Brad Delp's voice is absolutely one of the greatest ever. I was blessed to grow up in Southeastern Massachusetts with Boston, Aerosmith, J. Geils, The Cars, all Boston bands. Amazing teenage years.
One of the greatest vocalist to ever hold a mic...in any genre! RIP Brad Delp 🙏
This album was killer end to end, one of the few examples of albums considered to be perfect.
This debut and "The Cars" debut are just legendary!
Agreed
This was huge when it came out!
couldn't agree more.
Boston and foreigner. Two of the best rock debuts ever
Most underrated band in music history!!
Don't you LOVE how the guitar can take over a high note from Brad, and then he takes it back? No one does this like Boston. Brad Delp was one of a kind vocalist and Tom Scholz is a maestro musician and technician. He built the studio this was recorded in. In his basement. Then later, he invented the Rockman guitar effects pedal! More Than a Feeling is one of the six songs I would have to have on a deserted Island for my very survival.
PEOPLE SAY THIS IS THE BEST ROCK SONG HANDS DOWN. FROM BRADS VOICE TO THE THE DAMN DRUMMER, HOT DAM ITS A KILLER SONG,,,,,,,,
I love Brad- no one comes close to hitting those high notes and holding them. Criminally underrated …RIP
Rob Halford
Welcome to my High School years. Was a good time to be alive.
R.I.P. Brad Delp
Im going back to the 70s WRIGHT NOW ,,,, Im Out here LOL ,,, More than a feeling came out in 1976 ,,, The same year AS PETER FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE Witch was a NOTHER Monster SIZED Album From the 70s ,,,
One of the MOST UNDERESTIMATED bands in history. Period.
This song to me is perfection . The vocals,The lyrics, The arraignment, The mixing . To me there can be no “ Greatest” rock song but this is one of several
Songs that achieve perfection . Heard this song for more than 40 plus years and I still will not turn off the radio or Bluetooth until it ends
I first heard More than a Feeling when it came out in 1976...I was 6 years old. Even being so young it caught my ear...it really did. Unfortunately I was too young to see them in concert and watch them play it. Even to this day I jog with Boston on my ears and remember the 70's and all the fun times being a kid then...always wishing I could go back in time.
@@andrewgarin2486You and me bro.
The 70s was an incredible time for music.
So many 70s songs bring me back to specific times and places ❤
COULD not have said it any better , BUT the 70s did KICK ASS HARDER THAN A PISSED OFF DONKEY ON STEROIDS , I will tell you that wright now
For those of us that had the privilege of coming to age during this era was a blessing in itself- The amount of quality music from this time period is astounding & most of the hidden gems that exist are known to us that experienced them during those early days.
totally agree
Saturday all night skates for me, back in the day
It’s so obvious that you’re a fan of melodic, guitar-driven rock and roll. Welcome 🤗
This is a very rare type of song that can bring a smile to your face and tear to your eye at the same time.
RIP Brad Delp. What a voice! Such a shame.
Every single song on this album got radio airplay. That's a monster hit.
And was their debut album. I don't think any other band can make such a claim. Ever. Guns and Roses got close. Too bad axle is a complete eggplant.
@@Frostrazor The '80s sucked. the 70's sold more records than any decade.
@@Frostrazor beatles?
EVERY SINGLE ONE
70's was the best for albums! That era was the era of all music! I feel sorry for anyone who didn't get to experience it. Kenwood stereo, big speakers! ❤️
THIS album is great all the way through. It's hard to pick a favorite song! It's a Friday night cruisin' with the top down kind of vibe.
Boston's "Hitch a Ride" makes me feel like I am seven years old and I just unwrapped the best Christmas present ever.
Ditto "Something About You".
BEST COMMENT EVER!!!!
Some VERY cryptic lyrics in that tune, considering Brad's passing.... ('Gotta crack this ice and fly....')
Boston - Foreplay/Long Time is a must hear song if you've never listened to Boston before. Guaranteed to blow your mind, buddy.
Yeah, but this song really shows Delps range on vocals!
@@scottlaughlin9897 Producer John Boylan who recorded all of Brads vocals at Capital Studios Studio C said that Brad was very easy to work with. Boylan also stated that there was no studio wizardry or tricks used on Brads vocals and that Brad hit those high notes with ease.
I was jamming to this album brand new in the barracks, stationed in Germany, drinking Bitburger Pilsner. Read about the origins of this first album, done in his basement and one guy did all the instruments.
