This channel is absolutely brilliant. Found it for the first time this evening through the Metro video, and have thoroughly enjoyed watching everything posted thus far. Some of the best content I've ever seen, and right up there along with High Peak Autos and Chops Garage for quality and down to earth realism. Great to see the car trade as it is, warts and all, without any of the usual bullshit. A proper little gem that deserves to do well. 👍👍👍
Thanks again matt, I enjoy watching chops garage and HP also, both them channels and couple others inspired me to create this channel few weeks back. I will be releasing my visit to the car auction on sunday all being well so check that out when it lands
How lovely to find a car that's been looked after like that. How lovely to find a JLR product without any real problems. Thanks for another great video Lee and bless you for taking a hit on the profit to help out family, karma is a wonderful thing and you've earned yourself some good luck and respect with that one.
Only subscribed this month keep the videos coming . Love the variety of cars and knowledge you have. Was nice to see you filming this video outside my old house on kingsway.
Just letting you know I really enjoy these videos and this channel has massive potential to grow. You’ve got a honest likeable approach about you and present the vehicles well.
Really good video. Lot of sensible information that can translate into a basic knowledge that can be applied to purchasing an older car. For me it underlines that if a car has had some money put in it, been cared for a bit then no matter how complicated they are to work on they can make a good buy
Yes something big and potential expensive to fix like this you do not really want one that's been abused and not had some attention and basic servicing carried out. Thanks for watching oscar
Great new channel, and good to see your subs rising . You've good product knowledge, and appraise the cars superbly. Good work, top job, and keep them coming bud. Again, your channel deserves to be huge.
Thanks chris very kind words, I will just keep throwing the content out and see where it goes, overwhelmed by the response so far, i was expecting to get to 1000 subs in 12 months not 2 weeks. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Just goes to show how notoriously problematic any JLR product is (at any age) when it’s almost impossible to believe that there’s nothing wrong with it - no warning lights, suspension faults, abs faults - usually what brings it into the trade is the fault that was the ‘last straw’ for the previous owner and it ended up as a p/ex. Good vid
Thanks jack, yes I have bought many from auction riddled with the faults you mention so was nice to get something so genuine as this one. Thanks for watching and happy new year to you
The twin turbo version of that engine also appeared on the S Type Jag which I had back in 2006/7 Absolutely beautiful comfortable luxury car. All I always say is don't expect a sophisticated piece of Engineering to run as intended if it's not serviced in line with the manufacturers recommendations. I think this car proves that yet again. Fabulous job well done on the prop. Spot on.
Looks like it’s been serviced, the problem with these cars isn’t the car, it’s the on a shoestring maintenance. People want the look but can’t afford the upkeep…..same with any luxury car. Good video.
I was as lucky as you! I recently purchased at 2006 2.7 TDV6 and it was spotless with no faults too. 6 months on and it’s still fine. As the saying goes… “If you look after your car, you car will look after you”.

Great video, I buy and sell cars I bought 2005 RR sport in 2016 for 12k, I even bought it from a garage for 3 months warranty, within 3 months it had been back to thdm for 2 months,, suspension pump failure,, egr valves,, handbrake,, couple of suspension bits, then out of warranty it would not start under zero temperature because of the stupid sensor that make you think its the glow plugs, then the steering rack went notchy another coming problem. I only owned it 18 months I did 4,000 miles I lost 6k on it plus around 3k in repairs, it also cost the garage around 2,5k in warrant work.
Hi Leeds, sorry to hear your bad experience with your RRsport, they can be money pits it has to be said. I have owned 3 now and my wife drives one and they (touch wood) have been ok, still cost a few quid to maintain but nothing like you went through. Thanks for watching bud 👍👍
I'm not responsible for anything to do with the Engine in this Range Rover sport but I was responsible for tooling approval and dimensional reports of the Td5 head from 98ish to 06ish before going into production and the Landrover V8 block and heads from 91ish to 05 when Landrover stopped production . Hi jeremy, thanks for commenting I used to run a p38 with the 4.6 v8, what a engine that was, I guess that's one of the engines you would of worked on. Your correct I am from near Manchester around 30 miles away in Cheshire, Originally from Crewe where all the trains stop 😁 thanks for watching

Yes the reliability is questionable, the guy who runs the business opposite my workshop has a new 3.0 range rover, he has been told he has to have it serviced every 8k in order to keep the warranty, if not and the engine blows they will not repair, its a new car for goodness sake and they trying to get out of it blowing up, such is the poor engine design 😁
It's such a shame that JLR can't get these cars to be reliable as they are really nice cars looks wise but I got a sportage ok a fair bit smaller but its super reliable and with a 1.6tgdi motor its quick enough for me the o ly problem I can see is the dct transmission but I'll get it serviced so fingers x.

