“This is crazy.” Yep, and welcome to the 1970’s! And also welcome to the world of Queen and Freddie Mercury and good music. Your favorite song for the next couple of weeks? This song has been one of my favorite songs for the last 47 years (this song was released when I was in high school) and I am not alone in that, not by a long shot. This is a favorite song of millions of people. What genre is it? The genre is: Queen. Cuz Queen is pretty much in a league of its own. Sure, Queen has a signature sound but I don’t think they have a signature type of music cuz their vast catalog covers such a range of music over decades. Musicians before them paced their way, and the musicians of Queen paved the way for the music which came later. Glad you are opening yourself up to different kinds of music and while you do that, please keep listening to Queen. It’s worth the time. Also, condolences to you for the loss of your cousin; that’s rough! Hang in there!

My parents got me "A Night at the Opera" when I was 11 in 1975 (because they were opera fans and thought it was opera). Haha I fell in love with this song, Prophet's Song, Love of my Life, etc.

We both had our windows down and I looked over as the guy started to sing loudly "I see a little silhouetto of a man"... As he was singing he looked over at me. Without missing a beat I came in with the "thunderbolts of lightning" part. He yelled "hell yeah here we go!" We exchanged Galileos then the light turned green and he turned. Greatest song ever!

Dont have word enough to express how happy i feel when i see new generations appreciating the enigma of Queen. The symbiotic relationship these 4 had shines through in every song. The music , the VOICES remain unparalleled. Doesnt need to be another 'Queen', because they truly will live forever.
I love watching people who do reactions to the music I grew up with. Freddie, mercury and queen were an incredible band . On the radio, they were played under rock stations. Another band you should check out is Jethro Tull. Ian anderson was the lead singer and brought and played the flute in rock music. Pick some of the live versions in 1977. Jethro tull was formed in 1967 and played in every decade including now. Every bandmember is a master musician. I've seen them twelve times in five of the seven decades they have played. I'm so glad you got to experience Queen. They have a very large catalog of great songs. Rock On!
"This guy has a great voice". Ahh yes young grasshopper 😁. 💚 No one commanded an entire stage and stadium like Freddie Mercury. A band of geniuses and incredible musicians.
Considered one of the greatest songs in rock history. You definitely need to react to Somebody to Love live in Montreal from 1981. Roger Taylor, the drummer, also has an incredible voice. Also react to Queen at Live Aid from July 13, 1985 at Wembley Stadium in London. It is considered probably the greatest live performance of all time
Absolutely agree. Queen are one of few bands that are always as good (some argue they are better) live as the studio versions. And as for the “show” ….. Freddie Mercury is an incredible showman/frontman as well as having the most compelling voice of all time (in my opinion)
For me, Queen is the definition of genre defining. Or similarly, genre bending band. Their production ideas, with their GOAT level talent, they were truly above superior. They could mix, blend genres, yet make a catchy banger which could sound totally normal. They were just differently good.
I remember my Mum asking me if my hi-fi could play records. I was like, yea. On Xmas day I had a single from Santa in my stocking, Bohemian Rhapsody. It was early so I put my headphones on an listened to it, again and again and again. Probably about 15 times. She died of cancer in 2012 and had a lot of problems. Sometimes I forget that, that one Xmas, she just wanted me to hear this song. I'm still loving you Robina Brown, my mother.
I watch a lot of these "first time reaction " videos but this is the first time I have seen yours. YOU my young man just made my entire day. Maybe my entire week ! I mean that sincerely. Considering I am a month shy of 60 years old and this song came out when I was but a young teenager, in the 1970s, your reaction has touched ME in the same way that I think this song has touched you. Thank you for opening up your mind, body and soul, to the classics of rock and roll. You reactions and commentary just were mind blowing but true blue in every sense of the words. Thank you and keep on rocking to those sounds of the 70s !
Hehe yeah Eric ditto for me. This youngin has gone down the rabbit hole :) I think the best vid of this song is Green Day playing just the notes before they played in the UK, the mammoth crowd did the rest :D
58 myself, Erin! In total agreement with your comment. I've seen more than a dozen of these reactions - OK, more than 20 - and this is one of my favourites.
To those of us who have been listening to Queen from the beginning it is so heartwarming to watch you discover them - congratulations on your OPEN mind and heart !!! I have tried to keep up with music trends through the years and appreciate each genre and each era but nothing has made me think about life like the music of the 70's. Be well !
Yeah, Prog rock focusses on studio arrangement, but the special thing about Queen is that they managed to bring their perfectly-engineered songs on stage!
