I have this same watch and really like it. A very well done reinterpretation of the original Challenge Diver from Citizen back in the 70s. The one thing you did not address that so many others have discussed is the bezel action. Other reviews indicate it is grainy or harsh when rotating. Maybe this is due to the dissimilar metals used on the case and bezel. I found mine dramatically smoothed out with usage and the bezel clicks are positive with zero back play. This cannot be said for a lot of the modern Seiko divers I own. I think Citizen did an excellent job here. The price point may be a bit high but that is for others to decide.
I think the bezel action has been unjustly criticized in some other reviews. It feels just fine to me, maybe slightly more clicky would have been an improvement. But its better than any other titanium dive watch I've ever handled around this price point and under. It has perfect alignment and zero back play. Citizen indeed did an excellent job on this and many other aspects of this watch.

I have this in blue, with the titanium bracelet, although it now lives on a blue stitched stingray strap, which lends it a barnacley aesthetic. Superb watch

Been wearing this watch now for two months too. I love my sbdx017 Marinemaster but this Citizen Fujitsubo, as it is nicknamed, is such a joy to wear due to its comfort, lightness and classic diver styling... It's also a true strap monster. I don't think I wore the OEM strap more than 24hrs. It's currently on a velcro strap, so my arm just floats up in the air 😄 About the small diameter crown: if you observe carefully the side of the case, you will notice that it is slightly bevelled. The crown's diameter takes into account that bevel, being proportioned with case's main side surface. Finally, I just noticed my first scratch: it can be done! (Strictly no toolwatch babying here).
This thing is taking up all my wrist time too! I’ve been switching out between uncle seiko gl831 and tropic strap. Funny thing is that I was thinking about throwing it on Velcro! The weight makes it such a joy to wear. I love the dial too, it’s the perfect shade of black for me
@@doml8959 very good precision. Around +3 seconds per day, last time I checked. I guess there's a luck of the draw but the odds of landing a miyota lemon are much lower, in my experience, than with another Japanese brand I know.
Not sure who that is but it sounds like they have good taste! The MM300 is an amazing watch but this Citizen is a totally different animal, especially due to its lightweight Titanium construction.
I m considering the blue dial, as having quite a number of black dial watches with black rubber straps, including a SD 5 digit. Did you regret getting the black dial version with the rubber strap option?
@@realestwatchreviews tbh, the bracelet plays a big part for me pulling trigger, so yes I would prefer black dial, but a almost "unscratchable" titanium bracelets, I can't pass it up.
@@realestwatchreviews cannot disagree, though I choose to look pass that for the on the fly micro adjustment. Of all watches I have, only the sinn U2 has the bracelets on... simply for the tegimented treatment😅 I hate having a beaten up clasp.
@@AA-hi6os it is 60 click. Titanium watch bezels have a totally different feel than stainless steel watches. For Ti, it is a good bezel. If you compare the feel to a good quality stainless steel diver then you will be disappointed.
I agree with the comment regarding the strap. I also found it too thick. I replaced mine with a thinner strap (a Seiko GL831 type). Mine happens to run at an average of +3 sec/day over a month period, which is well beyond my expectations!

I bought mine for a month and the minute hand stopped working.....my other cheaper miyotas works good for years, hell i once box using them... kinda disappointed...

Dive watches do we really need to choose from.. I'm not hating it i just dont see the need for it?
I know exactly what you mean. There is no shortage of options, however, most of them are stainless steel. I have always wanted a titanium diver with classic look and proportions around 40mm and this is about the only one besides the Pelagos.
Sorry your's is running at +8/day. I must have gotten lucky, as mine runs at +2/day. This is a very nice watch. I don't like mechanicals that higher that +/- 4/day.
I have 3 Citizens (I own about 80-100 watches) and they always impress me! Great watches (and I own many Swiss brands, some German and quite a few Japanese)…
Seriously, don’t like straps , bin 🗑️ it just buy a tropic, don’t see an issue, don’t think I have any watches I have on original except my Gshock but that’s for work

I do not know where Seiko and Citizen are currently digging out their pricing policy from ? To be fair to Citizen, their range is generally priced very fairly and includes plenty of good value, unlike Seiko. But how does this new Citizen Titanium justify its 800 or 900 dollar or euro tag ? Nice watch but not at that price bracket.
I agree, their both steadily increasing pricing. The only Titanium Seiko diver comparable is the Shogun which costs a few hundred more than this Citizen. This should still be about priced $200-300 less imo
The retail price on grey market is more like 600€, wich makes this acceptable, considering it has the 9039 and not the 9015. Most microbrands using that caliber are in this exact price bracket.

Agreed. The bezel markers bug me too. Nobody is actually deep diving with these watches so we don’t need those detailed timing marks…

How has the new hole you put in held up? I also need to add a hole to the strap but I’m nervous about the hole spreading or damaging over time.

Wow that is impressive accuracy! I’m wearing it on the uncle seiko GL831. Looks good, except the slightly large gap between strap and the Watch case.

I think you meant skeleton minute hand and not hour hand. Hour hand is Mercedes style. But good review nonetheless 👍🏼
It’s the hour hand which is skeletonized. The top section has the Mercedes’ style design but the base is actually hollow (skeletonized).
