When something is unbelievable, don’t believe it. Watch a number of “reaction” videos for the same song. They act like they’ve never heard a guitar solo or stereo before. And they all say similar stuff. Doesn’t ring true. They all pause at similar places, “oh I wasn’t expecting that” they say, yet they pause before they’ve fully heard the bit they weren’t expecting. This is marketing.

I knew 1 Queen song by name & group; "We Are The Champions", from the movie Flash Gordan, & from the local skating rink. I knew the song "Another One Bites The Dust" by name, but NOT by group, also from the local skating rink. I had no idea who sang most of the rock songs I heard there. I wasn't into this kind of music growing up. I mostly listened to country, or pop music. Micheal Jackson, Whitney Houston, the Bangles, Etc.
You could be right about people faking it, but If I never did, & I'm over 40, why is it so hard to believe that Millennials & others wouldn't have heard it. Not everyone has the same experiences, & exposure...

Lfc Rules hahaha, yes ! Of course this was said with much affection and respect... as we know, these 4 guys loved like brothers, shared like brothers , and yes *fought* like brothers.
Freddie also spoke often about these “delicate harmonies” being only possible with Roger’s and Brian’s voices joined with his. He wrote those grandiose harmonies in his songs specifically geared to take best advantage of their ranges and abilities.
The unique blend of these voices : Freddie/Roger/Brian (and at very limited times, John) is a huge part of the signature Queen sound. (As you already know....we run into each other all the time on Queen reaction videos! 😁)

I apologise if someone else has told you this previously, but this song was written by Freddie Mercury the lead singer who was brought up in a conservative and religious (Zoroastrian) family. It's about him being gay and how he felt about how that affected his family's love towards him.
That personal touch of dismay and fear coupled with the amazing musicality is what IMO makes this song so great.
I was 12 when it was released and even at that callow age I knew that I was hearing something that had never quite been heard before.
Your reaction was beautiful and brought echoes from my first hearing back to my heart.

It was basically three songs he wanted to put out that he simply put into one song. He had been working on different parts for a while. The first part of the song comes from a song simply known as the cowboy song he was working on. The whole song was basically Freddie's from start to finish. And he directed the others on there parts to get it the way he wanted it. Fun fact even though some artist's made video clips to accompany there songs this was basically the first True music video.

make it freer in form than a set of variations." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhapsody_(music) and yes, it is a masterpiece. it cannot be compared to most music in any way shape or form, there are very few pieces of music that are on it's level.

Now you know how we felt back in '75 when this was released. We were staring at our radios, unable to believe what we were hearing. And keep in mind this was off Queen's 5th album, A Night at the Opera. We were already used to them doing amazing stuff for their past four albums. Then, they out do themselves on this.
The song is pure genius. It closely follows the classical rhapsody form, and at the same time stays in the form of a rock anthem. Nobody ever did that before. The vocal and guitar harmonies are sublime: and their drummer, Roger Taylor, sang the high parts, AND played drums at the same time!
It may interest you to know that the guitarist, Brian May, holds a Ph.D in astrophysics, and works with NASA when he's not playing music. He was on the team for the New Horizons mission to Pluto. They were like "We want to send a probe the size of a piano, traveling for 9 years, to a planet 3.2473 billion miles away, take photos, and get a ton of scientific data while it flies past at 38,000 MPH." He was like "Hold my beer."

Loved your reaction to this timeless masterpiece.
All the opening harmonies are all Freddie, he sounds just amazing.
This song was actually 3 songs that Freddie could never finish, so he decided to combine them into one song.
You really missed out on the total Queen BoRap experience by not watching the original music video for this song.
The video revolutionized how music promos were created.
The video is credited to being responsible for the creation of MTV and VH1.
Please react to the official video, you won't be disappointed.
The song doesn't say that his mother killed someone.
Freddie was saying that he killed someone.
I think that you're the only reactor to notice Brian Mays tickling guitar sound after Freddie sang, "sent shivers down my spine".
All four members of Queen have composed hit singles.
The only musical group to do this and all four were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003.
Queen has lasted thru generations of listeners because they weren't afraid to experiment with the Queen sound.
Sometimes, their fans and critics didn't realize Queen's true genius.
Queen was ahead of the times.
They recorded the first Thrash Metal song, Stone Cold Crazy.
Queen has a fantastic catalog of music.
Their live concert recordings are amazing.
My personal opinion, I think they sounded better live.
So many songs are under-rated gems, they're just waiting for music listeners to discover.
A few amazing songs to start off listening to are:
Queen -Live Aid Wembley -13 July 1985 - Complete
Freddie holding his mic in one hand and the audience in his other, all 72,000 at Wembley and the other 1.9 billion watching Live Aid on tv. Queen stole the show from 75+ other performers. This performance has been voted the best live rock 'n roll performance ever. Freddie was advised by doctors not to perform at Live Aid due to a throat infection, he obviously didn't take the doctors' advice. Make sure to wait for the evening encore by Freddie and Brian at 6:48 PM.

    ruclips.net/video/aA2IRoPFIn0/видео.html
Queen - The Show Must Go On (Official Video) Freddie Mercury was so ill when the band recorded the song in 1990 that Brian May had concerns as to whether he was physically capable of singing it. Recalling Freddie's performance, Brian states; "I said, 'Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing.' And he went, 'I'll fucking do it, darling' - drank vodka - and went in and killed it, completely lacerated that vocal".
    ruclips.net/video/t99KH0TR-J4/видео.html
Queen - Don't Stop Me Now (Official Video) Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” is the world’s most effective song to make you feel good.
    ruclips.net/video/HgzGwKwLmgM/видео.html
Queen - It's Late (Official Lyric Video) A truly, very under-rated Queen gem.

Yes, as you described it, it is a masterpiece. That's why (as some others have commented) it seems rather incredulous that you haven't heard it before. Of course, coming from a graybeard such as myself who bought Queen's first album when I was in high school, it could simply be a generational thing. Most of the suggestions you're getting for other Queen songs to listen to are from later offerings, but there are some solid songs on their first album. "Liar" with some nice harmonizing and "Keep Yourself Alive" with some good 'ol rocking come to mind. Check them out.

🙋🏾‍♀️ Vegan Todd 💁🏾‍♀️ Funny how you say this might be a generational thing that ScribeCash might not have seen (or heard) this song before. I know many reactioners who’ve gone down the Queen rabbit hole quickly discovered they’d in fact have ‘heard’ of their songs before, but was not aware that those songs were done by them. Bo-Rhap was initially reintroduced to to the young ‘90’s generations via Wayne’s World movie...today’s youth have been introduced via Bo-Rhap biopic.
There a quite a number of rock groups from the 60’s on that have huge ‘hits’ doin’ their times...and many may still get airtime today; however, one would have to be listening to that type of music genre to recognize the songs today. If one’s not listening to it, they wouldn’t know. So I would give ScribeCash (& other young reactioners new to the ‘rock genres’...especially eclectic ‘progressive/glam/psychodelic’ rock genre that’s not typically heard as much as ‘classic rock’ ✌🏾.