This is a rhapsody. It’s a masterpiece made up of different sections of a composition. Basic musical definition of a rhapsody. And Freddie Mercury was legendary genius. There will never be another. ❤️
Freddie's probably the greatest tenor of all time, that was probably naturally a baritone. He's unreal. Unmatched. Dude sang opera in some of the biggest operatic productions of that era and went back out the next day and sold out an arena. There will never be another.
1975 is when this song came out. It is iconic and beautiful. Queen is 4 people but the opening acapella is only Freddie multi-tracked. The rest is the whole band. You have missed so much, there is so much great music you need to listen to. Queen is one of the greatest bands ever and Freddie Mercury with his unique voice is one of the greatest singers of all time. You need to watch Queen live, Freddie is said to be the best frontman ever. This band really will blow your hair back with every performance. Each of the 4 members are super talents and each wrote number 1 songs for the band. All are college educated with degrees, the guitar player, Brian May having a PhD in Astrophysics and does some work with NASA. Queen has over 200 songs in their catalog some of which I am sure you have heard, just didn't know who wrote or performed the songs. There is tons more to the Queen story but for now, thank you for your wonderful reaction. This is probably under the heading of Rock Opera but Queen never had a style, they did everything. With 4 writers with different tastes in music, Queen covered all genres. What they did always have was great harmonies, amazing songs and a sound like no other band. If it is Freddie's voice you want to hear, as mentioned below, Somebody to Love, Live at Montreal, but also, White Queen, live at Odeon, Hammersmith and You Take My Breath Away, live at Hyde Park. Freddie was/is my favorite vocalist of all time and he nails every performance and wows the crowd every time.
@@RonaldSimkin I have heard Dimash plenty of times, and he is impressive but he has technology on his side so I still give the crown to Freddie. Queen recorded on 8, 16 and 24 track analog tape, as did Elvis, Roy Orbison, Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Elton John, The Beatles and the rest of the great singers from those years. I have seen Freddie live, nobody comes close to him in sheer vocal talent. Dimash is worthy of your praise but Freddie is still the legend and for good reasons.
@@nyrockchicxx Yes, the images show all 4 Queen band members at the intro, but that was for purposes of recording the video. The very beginning intro was Freddie, multitracked, harmonizing with himself. This video is credited with being the first actual video done to promote a song. Back in their beginnings, managers had “contracts” with someone that they chose who did videos on the cheap! Often included snippets of old movies, cartoons, and perhaps some of the band. 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️. Queen hired a Sports Camera crew directed by Bruce Gowers to do this video and the band had ideas how they wanted it filmed. Their publicity manager was very upset because it would be so expensive. It played on Englands “Top of the Pops” as Queen was touring elsewhere. Public demand kept the video playing for a few weeks, the record went to #1 for 9 weeks MTV WAS NOT BORN YET!! Queen kicked off the true Music Video, other bands began to follow! MTV was born a few years later. This song has been #1 in 3 different decades: After original release, after the movie Wayne’s World, and again recently after the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. 😊
@@nyrockchicxx That is a video and the video is lip synced to the studio recording. It is no secret that the intro is all Freddie, Brian and Roger both speak about it whenever they discuss the recording of the song.
Im old and because of that I was fortunate to see them live over 30 times. Every show amazing. Keep on searching Bro the best music comes from that era
It's never too late to discover Queen. I fell in love with the Fugees version back in 1996 and a classmate (who is now my best friend) told me that I really needed to hear the original. They made me a mixtape mostly of the Greatest Hits albums and the rest is history. I've been watching your Queen reactions and I like your analysis of the lyrics and how they relate to you personally. Keep it up!
What is this song? Well, it’s considered one of the greatest rock songs ever written. And Freddie Mercury (lead singer) is considered one of the greatest singers. If you decide to go down this rabbit hole and we all hope you do, you’ll even find videos of Freddie singing opera with Montserrat Caballe. They are mind blowing. Looking forward to more Queen reactions! ❤️
I absolutely love watching peoples’ reactions to this song. I remember when it first came out. We all had the same reaction. It was not like anything we had ever heard before.
"Somebody to love" "Fat Bottom Girls" "another one bites the dust" "We are the champions" "We will rock you" "Radio ga ga" "Love of my life" "Under Pressure" "Don't Stop me now" "Bicycle" "I want to break free" "You're my best friend" "Who wants to live forever" basically you can't go wrong with a Queen song.
A Rhapsody is a series of unconnected sections stitched together to make a whole ... this is an a capella ballad, an opera and a rocker all in one vid! Basically, it's the crime of killing a man, confession to his momma, the trial and the aftermath ... it's exhausting!! But brilliant, no one could do it like Freddie and Queen. You might try the Greenday concert crowd singing BoRhap before the concert started, I think you'd enjoy it.
