Bradley Delp was one of the greatest singers of ALL TIME! It needs to be known. Most people already know that but the new generation does not know that. Please inform them that this man did things vocally that no one can duplicate! He deserves to be recognized for his amazing talent!
Until Guns and Roses came out with Appetite for Destruction this was the number 1selling debut album of all time. I can't stress this enough there is not a bad song on this album. In your words every song is dope
This is one of those songs that comes on the radio and you look down at the speedometer and realize your are driving 80 mph pumping your fist in the car.
The first Boston album was largely a studio creation of guitarist Tom Scholz. He played all the instruments and Brad Delp provided all the vocals. When the band needed to tour the album, the other musicians were added. Every song on this album and the second album ("Dont Look Back") are worthy of your attention and reaction. Some highlights: Foreplay/Long Time (these always go together) Peace of Mind Smokin' Rock & Roll Band Hitch a Ride Something About You Let Me Take You Home Tonight Don't Look Back A Man I'll Never Be Feeling Satisfied Party Used to Bad News Great Reaction!
Girl you have so much to look forward to so what you doing right now that big old smile and in ahh I'll be seeing that a thousand more times✌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🙏🙏🙏
This is the highest grossing album of all time! It sold one million copies in one month! It overwhelmed the band and the lead singer Bradley Delp was put in the hot seat to tour and perform on a massive scale. The second album went gold in 3 days! The pressure was so much that Brad took his own life to escape the fame. The first album to date has sold over one billion copies! No band has ever come close to that! There is no disaster like success if you are not ready for it. He will be greatly missed!
I was 14 when this came out, I can't believe how well this music has stood the test of time, This album was the best selling debut album for 42 years, Finally replaced by Guns and Roses "Appetite for Destruction" Brad Delp's voice was absolutely ethereal and no auto tune, no manipulation just voice to tape. In 100 years, this will be included with the likes of Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Handel and Bach
That guy is killing it. That guy playing the instruments is Tom Scholz, the lead guitarist, the bassist, organ player, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar and he even did the drum track. Brad Delp is the amazing singer. Several different drummers played parts of some songs I think. Tom is an MIT engineer and recorded this album in his basement, it was about 95% done before the record studios paid for it. So Tom played the instruments, produced the album, sound engineered the album. Borrowed, bought used or plain invented the equipment to record this album but also the rock man guitar pedal system that every guitarist now uses. As most have said, this album has no throw away songs. They are all good in their own right. Old school you would put the album on side one when you bought it then play the songs one after another. Even now this album was special. Every song is amazing. One after another. I like Guns n roses but their albums have throw away songs. This album does not. Enjoy the wild ride that is Boston. Once Tom got the record contract he hired a band to tour with. Great reaction, thanks for sharing, Chris
Brad Delp how did you not lose your voice? Up, up, and up again, three octaves. Delp and the guitarist nail it every single time. Incredible. And yet Boston was a nowhere band, unknown for some years. Then they just started churning out magnificent songs like this.
Boston is one of my favorites. That album is filled with one excellent song after another. Anything from Boston is a good way to start your day. Great reaction, I hope you do more of their music, you won't be disappointed. Stay safe, take care.
One of my favorite things about this sort of reaction is rediscovering music I've started taking for granted over the last 20 years. A new listener brings back the enjoyment 👍🤘❤
Great reaction... Every time I see somebody react for their first time listening to boston. A smile always comes on their face!! :-) Boston's "Foreplay/LongTime" is a must!!!
My friend in High School had just bought the brand new Boston album in 1976 and said to me, you got to check this out. He played it for me and my reaction was like WOW, OMG , this is so incredible and such an amazing sound. I never heard anything like that before. It blew me away. We had really good weed too.
Thank you for reacting to this band. I’m dating myself but imagine a band like this coming out during your senior year of high school. The whole first album has amazing tracks for real....
Yes, the guitars sound is big and warm. I counted about six guitars, which are repeated and layered on top. It isn't a typical FM Radio song because the rhythm was developed more start-stop than other 70s rock bands tunes. And the singing too has great depth. The track took years to finish but was worth it, not only because it made Boston's first album a giant hit but also because they helped form the genre later to include Kansas and Journey.
I know how he feels when he says dream of a girl I use to know but she slipped away! 1st Girlfriend broke my heart oversome stupid crap and I still dream about her. She was a beautiful woman.
This was on their debut album. As teenagers, we would cruise with this song blasting out the windows of our car. It never gets old. Amanda is a nice ballad that they released as well. Unfortunately, the lead singer passed away in 2007. :( I would recommend exploring more songs by the Beatles. The song Revolution fits events that we are witnessing now. 😊
Boston was Tom Scholz. Musical genius. Of course when they played live they all played their parts, but on their albums Tom frequently played most of the instruments himself. They had a number of hits in the 70s and 80s and sold like 70 or 80 million albums worldwide. You're right vocals on this was amazing. Stay safe.
This is the only album that I know of where I have heard every song on this album on the radio. You can't say that for many albums. Check out Foreplay/Longtime, Rock N Roll Band & Something About You. The Rock is married to the drummers daughter.
@@bostonvair I have heard each guitar has a different city representing each city they have played in. Is there truth to this I don't know. I haven't researched this and to be honest I like this description and I don't want my bubble busted. :)
@@BrianKapellusch It has taken me that long to learn that the music was created and recorded in a musty old basement by one seriously talented man before the band was formed. Insane!
This Album is awesome and it takes 6yrs ....one of the best live concerts I have been too. I will tell you I spent the night outside get these. I almost left the tickets at Clark's by the Bay. ( nice restruant)
Such a guitar based band! No one has ever reproduced this sound exactly...I have tried. Tube Marshall's, and Randall heads...nope, it never sounds just right. Great review.!
This is indeed a great Classic Rock song! Now you need to react to Boston songs that include keyboards. The guitarist also plays keys, and is IMO better on keyboards than on guitar. I suggest: "Foreplay/Long Time", "Smokin'", "Hitch a Ride", and "A Man I'll Never Be". 👍
This was recorded (mostly!) in a tiny house basement in Watertown, Ma. Maybe 20 miles from my place. 3 people. They did some later recording in LA. But this album is considered on of the best recorded albums. Mostly home-made recording stuff.
Another great reaction. You can't listen to the song and not smile. Speaking of starting the day with music, you should check out the song Spirit of Radio by the band Rush.
Another classic. You're reacting to some great (can't use dope, it means something different to me) songs. Should've saved the cap for 'Kool and the Gang - Fresh'

