Hi guys hope youenjoy this video on my latest purchase a range rover sport. apologies for the sunlight issue with the camera on this one guys towards the end. Also please note this car has now sold for 6250 asking price before this video went live so sorry for anyone who was interested.
I owned one for 6 months , they are worth every penny, cant beat the drive and the driving position . yes i would advise to keep spare cash for maintenance as its on the higher end
Totally agree. I love them. I just couldn't afford the maintenance side of owning one. If I could I wouldn't think twice I'd buy one instantly! I once got to use the supercharged v8 for a week. Best time ever!!!!!
Although I’m not a Range Rover fan at all, this one looks to be a beautiful example. It’s been cared for, looked after, and perhaps most importantly, serviced. Hopefully this will be a profitable investment for you Lee.
I’ve got 2 pals who worked at Chester’s Hunters Land Rover who left because fixing modern rangerovers was soul destroying Techs no less working on these piles of S*** My mate who works with the one guy now starts doing rangerovers and tells me if I buy a Range Rover find a new mechanic That’s a true story 🤣🤣🤣
Certainly got to dig deep and keep up with services to help prevent problems.people buy these, run them into the ground without spending on them, then moan that they're not reliable.this one has been well loved, so hope it goes to a loving owner.
I like the way vehicle sore works. It gives you an instant idea of the current or previous condition of the car based on mileage and mot history. Just a nice free tool to aid in making a decision on purchasing a motor.
There are people out there who think second hand car dealers are a dodgy lot,I don't agree I admire their diligent and general sharpness "Car Auction UK is the best"
ime on my 4th rangy , love them , i understand they can be a love hate relationship , but a lot comes down to regular servicing and the right spec oil , had my latest one 4 yrs 2012 model all ive spent is brake pipe , tyres and battery , pure luxury and a lot of car for the money .
Vehicle score seems pretty good I ran a basic check on a car that my sister was interested in ,Top suspension front mounts ,drop link problem & disk all had a mention .If nothing else it gives a buyer a bit of leverage on a price reduction after workingg out the cost of sorting the issues ,Thanks
yets its a helpfull tool to use and the salavge check is very useful, the ammount of seriously damaged cars that go back on the road unrecorded is scary
I live in panama and I have a 2013 SDV example with only 60,000 Km on the clock, no issues except a occasional amber suspension fault, forums says it requires the suspension manifolds cleaning and a new air pump dryer. I have the parts but haven't got around to it. Everything else works great.
I wouldn't touch a PSA TDV6 with a bargepole! Narrow main and big end bearings do not work with a diesel engine! Happy with my proper diesel engine which is a Euro3 Volvo D5! 👍
Another quality video, not your usual stock but as long as you can make a bit, that's what matters.Good luck to the new owner, hope they have plenty savings
Looks nice for the price . I’ll catch up on your videos when I’m back from Miami. You ought to see the cars out here. Audi R8., Ferrari etc alongside guys on electric scooter. Madness.
Currently looking for one, the ONLY thing that would put me off is simple, the age of it, I always either buy new, or get an upmarket version that's a few years old, max 5. Currently I've got an AMG C63, which is awesome, but it's getting to that age where it may cost thousands to maintain
I love your comedy - "Just a quick one fellas - they're fattenin' you up for market...." Been watching each video recently, really really useful stuff to know, and listening to your experiences. Excellent stuff keep it up! Great seeing the auction videos. I may try one day.
Ive been looking at these for about 3 years, its hard to find one with full service history and everytjing working, no lights in dash etc and the prices were ridiculous the since 2019. I used to work on ground maintenance of a industrial estate and there was a guy specialising in land rover and the place was always jam packed with them in for expensive jobs, everything tells me not to buy one, but i just love them ajd would love a good one, but theyre almost impossible to find
As someone who worked for Landrover , would I ever buy any of their cars not unless I could afford a brand new defender or any RangeRover model. Looks immaculate Lee and has definitely been looked after maintenance wise . Sounds like a good 1 in a market no doubt full of a lot run on shoe strings as they now aren't so expensive but are to run. Is it better than your own if so is it worth keeping and selling on your old car.
Thanks for the vehicle score site , will try them out . Lovely car but to be honest I've always kept away from these , all good when there working but ££££ when they go wrong . Excellent video as always Lee , good luck mate 👍
thanks ian, yes i have been lucky with them over the years but one day i am sure i will be burned on one. to be fair i buy on average onw or two a year as i am picky with them
l mentioned they are prone to blowing when under the bonnet, the 2.7 is more reliable without doubt idealy pre 2007 models as they changed the oil pumps on later models which seem to be weaker in my experience and was even a recall at one point
I had 2011...60 plate and headers went had 2 changed cost of 600 air suspension fault now and again then sold it quick run to hills you need deep pockets all the time but yes they are lovely to drive its just how much do you spend lost thousands on it thousands
Getting car insurance for these or even the vogue is very expensive currently, my existing insurance for 2010 vogue was with Admiral and they didnt even want to renew so I had to fork out 1700 quid for 3rd party/fire/theft with another provider. Want to add a sport with my vogue as well still LOL
Certainly wish the very best of luck to the new owner hope they have very very very deep pockets to keep the Chelsea tractor land yacht running. I've owned one and never again!
sounds like you had alot of issues, mind have bee ok and not to many issues but i guess i am a more advantageous position than most owners running a garage and being mechanical. thanks for watching bud and enjoy the bank holiday weekend
Bearing in mind it is a Discovery 4 with a posher body, a Range Rover Sport L320 with the 3.0 engine is one hell of a car for the money and about half the purchase price of the same aged Disco.
Got 2 of them 3.6 tdv8 and a first edition 4.2 supercharger and a2.7 discovery 3 they’re horrendous on fuel road tax is £695 on tdv8 the supercharger is a good bit of kit when you drive it it just makes you smile like you say there’s just the way they drive no 4x4 drives like them you just need to have a few quid put aside for when they break I do loads of them for people and they all moan but they don’t buy anything else
a true enthusiast you sound david, fair play to you. i love a range rover product too the wife even more so but its a expensive passion to run them as you rightly say
i suspect nearly all of them with have old pcodes stored as they do not cancel off unless wiped on jlr vehicles. be more concerned with whats a present fault code as even a battery going dead 12 months ago will give you historic fault codes but no lights on the dash
Great Channel love your straight talk and no B/S. I am very tempted to buy a L322 as there looking great value now I have about £10K budget. I am currently in a 2004 J120 Landcruiser full Toyota history 115k had it just over 3 years not 1 issue. Should I stay put.
Spend the extra and buy a l322 TDV8. Even a good sport or discovery 3/4 can snap a crank and destroys the block without warning at any mileage. Main dealer cost circa £15k. Thats why they are selling fo peanuts
If its the one I think it is with that mileage it will be around 38-40k, retail will be around 46995 mark. Just be wary of the fees at that level. I would ask how much they would be before bidding on a circa 40k vehicle
Had my 2.7 ,,07 sport 10 years serviced twice a year without fail ,, all it’s had is a suspension compressor and a air con pump ,, obviously wear and tear items ,, so I guess it’s all down to maintenance on these ,, but what car is reliable ?
i am very picky with them, sold a few over the years been lucky but i am sure one will come back one day we sell. just try prep them well and make sure there is a decent margin