"This guy has a great voice!"...OMG Yes a thousand times. There will NEVER be another Freddy Mercury. The world could not survive that much talent and unadulterated beauty TWICE!
Love watching people seeing this for the 1st time....Great reaction! This was the 70's, an awesome time for music. No boundaries, no colors, no hurt feelings, no apologies....just people doing their thing, I just hit subscribe!
I'm sorry for your loss. You're not a Debbie Downer, it's great that you can take from their work and apply it to your life personally. I think that's the whole point of music, is to convey common ground, and share thought/emotion. So, if it evokes emotion, and thought then that doesn't make you a downer at all, you connected with it. I think this song feels inspirational, heavy and uplifting all at once for many people, if you haven't seen the film Bohemian Rhapsody, I highly recommend it. It will give you a better idea of what was happening in the world and in the group and singer's lives at the time this song was written. Thank you for your video.
Queen was 1 of my favorites growing up. Freddie Mercury's voice was undeniable RIP Freddie. Got to see them live a few times just awesome. Definitely more Queen
This is operatic. I remember listening to this with friends as a high school Sophomore in the 1970s. WE WERE BLOWN AWAY. We were at a party, and stopped the party and we all listened to it. We had bought the brand new album, released that same day. Everyone listened and we played the song again and again. The local radio station played this song at 12:10 every day for a year. So our whole high school of 700+ students sang the song during school lunch, the air guitars wailing. It was an event every day. This was my generation's anthem! Thanks for reaction. You have great natural insights.
When they came out with this song they were told that no one would play it on the radio because it was too long and it would be a flop. The people who said that really were kicking themselves when they were proven wrong.
I'm sorry for your loss, music takes us down many roads. Glad you're checking out all these different genres, so much talent in the world. Try a listen to Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé's Barcelona!
Makes me smile watching you enjoy Queen and Freddie Mercury's distinctive voice! I am 61 now and back in the day I saw Queen live in concert in my home town in Manchester England and also Birmingham....a life long memory I cherish......
What genre is it you ask ? It says it in the title, it's a miscellaneous / highly emotional collection of genres ! Definition of rhapsody 1 : a portion of an epic poem adapted for recitation. 2 archaic : a miscellaneous collection. 3a(1) : a highly emotional utterance. (2) : a highly emotional literary work.
One of the single best songs of all time, any genre any era. Only a few pieces of music really last centuries and this will be one of them...already 50 and still getting new fans.
If you want a song you'll certainly add to your playlist, I suggest Queen's Live in Montreal version of Somebody to Love. The studio version is great too but the live version blows your socks off.
I love watching you respond to Freddie and Queen! I'm old and continue to feel the same way each time I hear them! What a terrible loss that Freddie died so young but they were and are a gift to the musical world.
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Queen. You will learn that they don’t have a signature style. They are in a class of their own. And Freddie? He was the greatest front man in rock and roll history. There will never be another Freddie Mercury.
This song graced us with a full-on assault on our auditory senses and was worth every single second! I am THRILLED that you share your thoughts about Queen/Freddie Mercury with us humble listeners. Freddie's voice was and will always be a thing of beauty and the music industry as a whole will NEVER be the same without him! Your observations are spot on and I can't wait to hear more!
So sorry for your loss😥 a very close friend took his life about 4 years ago, it just broke me😥, it has been about 2 years now since I have started listening to Queen's music and their reaction videos, it's kind of like a positive uplifting therapy, their songs are relatable--all of their songs have such meanings, Freddie's voice and Queen as a whole band... wow!! Can't wait to see more from you👑🎶❣️ thank you!
This was number one here in the UK when my mum died. I was a 15 year old kid who was taught music and exposed to many different genres and although I lack any kind of talent myself, I gained a deep appreciation for music. I became very emotionally tied up with this song and it reminds me of the person who planted the seeds in my mind. To see a young guy from almost two generations later listen to this and form an attachment to it warms my heart. Love your reaction man.
You have just watched the most talented musician EVERRRRR... Loved your reaction ,you were taken away and that's what Queen did..Freddie was a pure entertainer...peace to you 🥰
I don’t know how people can just listen to one genre. I love listening to most and there are sooo many good songs out there in all genre’s (country only has a few).

