achieve to this day!
OK I'm old, still have a cassette/cd player in my pickup. Boston is ALWAYS in the cassette , more than a feeling is usually in the cd player.
My Fav. B.SONG❤
You are beaufiful !
Fun! Much love ❤️ Sue
Remarkable!
Amazing reaction one of my favs. But wow please listen to the studio version. Blows this away by a million J's
If you really want to be uplifted try Boston “don’t look back “ it will definitely lift your spirits
Another song you should listen to is Kim Mitchell's "All We Are"
❤❤❤
😎👍
There were many groups named after cities and states ba then. Try some Kansas next dear.
Any song in particular?
Lovely commentary
A lovely woman like you should never have a bad day.
I love how your generation discovers our youth treasures 😀
This song makes me think of so many songs that I want to recommend but to just pick one... "Radar Love" by 'Golden Earring'
Thank you 🙂
Rip Brad Delp vocals and sib the drummer
No auto-tuners.
The words are sad, it is about taking a girl for granted. If you can drop the lyrics and listen to the voice as simply an instrument you may find yourself coming away from it with fireworks coming out your ears and ass while skating on rainbows.
Road trip music.
i always wonder if it hurt to sing that high
Just think. In 40 years there will be reaction videos to reaction videos.
This is the super-abbreviated version and not the radio airplay version. You should have listened to the studio version.
Sarah are you ok?
Yes I am, thanks for asking 😊
Sarah, I have a song suggestion that I know you are gonna love. It is Dust In The Wind by Kansas.❤
Autotune didnt exist back then either !!
Too bad he felt the need to take his own life! But what a talent.
Brad Delp sure could hit those high notes.
I wish that he hadn't committed suicide.
