      This and "Big Balls" were a huge middle finger to radio censorship back when they were written. In turn, they owe a hat tip to Edythe Wright and Tommy Dorcey for "Shoot the sherbet to me Herbert" (1938) And Harry Roy for "My Girl's Pussy" (1931)

      I saw them live nearly every single week, paid a couple of dollars for the privilege, Australia in the 1970's was the best place to be, having to decide between seeing Acca Dacca and bands like TMG on the weekends was actually a dilemma - also the Farris Brothers (later INXS) love my youth, wouldn't change it for all the money in the world.

You mentioned the "Chuck Berry", that move is known as the "duck walk"... and Angus Young from AC/DC is (as far as I know) the only other guy to ever do it. Check out a couple... or all of these for more "duck walk".: "Thunderstruck" (official video), "Who Made Who" (official video) and "Ballbreaker" ("No Bull Live - Madrid, Spain 1996). Cheers, thanks for your "The Jack" video! 👍🎶

  • @J3scribe

    I love the way you pick up on the subtleties of the music. Most people would never connect this song with gospel music, but you did, employing that blues connection. For someone your age, grown up in a world of contrived and formulaic pop music, I love your desire to seek out what came before, and to share that experience in order to validate it. There's an old saying that goes; people who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it. Unfortunately that bon mot doesn't apply to music, for if that was the case Samantha Fish would be a goddess and Justin Bieber wouldn't have a recording contract.
    Go listen to some Samantha Fish. React to her however you like. And I'll know you will like. Chica plays the blues on a guitar made out of beer cans.

      She actually looked shocked and offended by his reveal...interestingly, it's progressed from doing a straight shoot the moon with a bare ass, as when I saw them in 79. Even ACDC has had to yield to PC culture by keeping the dance but putting on boxers - great chance to market to audiences with local flags etc. Tasteful strip tease - remember they are from Scotland/Australia where a sense of humor still presides.

    And have you figured out what Angus outfit is all about it originates because that is his school uniform he used to get home from school and get straight into playing in it so when they formed straight after school his sister told him he should wear it as he was a 16 yr old schoolboy his sister also came up with the name from the side of her sewing machine

    The original jack was on the AC/DC high voltage album in which is about a card game, bon scott’s writing of the song was brilliant

    • @piwaka50
      @piwaka50 2 года назад

      nah bro.. it ain't about no card game bro.. in Aussie the "Jack" is the "Clap" ..Gonorrhea.. venereal disease.. in the early days when acdc were partying they all got the Jack.. so they wrote this song.. all the girls in that crowd know what the Jack is bro..

      That was the genius of Bon’s writing, a song about venereal disease disguised as a card game. No one but Bon could do that , Big Balls is another masterpiece.

    Ha! Thx girl!!! Yep- told ya Angus had a lil’ surprise in there for ya! It’s actually because he gets so hot under the lights- he found an “interesting “ way to cool off without leaving the stage. Legendary for dang sure! At the very end Bryan Johnson (lead singer) takes off full on running down the runway with mad speed- Thx for getting to it- told ya before that the beat and rhythm was what got me too!! now we gotta get some more Chris Stapleton out! Sending love to ya! 💛🤘🏼✌️💛