Thank you!!! Welcome to the world of passion, love of music, real stories and the willingness to die for your story being told through a song! Love this! Thank you!
Loved your reaction! Welcome to the world of music that we grew up in~The 60's and 70's had some of the greatest music ever-the golden age of rock 'n roll. So proud of your willingness to broaden your musical education. You won't regret it!
The greatest entertainer ever. Love Freddy Mercury and Queen. I can’t believe you have never heard this song. Watch them live at the live aide concert. You will watch it over and over again. I never get tired of watching it. RIP Freddy
It is called symphonic rock. They made tracks of what they sang and then sang another melody on the sang so they sound like a choir with multiple voices.
THE BEST SONG IN THE WORLD !!!! absolutely stupendous!!! I was lucky enough to be one of the people who watched them performing this on tv for the first time....stunned then, still stunned now!❤❤❤
I am very sorry for the loss of your cousin. It sounds like your grief is still very fresh. If you don't mind, a song and video I find comforting is Delta Rae, Dance in the Graveyard. This song is considered a part of the Rock Opera trend in the 1970s. This first part of the song is when he has just killed someone and believes his life is over and has regret and guilt, then he becomes frightened and wants to flee, then he becomes defiant and angry and at last he is resigned to his fate. It's an entire operatic tragedy in one song and it's brilliant and groundbreaking.
This 1975 masterpiece composition is called a Rock Opera. Some other well known classics include: Pink Floyd "The Wall" The Who "Tommy" Meat Loaf "Bat out of hell" (he recently passed away...RIP) Most younger folks don't realize that they have heard QUEEN (or other classic rock artists/bands) before - in movies, playing on the radio in the background at the store or in the car, played at sporting events, etc. They just didn't know who the artist/band was or never knew the name of the song. QUEEN was so influential & each member of the band has written chart topping hit song(s), that are still heard around the world today. This is one awesome rabbit hole to explore & you won't be disappointed. My recommendations for more QUEEN reactions: Somebody to love (live version is best), We will rock you We are the champions Crazy little thing called love (my top favorite) Fat bottomed girls I want to break free Radio Ga Ga (Lady Gaga's favorite & where she got her stage name from) Many people will suggest checking out QUEEN @ LIVE AID. Yes, that was an awesome show (I watched when it first aired in 1985). They were on stage for about 25 mins. But if you want the full experience of them in concert then I highly recommend: Queen at Wembley Stadium 1986 - it's not censored like Live Aid was, due to it being on national TV & the artists had to be on their best behavior (no profanity/cursing or other things deemed unsuitable for TV viewing).
Listen to all of Queens music. Brilliant. Freddie sings off beats. Need to listen a few times. One my all time favourite bands. Saw them in concert in Sydney Australia in the late 80s. Best ever. Thanks Freddie.
"Don't spit in eye, I'll slap you in the head." May your cousin RIP 🙏. My condolences. Queen is always on my Playlist. Glad you discovered Queens greatness.
👏👏👏 This song went to no. 1. and stayed there for 9 weeks. They recorded it in 6 different studios and Freddie was the only one who knew how it had to be sounded. He had 3 unfinished songs and put them together into this masterpiece.
When my daughter discovered Queen, she was so excited and then cried when I told her this song is 50 years old and Fred is dead. I’m so sorry about your cousin, that’s really rough. I’m 53 and grew up on Queen. They are doing a final tour this fall the ordinal guys with Adam Lambert fronting - who is equally as amazing in a different way to Freddie. A must see. Loved loved loved your reaction! React to Adam Lambert singing with Queen. Who wants to live forever, the show must go on or Somebody to Love all good ones. laughing at your throwing panties son. It’ Glam Rock or classic rock genre
I love my era. We didn't have computers and beats. We didn't have anything but guitars, drums, amps and synthesizers. Classic rock! Freddy Mercury and Queen. Respect!
There was a festival in England a while ago and they played this song before the band came on, watch it because the crowd are wild at this song even before the band, they song every word, it's worth a watch x
I watched it recently. It was an epic moment of humanity coming together in pure joy. Kudos to those people running the sound system for knowing the crowd and warming them up like only Queen could. The feeling of love coming off that crowd was palpable and I'm sure carried through to Green Day's performance.
Thank you for this reaction! It's so great to see someone who actually appreciates so much of what's going on here - the transitions!!!!!! The voice (there will never be another Freddie Mercury)!!! The harmonies!! It's all so wonderfully original. Never been done before this and hasn't been done since!