Hi Lee, Just a quick one about vehicle score. It knocks a vehicle score down badly based on age and number of mot comments. 1) Age is unfair, you can see how old a cars and 2) A chatty mot thats too commenty is unfair judge and a very blunt instrument. 3) They got model completely wrong so valuation off. I have let them know. It was free I guess!!!
The sport not for me , i prefer my L405 big Range Rover but with the same 3 litre Diesel unit. Mine is 2013 I have owned the past 6 years having bought in UK and imported here to New Zealand, where we are not as yet penalised to road tax them. Mine has now done 115000Kilometres 72000miles, changed cam belt, gearbox oil and filter, all brakes since 100000km. Car is autobiography fully spec. Gold/Black 22inch wheels. Love it. My only issue the rear tailgate refuses to self close, opens ok, I believe a glitch in the computer having fitted new modules etc, so I just pull it down. t 76 I hope to run it another 4 years at least, could afford a new one but wht bother. Cheers Mike Ex BL 1960s Apprentice
thanks for watching Michael. yes i would juat putup with the tailgate not closing, as to replace them is still nig money here for the motors. enjoy it anyhow
yes i am very picky about selling them, done three in the last 18 months all ok, 2 others traded on as they did not make the grade. but your right at some point i will get burned on one
Loved the intro to this video but, you can tell you're not a country lad, those looked more like dairy cattle to me rather than beef cattle but, I know nothing about running a garage. 😁 I've had a few Range Rovers over the years and had also driven quite a few back when I served in the Corp. At least you're getting a lot of car for your £600+ road tax. My Saab Convertible is £615 due to that weird 2006 build date and it being a petrol auto. These RRs are nice cars and I loved the drive I had of my mate's L322. Not sure I have deep enough pockets to maintain one properly though.

Definitely looks like a nice well cared for car!
I hate when they don’t put dipsticks in, I prefer the old fashioned way of checking my fluids!
yes its very annoying having no dipsticks, seems to be a common thing these days from manufacturers to stop people servicing there own vehicle
I wouldn't touch a PSA TDV6 with a bargepole! Narrow main and big end bearings do not work with a diesel engine! Happy with my proper diesel engine which is a Euro3 Volvo D5! 👍

love a old rover tony, had many over the years and your right us brits do like a touch of wood 😁
Lovin that vehicle score, my car scored 999….nice aid for when I sell. Cheers
If you buying an older range you have to be willing to spend 20-35% of the purchase price in maintenance or repairs