Love the channel - well done to you sir!! Sounds a really difficult job to make money on. Hope your next purchases are as potentially profitable as this old Range Rover 👍
Nice bud but recommend to everybody that have these vehicles or the discos when you lift the bonnet on the back of the engine of the right side when you’re facing the bonnet which I think is where the battery is located. Please try not to jet wash the engines in that area. I did it on my discovery and I blew all the little silver electrical Tronic boxes underneath and did some of the wiring loom never did get it running again and I couldn’t work out why as these vehicles are made to go through water.
Hi mark sorry to hear that, I have always been nervous jet washing engines (even diesels) for that very reason. To many electrical components attached to modern cars. Thanks for watching bud 👍👍
Ouch, I bought a 4.4 sport with an overfinch body kit £2700, mine did need the timing chain doing on her, bloody huge job, wife’s daily driver, not a fan of range rovers
4.4 nice👍 I have had a couple of them and they are hit and miss. Wife also has a slightly newer 09 facelift model with the 3.0tdv6 which likes to throw cranks, always fixing the dam thing but she loves it, proper Cheshire tractor
@@carukchannel yeah my wife’s is a 2011, personally I hate em lol, im a classic car restorer and vehicle dismantler by trade, I’ve had a lot of range rovers over the years, the L322 especially the early diesels like your one suffer with the loom on the passenger side, the door seal goes and water gets in, outa the 4 wheel drives it’s by a long mile a Toyota Surf for me, I bet you’ve had a few over the years, cracking motors, but to be fair to the Range Rover after the poor reliability and expensive parts, they do look nice and drive great

Another cracking video Really hope this doesn't turn into a money pit for you . We've been using Land Rovers for years at work. Replaced every 3 years and we've never had a good one yet. Keep up the great work
Forgot to ask, do you not bother getting rid of the curb rash on alloy wheels? Do you think it's just an un necessary expence? . Winds me up a treat if I see it 😂
I was going to have two of the wheels refurbed and sort that boot step out for paint had I not sold it to my relative, he got a big enough discount so wheels and boot he can sort at his own leisure
to be fair the 2.7 engine is not to bad, the later 3.0 is prone to throwing cranks even late late models are still having this issue which of cause range rover are denying any problems 😒 Also the road tax is a killer, the RT on this was over £600 😢
@@carukchannel £600 🤯 that's crazy, I was desperate for a car as my old jetta failed it's mot quite badly, I got a Peugeot 207 diesel estate with 77k miles for I thought a good price with the way cars were a few months ago for £1650 on a 62 plate but the real suprise was when I went to tax it the tax was £20 a year so £600 seems bonkers now 😁
Wish I had such trader friends that I could call upon for a good deal been looking for a car since November last year and all I have seen is overpriced high mileage crap with dents gouges and scrapes that need small fortune paid after purchasing the car to make it look half decent and roadworthy
What about the internal heating checks you did not check the heating hope you check that all the heating does work in the range rover before you sell the car and before you sell this excellent car
@@carukchannel lady owner said she's been driving it alot had it for 3 years then parked it up for a week and now it won't start she's jump started it but just turned over its only 20 mins away from me
Reliable engine 🤣🤣🤣🤣 probably one of the biggest failures in recent years if your crank doesn't snap you might have a good one to be fair you got a nice car for the money there
In my experience on working and selling them its the 3.0 later engine thats more problematic although I have come across a couple of poor 2.7 units in my time. Thanks for watching Sam 👍👍
I love these RRSs but was shocked how many are listed on eBay and autotrader with snapped crankshafts. So I looked at the later 3.0 and found several low mileage versions with seized engines. A guy has posted a video showing exactly where they snap as the crank journals are manufactured far too thin to take the torque load of a 2 ton truck such as the RRS. Additionally there are poorly designed oil pump tensioners which also let go leading to timing belts snapping and terminal catestrophic failure. In the US Land Rover were taken to court allegedly. I believe the v8 4.2 supercharged Jag engine and the V8 4.4 BMW units are a better bet with conventionally designed strong cranks. But £600 road tax is a killer.
I agree, most range rovers and some german cars are unreliable, to be fair I don't think you get many true reliable cars its about picking the least troublesome. I don't mind French cars, they get a lot of bad stick but I can think of few that offer really decent motoring and are not that unreliable
@@carukchannel I think people should stop giving french cars a bad rep. French cars nowadays are some of the coolest and most reliable cars you can buy now
People won't be able to buy theses cars because of all the clean air zone charges it's £10 a day to have big engine cars on the road that's £200 a month if you are just using it five days a week ,no one will want them.
In the major city's, London, Birmingham and soon Manchester city centre, yes your correct, for the majority of the UK it does not effect us owing these big engine vehicles. However i suspect in the not to distant future the government will try and find another way to target the UK motorist.

