When you dropped the needle on this first Boston album way back in the '70's this was the first song you heard. Then it rolled into "Peace of Mind" (which you need to react to next) Then side one ended with "Foreplay/Longtime"
When you picked yourself off of the floor you flipped the album over and continued on your Boston journey.
    Have fun.

Tom Scholz has a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. The record company needed a band to promote the album on its release, so that's when Scholz added other members and the were used for subsequent touring. This debut album by Boston, released in 1976, remained the biggest selling debut album by a band in rock history, until Guns and Roses Appetite for Destruction debut album surpassed it in 2018.

Here's a fun fact. Band founder Tom Scholtz recorded, by his admission, 96% of the album by himself before bringing in Brad Delp to record the vocal tracks. Also, the only song on the album that was recorded in a professional studio, was 'Let me take you home tonight' written and sung by Brad Delp. It was recorded at CBS studios in Los Angeles, unlike the rest of the album which was recorded in the basement studio of Scholtz's Watertown, Massachusetts home, part of the greater Boston area. On a less happy note, Brad Delp, whose amazing vocals will always be associated with the Boston sound, passed away on March 9, 2007, when he took his own life via carbon monoxide poisoning, at his home in Atkinson, New Hampshire. But he will never really be gone. Because every time someone puts on a Boston album and cranks up the volume, his legacy Springs to life, and he is with us once again!

"Nothing from Nothing" is a great song!!! That's one thing people do not understand about music from the '60s and '70s...we didn't listen to just one type of music. I listened to good music...no matter who put it out! I had everything from the Beatle's to Boston to America to The Temptations to Jimmy Hindrix to Led Zeppelin to The Jackson 5 to Elton John....and on and on. Between me and my 3 brother's we amassed over 500 LP's....and countless 45's.

I remember when this album first came to the record stores in Boston. This young kid worked with his buddy at a downtown Boston record store and they got 10 copies of this new album.. He and his pal took a 5 min break.. smoked a joint and listened to the first side downstairs of the record store.. They were so blown away they put it on the turntable and played it on their outside speakers on the sidewalk. Those 10 copies sold out in less than 1 hour. They called and ordered 50 more for overnight delivery and the distributor said that will cost a lot more to fedex it overnight. They didn't care, they paid the shipping and ordered 50 more copies that sold out the next day by 3pm the day they came in....One of Rocks top 10 best albums and maybe the best created by one man, Tom Schultz who created the whole thing in his basement as a M.I.T. Masters Degree student...

My first time on this gal's channel and I love her reaction. "Perfect" and "hard to beat" no argument there. Forty some years later this music absolutely holds up..

I've watched a fair few reactions to this masterpiece but yours girl has to be one of the best, to really appreciate the whole production of the music & vocals you have to listen to it without reading the lyrics, then you will see the true reaction of emotions & appreciation for this epic piece

What can I say? An amazing, if not the best reaction ever to this song. Such detail noting in real time. Realizing now that doing "reaction" videos is like exercising a gift or an art.
Regarding the guitar solo, what was it that you said? "Like annointing a royal king in space" Wow. I've been watching reactions to this song in particular to the solo, often not recognized. Yours, perfectly put.

And the best song on the album is "Hitch A Ride", but don't think that every song on the album isn't 🔥🔥🔥