I came across this information about how the album was developed only a few years ago. Blew my mind. Especially as their first hit song was Rock n Roll Band. Hilarious!
As I did when I bought my first stereo setup in Kitzingen, West Germany. Boston, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin etc, all on LP. 1982-84 served with Battery A, 3d Battalion, 67th Air Defense Artillery as part of 3d Infantry Division. Best tour of my 20 years in the Army.
I’ve saw Boston 2 times, just as good live. Tom Scholz on guitar and the amazing vocals Of Brad Delp. RIP.
I only seen them once but I can’t recall the exact year but it was not long after they hired that Home Depot guy to replace Brad Delp. That was one hell of a show!
Absolutely listen to the rest of this album. It's a perfect record start to finish.
This album came out while I was in high school. We would leave for lunch, a bunch of us, and go to a clearing in the woods and listen to this and party. The whole album was amazing.
Me too!
Junior in high school, in a buddies car on 8 track😊
@@jeffcather8185 I miss those days !!!
You should do a whole Album Review of Boston Boston…..it is definately one of the best albums ever from start to finish…keep those Boston reactions coming !!!
Boston is a great band to listen. On the same hard-rock family you have Kansas, Styx, Toto, Journey, Reo Speedwagon, Cheap Trick, Meat Loaf and Survivor. Closer to Deep Purple’s sound, check Uriah Heep, Blue Oyster Cult and Magnum. Besides Scorpions, dive on early Def Leppard, UFO, Michael Schenker Group and early Europe. Doctor, Doctor from UFO, Strange Ways from Deep Purple and Wasted from Def Leppard, are great songs for your ride. Great stuff!
Michael Schenker group,Assault attack, great album...awesome brother .i grew up listening to all these bands...
They weren't a band though, were they !
@@Exisles they were... MSG Michael Schenker Group and in the late eighties became Mcauley Schenker Group when vocalist Robin McAuley joined Michael. Michael Schenker has also a past in Scorpions and UFO. He is the brother of Rudolph Schenker, Scorpions guitarist.
@@joaopaulohenriques1404 No, not MSG, we're getting lines crossed here ! I was referring to Boston; Who this reaction video is about. One guy at the mixing desk, blending session musicians together at his home studio. Forgotten his name & I don't do Wiki. He might have also been the vocalist, as well as the sound engineer & producer.
@@Exisles : Got it! :)... Boston were a very popular band in early eighties with the nr1 hit song Amanda, a power ballad. There is a more recent project called Intelligent Music Project that gathers musicians from Toto, Asia, Uriah Heep... it's soft rock, but good stuff!... I don't know if this is what you were thinking... "T" might like this info, Michael Sweet from Stryper was Boston's singer for 4 years (2007-2011), but I don't remember anything recorded with him. All the best!
This was the number 1 selling debut album of all time for many years true Perfection!
Classic Rock Anthem: "More Than A Feeling" by BOSTON!!!
In all these first time reactions to Boston....you see Boston's music reach into the person's heart. That's the jam. Recent music doesn't have it so much.
You are so correct 💯
Hard to imagine Tom Scholz wrote produced and played everything on the album! The only thing he didn't do was the vocals, which he hired a vocalist to sing on the record. It was entirely recorded on a 4-track recorder then brought to an actual studio for mixing and mastering.
And Scholz told the record company he had a full band, because who would sign some unknown dude and expect a massive hit album...how long did it take him, 3 years?
Jim Masdea on drums.
I heard that the record company demanded it go to post production but the post production people in California agreed there was nothing to change.
@@ericwillison1389 Pretty much, yeah.
@@monicamad1285 I read it was Scholz on guitars, bass, and keyboard.
There’s no doubt that the 70s was the greatest decade of music, when musicians actually played and singers actually sang!! Love the reactions bro, much love 🤘🤘🤘
You should check out Foreplay/Long time and Smokin' from them as well.
Boston had EVERYTHING, their music is so beautiful. I saw them live in 2016 and they were just as good! It's just so well done.
I was 13 yrs old when this album came out. It sold a million copies in one month! Everybody had this album. It blew the world away! It was recorded in the guitar players basement! Talk about knowing what your doing! This album to date has sold over a billion copies world wide!!! No band has ever hit that mark except for BOSTON. They got big so fast that the lead singer Brad Delp was totally overwhelmed. It broke him and he committed suicide to escape the fame. There is no disaster like fame if you are not ready for it! He will be greatly missed.