Replaced every 3 years and we've never had a good one yet.
Keep up the great work
wow that's not a great advert for landrover products steve 😁 Will keep the content coming and thanks again for watching 👍

Love to have that !!
Thanks for watching phil, it was a decent one to be fair. Most of the time they are headaches
Great thanks! Does this model have a dpf? Also, is there any 3ltr version without a dpf?
Not bad looking motor. Always been frightened of buying one of these due to the horror reliability stories and high maintenance costs.
to be fair the 2.7 engine is not to bad, the later 3.0 is prone to throwing cranks even late late models are still having this issue which of cause range rover are denying any problems 😒 Also the road tax is a killer, the RT on this was over £600 😢
@@carukchannel £600 🤯 that's crazy, I was desperate for a car as my old jetta failed it's mot quite badly, I got a Peugeot 207 diesel estate with 77k miles for I thought a good price with the way cars were a few months ago for £1650 on a 62 plate but the real suprise was when I went to tax it the tax was £20 a year so £600 seems bonkers now 😁
@@crofty565 I have no idea what you mean? Get good?
@wakeup2theNWO completely wrong video reply haha my bad
@@crofty565 No worries mate 👍
Nice one. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Probably the only range without a light on in the whole country 😆
i dont think the engine managment light were off when new on range rovers 😁
Wish I had such trader friends that I could call upon for a good deal been looking for a car since November last year and all I have seen is overpriced high mileage crap with dents gouges and scrapes that need small fortune paid after purchasing the car to make it look half decent and roadworthy
Am sure you will land on something soon peter, good luck with your search and thanks for watching 👍👍
HMm timing belt, water pump and The gearbox may need a fluid and filter change???
What about the internal heating checks you did not check the heating hope you check that all the heating does work in the range rover before you sell the car and before you sell this excellent car
To be fair i did not show this in the video your correct, it was and is working though, Also heated seats were lovely 👍👍Thanks for watching
What do you think it would of sold for approx if it didnt end up going to your relative ? Great info in your vids !
Looked 4750 asking Jon, bitter pill to swallow 😒
Going to look at one tomorrow for 3k hopefully it’s as nice as this one haha
Good luck leon, 👍👍
It's gonna be as reliable as Joe Bidens memory...
🤣🤣
Forget him! Poxy £450 could’ve been in the thousands
Should I buy a 55 plate range sport with 200k miles for £1500 quid great condition only turns over no start or is it not worth 1500 👍👍👍
Keep well away if its not starting imo for £1500 👍
@@carukchannel lady owner said she's been driving it alot had it for 3 years then parked it up for a week and now it won't start she's jump started it but just turned over its only 20 mins away from me
Hmmmm 🤔🤔🤔
@@flippingcarsrepairs is she trying to sell you a bridge also?
@@ln5747 🤣🤣🤣I didn't buy it in the end thank god
Free fousand pounds , amazing ! 😅
about right to buy in the trade 3k with that mileage, thanks for watching colin
Just an observation the back window is still as dirty.
👌👌👌👌
@@habsom1406 just my 3litre q7 is 600 to tax 👀👀🙄
I bet they px’d because of the propshaft…
Maybe, it did feel bad at speed and shook through the car. Thanks for watching 👍👍
To have someone you can trust is worth so much
Very true, thanks for watching Rob
Just seen one here in rip off Ireland want 10,000 stupid prices here
£6k car with wheels done and blown in the bit on bumper
Yes shame I sold it cheap to a relative 😂
I can’t believe you can buy these cars for 4-5000 pounds
Even cheaper than that now, I was bidding on a 2010 plate car few weeks ago £2800
Matching tyres is a great sign shame
Ohhhhh nooooo ! Range Rover built somewhere in back yard. Probably the worst cars in the world, that’s including Lada :(
no such thing as a cheap range rover!! parts will kill you on it
In my opinion I find range rovers and germam cars unreliable. I'd rather buy a French car, a Japanese car or a Korean car. Just my opinion 🙂🙂
The 2.7 engine is the worst engine out there, nobody wants them.
that's not my experience, they sell very well, thanks for watching