I should add Freddie was the man who composed this, and did so without any help And Freddie had the most incredible range. If he had not died, he may well have become one of the great opera singers. In any case, he is regarded as one of YJE Greatest singers in the history of rock. He is definitely considered to be the greatest frontman in rock history. And considering the company he is in... that says a hell of a lot.
Rock Opera!!! Younger generations were introduced to it in the movie…Wayne’s World. Funny/stupid movie BUT the scene with them jamming to THIS song is awesome!!! 👍🏻😂❤️

This falls into the area of rock opera and it is amazing. Freddy Mercury was a genius and very picky about putting this out in just the right way. In the movie he is asking the band members to do it over and over again at a higher key than I think they thought was possible. Beautiful piece of music and I never get tired of hearing it. their harmonies are perfection.

Sometimes I forget that, that one Xmas, she just wanted me to hear this song. I'm still loving you Robina Brown, my mother.
A beautiful way to remember your dear Mum. What a beautiful memory to share, your Mum gave you a lifelong present ☮️💜💎
Wow...a mom with a soul ... You were blessed ... She might not have had it all figured out, but she got it. And she passed it to you. ❤️
And you always will.
May Allah bless her with Paradise 🙏

This youngin has gone down the rabbit hole :)
I think the best vid of this song is Green Day playing just the notes before they played in the UK, the mammoth crowd did the rest :D
58 myself, Erin! In total agreement with your comment. I've seen more than a dozen of these reactions - OK, more than 20 - and this is one of my favourites.
everything you said-same for me! couldn't have said it better!
Oh Erin, best comment ever and wholeheartedly shared!!
To those of us who have been listening to Queen from the beginning it is so heartwarming to watch you discover them - congratulations on your OPEN mind and heart !!! I have tried to keep up with music trends through the years and appreciate each genre and each era but nothing has made me think about life like the music of the 70's. Be well !
Bohemian Rhapsody was (and arguably still IS) an INTERNATIONAL anthem.
It is considered as one of the best songs of all time.
@@romantashevRTyess!
Most people would consider Queen Progressive Rock. Welcome to the Queen rabbit hole...probably one of the greatest bands to ever be!
Yeah, Prog rock focusses on studio arrangement, but the special thing about Queen is that they managed to bring their perfectly-engineered songs on stage!
Number 2 behind the Beatles!
@@andyw.3048 "....but the special thing about Queen is that they managed to bring their perfectly-engineered songs on stage!"
As did Yes.
Number one band ever! Best vocalist!!!
Queen has made some of the most moving music.
Just so you know, Brian May solos (on guitar) must not be interrupted. They are magical.
Amen
@Ed Baumann I know x
Brian wrote all the guitar solos in Freddie's songs
Indeed. One of the greatest of all time, possibly under-appreciated because of Being In A Big Band Syndrome...
I hate guitar solos as a general rule, and I never miss/interrupt a Brian May solo.
You can SEE that the beginning is the whole band on the intro.
What a nice tribute
@@nyrockchicxx That is a video and the video is lip synced to the studio recording. It is no secret that the intro is all Freddie, Brian and Roger both speak about it whenever they discuss the recording of the song.
WOW, you've discovered QUEEN and Freddie! Fantastic ❤
….. yes yes we do ….! 🥰
Definitely my favourite Freddie song
Freddie ! SO ahead of his time...gone too soon... Bohemian Rhapsody almost tells it all in the first chorus...AND the SECOND CHORUS...
Freddie Alchymist Mercury
I absolutely love watching peoples’ reactions to this song. I remember when it first came out. We all had the same reaction. It was not like anything we had ever heard before.
The reaction of the transition when it goes to "I see a little silhouette of a man" is always so hysterical to me!
@@yelljal2764 yes!
I didn't hear for the first time until ~'89-'90 ish. I was a VERY confused teenager and called the radio station "what am I listening too?!!?"
Freddie The King 🤟🌷
"Somebody to love" "Fat Bottom Girls" "another one bites the dust" "We are the champions" "We will rock you" "Radio ga ga" "Love of my life" "Under Pressure" "Don't Stop me now" "Bicycle" "I want to break free" "You're my best friend" "Who wants to live forever" basically you can't go wrong with a Queen song.
Another one bites the dust was my jam when vacuuming! Lol!!!!! Until I aged I realized what the song meant!!!!
"Somebody to love" from the 1981 Montreal version. Best.
'49 is my all-time favorite Queen song. It really touches something in my soul.
Anotherone rides the bus! (I watched Weird Al just before getting sidetracked into Freddie Mercury)