Queen, Kansas, Doobies, Steely Dan , Three Dog Night, Bad Company... SO MANY great bands from the 70s 💕
Among the bands you mentioned Boston is "special"
Many of us elders listened to these old classics when they were first released, and heard them over many years, getting so used to hearing them, we took them for granted.
Now, after all these years, we watch someone much younger hearing them for the first time and see the expression on their face, as they sit in amazement at the sounds, reminding us that these really are great songs, even today.
This song… I never tire of it. This song is now one of those old songs they used to play but it never gets old… it’s timeless. I am like the Marianne in the lyrics who walked away from a boy way back when it came out, and he’s gone now and I still miss him. It gets me every time. And when Brad Delp hits that incredible high note and holds it, my heart breaks all over again. Thank you so much for sharing this tune. Everything about it is amazing… the music, the vocals, the memories .❤❤❤
This was the song that introduced Boston to the world...it was life changing hearing it as a teenager...every song released after this was better than the last...Spectacular...
This album is easily and arguably the greatest debut album in the history of recorded music.
Every song on it is a masterpiece.
Don't take my word on it, listen to it and read your reviews.
To say this , Bostons' debut album is the GOAT is a very strong statement, particularly considering the contenders...
This album stands above and amongst the best ever...
There are only 3 other 'debut' albums that come close, and they are all just one track or two behind and all tied for second place .
Led Zeppelin 1
Van Halen 1
Guns and Roses ( Appetite for Destruction)
✌🤟
How's that for stiff completion...
Rock-on TnT...😎
70's into the late 80's was the era of some of the best rock music. The vocals were amazing, the musical arrangements were great. I grew up on this music!
Listening to this album start to finish is a special treat. It keeps building momentum with each song and you'll eventually hit the top end of your volume knob.
Man.....check out ":foreplay/ long time"....by Boston...I feel ya, this song specifically takes me back to being 15 again every time, it never fails. love it.
This was for me the start of my appreciation of music. I fell I love with the utter brilliance an talents of Brads vocals an Toms genius. It was an album where every song was a hit. I was thirteen when I bought this an still 45 years later I still feel the wonder an joy each time I listen
This song is Timeless. I have to say that I favor watching the video for this song, I love watching Brad Delp sing it, and it brings you back to that time. He was so Incredible. I hope you will check the video out. RIP Brad!!
Fun Fact: the drummer is the Rock Dawyne Johnson father in law.. the drummer has long passed.
My 1st concert at WSU in 1978. University town that didn't sleep after 3 hours of Boston. ❤
Spot on !!!
You said it!! I totally go back to those days and remember the people and the feelings I had back then. I see my Maryann.....😆
This song ruled for a while in 77/78.
One of my favorite bands of all time. I love seeing people hear Boston for the first time.
Man back in the day. The standard was through the roof to make it... Today.. so many trawlers..
Welcome to the Boston rabbit hole. Great Great band. Don't leave the hole, embrace it!! So many more from this band you will love.
Hands down this is my favorite album. There is not one skip song on it! Absolute perfection. Brad Delp had one of the most amazing voices. Check out their songs off this album.
Foreplay/longtime
Peace of mind
Rock and roll band
This song brings me back to a time when I was a 10 year old boy. All those feelings of what it was like growing up having my parents, brothers, and sister there. It's like a dream.
one of the best bands ever , smooth melodic and flowing , they just carry you away ;)
One of the best Feel good, be bopin, skipping through life, top down and cruising songs Ever.
I've recently become a fan of Reaction videos. I enjoy watching young guys appreciate the music that was so impactful when I was young. Well done, TNT.
More than 40 years later Brad Delps vocals still blow my mind!
big smile instantly... 😊 can´t stop the music
Undeniable classic. I don't know if the perfect rock song exists but if it does this is it and it'll still hold up in another 50 years
These dudes are the best. My uncles played Boston nonstop. I miss the 70's
There are some songs that are on another level and become legendary anthems this is one of them ! best ever in my opinion
One of the greatest rock songs in history. Period.
Most of this album was recorded in his basement with a drummer and just him❤ look it up it's a really interesting story
I could listen to about 10 songs total over and over. This is one of them!
Just listen to how GREAT Brad, (RIP) sings, the drums, the air guitar!