One of the top 3 greatest air guitar classics of all time, RIP Brad Delp

I love playing this song Every time I pick up my guitar makes me feel good
It makes my heart so happy to see young people appreciate the music I grew up with BOSTON!!! THATS IT!!
This song was basically the Rock anthem for 1976 and Boston the group pretty much incapsulates the whole 1970's vibe, theres nothing better.
Until Guns and Roses came out with Appetite for Destruction this was the number 1selling debut album of all time. I can't stress this enough there is not a bad song on this album. In your words every song is dope

Hitch a Ride
Something About You
Let Me Take You Home Tonight
Don't Look Back

Agreed
This is what is meant by "timeless classic".

Great reaction, I love Boston. Much love to you also to you sister.
Hal Blaine said the natural instrument will have no peer. You hear it all here. Thanks for the post.
Brad Delp sang all of the vocals, lead and harmony.
When that riff hits you! The arrangement is freaking awesome!
The vocals by Brad Delp on this song are incredible. Boston blew the planet apart in 1976 - just like it shows on the album cover!
Quay really likes the main riffs and the handclaps. Understanable 😊

The demo was Tom. The album release featured the tour band.

Heard the band Boston described this way, you cannot listen to any of their music and not walk way feeling in a better mood than when before listened
Just a wall of great sound and voice !
One of my all-time favourite songs, reminds me of being a teenager walking down to Bondi beach, going for a surf without a care in the world.
One of my favorite things about this sort of reaction is rediscovering music I've started taking for granted over the last 20 years. A new listener brings back the enjoyment 👍🤘❤

I want to give you a hug. Seriously.
Great review! Great song, keep on killing it!

Another song recommendation for you is "Jane" by Jefferson Starship from 1979. It's a powerful Rock song. Look forward to more of your reactions.
Thank you for reacting to this band. I’m dating myself but imagine a band like this coming out during your senior year of high school. The whole first album has amazing tracks for real....
One of the greats.
Quay, Thank you so much for your reaction. You are much better than the other reactionists. Keep it up! I'm subscribed!
Great reaction to a great song !! Keep it up !!
That smile 🙂

Definitely good vibe ....all day long. But I love MUSIC
Monster introduction...
You are the next generation of music this happen in the seventies now take what you hear and pass it on to be better

Before i had a driver's licence or a friend with an eight track
But i got the vinyl

You should listen to "Peace of Mind" by Boston. I think you'll enjoy it.
A great song.
Excited to see this reaction to such a great song! You have a great smile!
You like guitar this is loaded with em I remember you saying you like guitar, wrote this comment just when it started.
I know the cover looks like a space ship but it’s an upside down guitar, another great reaction
An upside-down guitar with a city skyline (supposed to be Boston skyline) inside the bubble.
Karl Haakonsen 😭That’s dope
It took me 43 years to learn that.

I think EVERYONE had this album, when it first dropped.
When he goes into those high notes it's like it sucks you up into the atmosphere!
A more incredible Boston song IMO, from the same album is "Fore Play/Long Time".
Upside-down guitars on the cover. Cool eh!!!!
You nailed it hun. I love your reaction to a GREAT GREAT classic. Try A Man I'll Never Be
Classic 🤟🏻🤟🏻☮️
Another great reaction. You can't listen to the song and not smile.
Speaking of starting the day with music, you should check out the song Spirit of Radio by the band Rush.
Gotta listen to “Foreplay/Longtime now.
You should see them sing . . . totally 70's hair cuts and clothes, lol
🤘🏻😎
Another classic. You're reacting to some great (can't use dope, it means something different to me) songs. Should've saved the cap for 'Kool and the Gang - Fresh'