Best of all, no auto tune, just real talent and bands loving the music they were making.
Yes I am sorry too and was sad to hear that news. Well said Precious Battle
Definition of rhapsody
1 : a portion of an epic poem adapted for recitation. 2 archaic : a miscellaneous collection. 3a(1) : a highly emotional utterance. (2) : a highly emotional literary work.
One of the single best songs of all time, any genre any era. Only a few pieces of music really last centuries and this will be one of them...already 50 and still getting new fans.
There's just something so magical in watching young people discover Queen and Freddie for the first time 😢
To me, the genre is “Queen”! They made their own music and changed “music” forever.
If you want a song you'll certainly add to your playlist, I suggest Queen's Live in Montreal version of Somebody to Love. The studio version is great too but the live version blows your socks off.
Yes!!!

I love watching you respond to Freddie and Queen! I'm old and continue to feel the same way each time I hear them! What a terrible loss that Freddie died so young but they were and are a gift to the musical world.
At first, I thought I would be upset that you stopped this iconic song mid-flow, but your overall reaction and enthusiasm made me happy. Subscribed.
So sorry for your loss😥
a very close friend took his life about 4 years ago, it just broke me😥, it has been about 2 years now since I have started listening to Queen's music and their reaction videos, it's kind of like a positive uplifting therapy, their songs are relatable--all of their songs have such meanings, Freddie's voice and Queen as a whole band... wow!!
Can't wait to see more from you👑🎶❣️ thank you!
The wonderful world of Freddie Mercury ❤️❤️❤️One of the greatest voices of the last 100 years
This was number one here in the UK when my mum died.
Queen 1 of the best uk bands ever listen to more of their songs amazing
I wish I could go back and relisten to this song for the first time again because it’s that spine chilling.
You have just watched the most talented musician EVERRRRR... Loved your reaction ,you were taken away and that's what Queen did..Freddie was a pure entertainer...peace to you 🥰
Absolutely impossible to drop Queen into a musical pigeon hole - they were unique! 💕
Welcome to my childhood…first album I ever bought with my own money! 45 years later I still have it! Rock On!!
My first album too AND with mu own money ❤
Freddie would have been glad to know he gave you a little tingle down there
I don’t know how people can just listen to one genre. I love listening to most and there are sooo many good songs out there in all genre’s (country only has a few).
FINALLY! Real music!!!! Not that I don’t love your other reaction videos, but THIS is a completely different level! Somehow this type of passion died and we’ve had to accept what is in front of us.
Check out “Somebody to love” live in Montreal 1981. Prepare to have your mind blown!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. I'm glad you have sweet beach memories to keep with you.
Queen definitely changed rock n' roll in the 70's, adding/mixing it with opera, we loved it.
The greatest entertainer ever. Love Freddy Mercury and Queen. I can’t believe you have never heard this song. Watch them live at the live aide concert. You will watch it over and over again. I never get tired of watching it. RIP Freddy
Queen is classic rock, Freddie Mercury was a legend ahead of his time. There are so many great song by them .
It is called symphonic rock. They made tracks of what they sang and then sang another melody on the sang so they sound like a choir with multiple voices.
THE BEST SONG IN THE WORLD !!!! absolutely stupendous!!! I was lucky enough to be one of the people who watched them performing this on tv for the first time....stunned then, still stunned now!❤❤❤
Kudos to you for branching out with music. Music makes the world go round bro. I welcome you to the multiverse of music.
... and the fat girls 😂❤
It's an entire operatic tragedy in one song and it's brilliant and groundbreaking.
this song is not " considered a part of the Rock Opera trend in the 1970s"
maybe you consider it and that is irrelevant... and wrong.
@@RoverWaters Huh?
This 1975 masterpiece composition is called a Rock Opera. Some other well known classics include:
Pink Floyd "The Wall"
The Who "Tommy"
Meat Loaf "Bat out of hell" (he recently passed away...RIP)
Most younger folks don't realize that they have heard QUEEN (or other classic rock artists/bands) before - in movies, playing on the radio in the background at the store or in the car, played at sporting events, etc. They just didn't know who the artist/band was or never knew the name of the song. QUEEN was so influential & each member of the band has written chart topping hit song(s), that are still heard around the world today. This is one awesome rabbit hole to explore & you won't be disappointed. My recommendations for more QUEEN reactions:
Somebody to love (live version is best),
We will rock you
We are the champions
Crazy little thing called love (my top favorite)
Fat bottomed girls
I want to break free
Radio Ga Ga (Lady Gaga's favorite & where she got her stage name from)
Many people will suggest checking out QUEEN @ LIVE AID.
Nice of you .We all reach a point when we take a chance to expand to other genres. Enjoy the ride!!!
Listen to all of Queens music. Brilliant. Freddie sings off beats. Need to listen a few times. One my all time favourite bands. Saw them in concert in Sydney Australia in the late 80s. Best ever. Thanks Freddie.
Sharing the emotions it brings out is part of a great review!! RIP to your cousin. Prayers for you and your family.
Don't feel bad, Queen does that to us all. Freddy was the GOAT.
Welcome to Queen!! Piano is Freddie Mercury, Brian May guitar and vocals, Roger Taylor drums and vocals, John Deacon Bass and some vocals.
Song came out in 1975,it was first meant to be sounding country but later done like this as a rock Opera mix.
7:50 - That climb down was just incredible. Few songs move so smoothly between high energy to that beautifully quiet bit.
Freddie had a 7 octave range! It was wonderful growing up listening to him! ❤️❤️❤️
He certainly did not.

