@nrawayne I was fortunate enough to see Queen live in 1976 and 1977. Mr Fahrenheit (Mercury) was the best front person I'd ever seen live! I saw both "A Night at the Opera" and "A Day at the Races" tours. And Freddie was a prolific songwriter. He was one of the best at writing crossover songs (rock/prog rock/pop). Being the best at something (when there's no actual award) is a matter of opinion. Top 5? For me, a resounding YES!!
Freddie could sing, his charisma- that swagger, and his musicianship put him light years ahead of any other frontman. The only lead singer that matched him- in charisma-swagger only (not voice or musicianship)- was David Lee Roth. Those two had eyes glued to them when they were on stage. But Freddie was talented and beautiful, and there will never be another like him.
Watching young people discovering Queen is such a joy for me. Academically the brightest group that ever came together, and they sought fame for the money. They were best together, and Brian, the deepest thinker who wrote this song, didn't write it for art sake. He wrote it to make money! Freddie always craved adulation, but Brian and Roger weren't far behind him. John was just pleased to be part of the band, he wasn't a singer but he wrote some of the band's best songs and was totally an equal partner.
This one was written by the guitarist Brian May. He based it on the propensity of Freddy Mercury to enjoy the 'thick' men/women in his life. Each member of Queen wrote hit songs. Great band. Freddy had swag for DAYS!
“One Vision - Live at Wembley” “Somebody to Love - Live at Montreal” “You Take My Breath Away” (studio version) “I Want It All” “One Year of Love” “Don’t Stop Me Now” “Stone Cold Crazy”
I love Queen and miss Freddie every day! Not one bad song! Thank you for checking out Greatness! You should watch the movie...you would be blown away how they made music.
I legit love your reactions to my era of music, and take it from me a 40 something who was at Live Aid to see this genius first hand there has never been, nor ever will be a performer like Freddie. And p.s. you are gorgeous. Xx
In my opinion 1 of the best songs of all time. Buy the CD and play it through even a half descent car or home audio system then try to tell me differently. Regards, Jas. VK4FJGS Rocky Qld.
This is such a great song, but this song turn Epic when Queen plays it Live!! Try this song live at Milton Keynes, and you will totally understand! Queen again breaks through barriers in the 70s when they write about everything no one else dares write! Such a liberating song back in the day!! Great reaction!
Reminder: Freddie had experienced loving relationships with women. He knew what he was talking about. Resist putting people into neat little boxes. Life's complicated.
Awesome! The "get on your bikes and ride" line was a reference to the companion song "bicycle race". the music video was really daring: it had a bunch of models riding bikes naked! (with the acceptation of baseball caps, shoes and socks)! Check out "let me entertain you" live in Tokyo!
Never heard a song by queen that i didn't like. No disrespect to any songs that people have suggested here, but if you love great harmony (and queen does it alot, better than most) Bohemian Rhapsody is a must!
You wanna see Freddie hold 80,000 people in the palm of his hand? React to Live Aid. Best freakin' live performance in musical history. (I should say 6 billion people since Live Aid was broadcast worldwide)
Queen was awesome and so are your reactions. You're the best Scribe. Another great song by them is Killer Queen. Also since in another video you asked about other bands, here are 2, Fleetwood Mac and Heart.
You are as confident on your channel as Freddie Mercury is on stage. And that is pretty much the definition of confidence. If you can strut around on stage the way he does in front of thousands of people...... You could do anything.
You have got the greatest personality i ever seen! Loaded with energy, hahaha!!! Hate to see you go but that's what you gotta do when your not getting treated right👍
@@98Dreadboy He was engaged, but had an affair with a man and told his partner before they got married. From what I understand, he still loved her but also loved men
I was so happy when this song came out! Back then the stick figure body was considered attractive! So it was about time they paid homage to us curvy girls! And, I really don't think Freddie knew much about fat bottomed girls!
You have to react to some Pentatonix, the best acapella group in the world IMHO. They did a cover of Queen 'Bohemian Rhapsody' that's insane, no instruments, just their voices.
Check out the best dis song ever, Queen’s “Death on Two Legs” written by Freddie Mercury. The song was aimed towards their first manager who seemed to be profiting from Queen while the members of the band were suffering financially. I saw an interview with Brian May where he said he felt the song was a bit harsh but went along with recording it. You can feel the venom in the lyrics!!
Bohemian Rhapsody .. freddy mercury was hot as f*** even after you find out that he was gay. huge lost to the world. extraordinary band,,, live is mind blowing. btw, you are excellent doing this, you got it for sure. hello from newfoundland , canada.. be safe!

Do “Now I’m Here” from the Live Killers album (not the original studio version). He does a great sing a long with the audience, and Brian May’s guitar rips. It’s overlooked and one of their best. Another hidden gem of theirs is “It’s Late”, which is a rocking song but kind of haunting because Freddie hints he doesn’t have long for this world.
I don't know where you've heard the last part but it's not true of course. First of all the song is written by Brian and second, it's made 1977. Ten years before Freddie even found out he had AIDS.
It’s Late is totally not about or written by Freddie. Brain wrote it, and it’s about a man torn between an unfulfilling relationship and another lover. Written in 1977, long long before Freddie was diagnosed.
@@sannaolsson9106 I knew that but it doesn't matter. When he sings "I ain't got long" you can't help but think of things to come for Freddie. The song seems even more prophetic in a way. The whole theme of "It's Late" fits Freddie more than Brian.
@@niched1 Yeah but you said the song hinted that and it's just not true. It's even impossible lol. Can it be applied to Freddie's situation yesrs and years later when we know what we know?? Of cpurse. It makes you think of the but the song is of course not about that.
@@sannaolsson9106 In English/literature class we called it foreshadowing. The fact that it is not literally true I think makes it even more haunting. That's all I was getting at. Obviously, I was talking about the effect of the song today considering Freddie's fate. Of course you're right that was not the intention of the song. And of course you would probably be right if you said Freddie Mercury probably did not go for fat bottomed girls -- even though he sings he does ;)
In a later song Bicycle he says Fat bottom girls are riding today.
Was he not the most beautiful, sexiest man ever? Not to mention that voice & charisma!
Could eat an apple through chickenwire.
This young lady is the great. She recognizes that this dude on stage with no shirt is unlike anything else in the music industry.
Queen is one of the best concerts I have seen. No one had more swag than Freddie, more Queen please!
Agreed!! Freddie Mercury was the quintessential front man!! I saw Queen live in 1976 & 77!! Awesome!!! 💙💙💙💙
I saw Queen in 1977. Freddie had incredible charisma on stage. And they all gave 110% to the audience. Great concert.

Freddie could sing, his charisma- that swagger, and his musicianship put him light years ahead of any other frontman. Classic song. RIP Freddie! Holy cow - your voice ma’am - is amazing!!!

I have SO much fun watching you. You’re my absolute favorite reaction channel now.
I've watched you react to a lot of 60s/70s classics, your fun you listen but most of all you get it, thanks for sharing.
Saw this played in Paris. A load of particular built nude models cycled across the stage. Along with Freddie's on stage antics? Hilarious!
"he's got so much swag"... Damn right - Freddie is the king/queen of swag!
My favorite Queen song. A lot of sadness in his story, but he found happiness toward the end.

I don't even actually like this song but you made me love it! Great reaction! Keep it going!
Brighton Rock from Queen's Sheer Heart Attack album. A delightful little ballad.

Freddie Mercury was a force of nature. Do some more exploring. Rock on....
