thanks for the great video! upgrading to 9800x3d and went with this mobo. NewEgg had a 9800x3d bundled with an MSI 360mm AIO so it’ll match my MSI 7900xtx. Went with an MSI case to keep an MSI theme this time around. My current build is all ASUS besides the GPU so it’ll be cool to fully match now. Gonna miss my ASUS build tho, i love their logo and aesthetics.
@@Silent157Hey I have a question! Is there any benefit of which slot I use for my NVME? I have a 2TB that I use for games, and I have my OS installed on a smaller NVME. My 2tb drive also has a heatsink on it, so I kinda wanna use the heatsink on the mobo for my OS drive. But I notice the heatsink on the mobo only installs on the upper slot. What should I do i’m this situation?
That back I/O panel doesn't look like it's aligned properly with the mb. Several ports look like the port isn't accessible easily. This doesn't give me a lot of confidence in the MB itself.
It may have been my view from the camera but devices I plugged in appeared to go in without an issue. I have seen a board here & there before that could have had better attention when attaching the I/O plate.
Couple questions why did you take of the m2 heat sink and not install your nvme? Also if I add another nvme do I use m2.2 or m2.3 so I don’t lose the speed?
I took it off to demonstrate the M.2 slots and also how easily the cover is removed from the motherboard as opposed to previously having a small screw to remove.
Thx for the review. Did you find a way to disable this very annoying "Pro Series" overlay that kept appearing from the left in the BIOS menu? I use the BIOS a lot, and this alone would probably keep me from buying the motherboard.
I'm having issues with my mobo.. wondering if the lower pci port is necessary. I'm running a 1k power supply with a 7900x that requires 3 pci power plugs. During board the computer keeps clicking off. Takes minutes to be able to re boot. No thermal issues, so it has to be power right?
If you believe it may be power, try to boot the computer without the video card and instead use the built-in GPU in your CPU, if it as one and see if there is display. If there is, then re-check the PCI-connections for the GPU on the PSU, as sometimes one of these can be confused with the 8-pin CPU power connector. However, if you see the same issue, then the issue may not be the video card.
@Lucky_Mann thanks for replying. I think 60−70 degrees is acceptable. and my pc case will be MPG GUNGNIR 300R AIRFLOW so the powerful airflow will help it cool down a gen 5 ssd as well.
The manual will show which one is the primary and which is the secondary. sometimes for CPU power one is an 8-pin and ohther might be a 6 or 8 pin. With the newer mb's that have a Type-C front panel header _ you might need to plug in a power cable to the power port next tp to that port.
I am getting long boot times every single time I power on this motherboard, around 50 seconds to a minute. As you mentioned it took you this long as well on first boot, but did it continue to do so after?
They are two different chipsets, so it really depends which CPU you have in mind, what you are planning to use it for, and how many devices (NVMe, other) you have connected to it.
I just purchased this myself for the upcoming 9800X3D and 64GB of 6400 RAM.
Excellent choice in CPU.
me too..
thanks for this review going in detail over this board. I bet it's gonna have a lot of trafic soon with the 9800X3D being released!
Looking forward to that CPU release and also the 9900X3D as well.
yep! just got this mobo with the 9800x3d :D
I brought this mobo and paired it with a 7800x3d and 7900xtx. Could not be happier with its performance.

You're absolutely welcome and thanks for watching. Glad you found it helpful in the end and enjoy your build!

GREAT VIDEO! can you share with us the model and name of the AMD ventilator you use for the processor. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for watching! The cooler is the stock AMD Ryzen Wraith Prism RGB cooler
Thanks. Great job!
I purchased B650 Gaming Plus Wifi, ill upgrade it to this model in a year i hope

I haven't as of yet, but definitely will follow up if a future bios update removes that. I'm guessing this feedback is common so they may action on.
Got this board and the built-in wifi doesn't work. Isn't even recognized in the device manager

Is the Frozr heatsink good enough to cool down a gen 5 SSD?
Good quetion, I think it would be 60-70 degrees, to get 50-55 degrees need one very small fan

Nice video, I would like to purchase this MSI Pro X870-P Wifi PRO Series Motherboard in UAE, any affordable sellers in GCC for Gamers?
I'm unsure of sellers in the UAE. It has been released recently, so expect it to be more available in the coming weeks as well.
If you only use one of the cpu 8-pins does it matter which one you use?
I don't believe it does. I've actually found myself alternating which connection to use without knowing and haven't had an issue before.

ATX or E-ATX ??
Es atx
This board is an ATX board.
What are the limitations due to this board only having 60A ?
If they make a 32-core processor, the board might not have enough power, but it's fine for everything now.

Are you using a ssd?
@@tofu5259 Yes, a NVME. The issue was EXPO was on, causing long boot times.
@timjuke9502 glad you fixed it 👍
i got this for 300 CAD$ today. Still waiting for GPU and CASE.
Hi Mr. Do you recommend me this MSI 870 Pro or the ASUS TUF GAMING B650M-PLUS ?? Thx in Advance

@@Silent157which one better for 9800x3d just gaming
is there grounding pins and all that stufff on this?