I'm very happy for you that you are open minded now. You will see and hear beautiful things. I will follow your journey 👍🏼
One of the most authentic reaction videos I've seen. Thank you for appreciating the music of my youth!
I love my era. We didn't have computers and beats. We didn't have anything but guitars, drums, amps and synthesizers. Classic rock! Freddy Mercury and Queen. Respect!
Analogue synths are the best.
There was a festival in England a while ago and they played this song before the band came on, watch it because the crowd are wild at this song even before the band, they song every word, it's worth a watch x
It was a Green Day concert
I watched it recently. It was an epic moment of humanity coming together in pure joy. Kudos to those people running the sound system for knowing the crowd and warming them up like only Queen could. The feeling of love coming off that crowd was palpable and I'm sure carried through to Green Day's performance.
listen to as much of the 60s 70s music it will blow you away...
Rock/Opera, first heard it at 17 years old. Timeless. Watching new Generations see it for the first time is Priceless.

You have just been introduced to the genius of Queen, and of Freddie Mercury in particular.
I should add Freddie was the man who composed this, and did so without any help
And Freddie had the most incredible range. If he had not died, he may well have become one of the great opera singers. In any case, he is regarded as one of YJE Greatest singers in the history of rock. He is definitely considered to be the greatest frontman in rock history. And considering the company he is in... that says a hell of a lot.
This song is a masterpiece
from their first album through to the last. you can hear their skills expand and develop. Listen to their entire catalog. its incredible.
Rock Opera!!! Younger generations were introduced to it in the movie…Wayne’s World. Funny/stupid movie BUT the scene with them jamming to THIS song is awesome!!! 👍🏻😂❤️
Yes! then check out "Tommy" by T he Who ..... And "Jesus Christ Superstar" by Lloyd-Weber and Rice.

It's so fun watching you experience this song for the first time! Queen was an amazing band & has been a fav of mine for years. Thanks for making me smile today! 😊
I'm so very sorry to hear about your cousin! That's such an incredibly hard thing to have to go through. My thoughts & prayers are with you. ❤🙏
Loved your reaction! First few bars you’re like “This is really good!” And I’m thinking, you ain’t seen nothing yet! Fabulous ❤️