Crazy all the music was done by one guy and a singer. Interesting band to dive into. One guy wrote all the lyrics and music. And played all the instruments in the album from a home built studio in an apartment. This guy invented a lot of stuff studio wise. He worked for IBM or something at one point.
What an excellent choice for a comeback to classic rock!
Next recommended Boston song:
“Foreplay/Longtime”
Boston is PHENOMINAL!!
Ohhhh, this song brings back memories. I dated a guy back in my late teens who had a black TransAm with the orange & red stripes down the sides, t-tops and red, leather interior. This beast had a shift kit in it and had the Boston spaceship and the crystal city was hand-painted (not by him, of course) on the hood scoop. Every time I hear a Boston song, it brings me back to that car chirping into second gear! /m\
Boston was always amazing. Killer vocal range, dueling guitars in solos. I recommend:
Smokin'
Peace of Mind
8th grade, military school. 3am this song starts blaring from another kids room. I mean, full blast, 3am! Wakes the whole school up. Poor kid paid for that one, but in 56 years it's still one of my favorite memories. :)
Deep Purple Burn , Space Truckin, Smoke on the water , Knocking at your back door, Pictures of Home. Cool reaction!
All of the rock from this era is beautiful. I have no complaints
That music is more than perfect.. btw.. that spaceship is a guitar turned upside down! What an art!!
I play this in my ear bud's at work and rock the night away ,I'm a 79to80s lady best years I've had.
You just looked so happy when that Intro built up and then the singing started! Like a little kid, I'm so thankful to have shared this moment with you. Awesome reaction, big fan of you and your wife!
'Foreplay/long Time' and 'Rock and Roll Band' are amazing. RIP Brad (lead vocals) and Sib..(drums)...
I was 10 when this album came out and now I'm 55 and it's still an absolute masterpiece after all these years, Brad delp was a one of kind singer!!!!
We old heads remember this album. 1976 brought us this new band, then Steely Dan gave us Aja the next year. Great memories.
Have a great day.
What's amazing is that to get the guitar sustain, back then, Scholz was like a scientist, figure out ampload, voltage regulation, in order to crank the head and get natural compression, sustain, straight Marshall amp head. There was no digital Boston patch to dial up in 1976.
My favorite song by Boston is “A Man I’ll Never Be.” From the album “Third Stage.”
So happy you are diving into some Classic Rock! So many great bands and so much awesome music to explore! Keep On Rockin` p.s. I love Boston and one of my faves by them has always been Peace of Mind
he he he .. you know it its cool i have been listening to this band for maney years and ill never get sick of it . i am glad you like it
Boston always makes me smile and feel good.
Boston's debut album is one of the rarities where every song on the album is still in heavy rotation on Classic Rock FM radio stations even to this very day. Every song is at least as good as "More Than A Feeling". I'd recommend "Foreplay/Long Time" from this album next. It's incredible!
Again, love your smile.
One of my favorite songs by Boston
Great song. Great reaction. “Great musicianship”. Exactly. Excellent take. Keep up the good work.
The absolute best music came from that era. I know because I grew up with it. Great reaction!
It was so much fun watching your reaction to this most awesome song and so much fun to rock out to it w you!!! You have such a great energy!!! Thanks for making me smile!!!
The 60’s and 70’s rock is the BEST !!!!!
I love watching people discover the music of my youth. Also, you actual react more than most when listening to it!
Love this song. Boston has so many hits.
My High School music. Driving around and blasting a Boston cassette - brings back great memories.
A perfect album.
Every song on this LP ROCKS !!
What I end up remembering about most Boston music is how the guitar seems to soar; like you are lifting off to take a ride.
You can not listen to this song without smiling and just feeling great. One of my favorite songs ever and what an incredible vocalist, Brad Delp RIP.
I tell you my man, you really need to hear the SACD (Super Audio CD) version. You can buy the digital download online or search for the physical disc. Listening to it in DSD (Direct Stream Digital) is a whole new world. Find yourself a DAC (digital to analog converter) that supports DSD or DoP (DSD over PCM) and get a really nice pair of headphones or an SACD player with a good amplifier and speakers and be blown away.
If you feel this way NOW, just imagine what a kick it was living in this era!
Great SMILE!!!!
Was in high school when this album was released. Saw them three times in Boston. Memories come flooding back like crazy! It is more than a feelimg 😁
