Giving away his hard earned knowledge for free. Gotta respect the man!
I've done it a hundred times and still learned something from your very comprehensive video. I hope your success affords you a larger work space. You've earned it. 👍
Good morning Ray, thank you for your kind words... this is an old video, if you would care to check in on the Channel with our current, up to date, videos you'll see that You Tube has been very kind to us and we did manage to upgrade to bigger premises... thank you for your support.
Oh I wish somebody showed me how to work on brakes with so many details when I was a newbie. That's a great thing you are doing here, man 👍
I like to see this guy work , his a very good mecanic , one of the best on youtube ! thank you so much DELBOY for the help , LONG LIFE TO YOU YOUNG MAN !!!!
Your videos are absolute top class. My Dad passed when I was younger and he never got a chance to show me these things. Been watching your videos for the past few weeks and I've tackled all the basic maintenance on my motorcycle by myself. Thanks a lot, you're a hero.
Sorry to hear about your Dad JD, and it's an honour that our videos can hand you a few skills that help you remember him, Enjoy your projects and keep in touch mate.. Del.
Just want to thank you again.
Watched your video again for refresh and back brake mustard now.
Much appreciated.
Didn't realise how much you need to put through. but like you said. You have to throw it afterwards.
Top Man
Most welcome Mark. Glad it helped you mate.
I've only watched two videos so far and I gotta tell you for being a new rider you give me the confidence that I'll be able to work on my bike myself and get the job done right. I have the Bonneville t100 Johnny Allen tribute bike.
Ayup buddy, glad to hear we can help, and welcome aboard!
Hey fellow Triumph owner. 2012 Thunderbird 1600 here. 👍🏻👍🏻
I am sending this link to every friend of mine that rides. These videos are so much beyond what the factory manual instructs. Del does not miss a beat! Would like to see the babe behind the camera someday. Thanks for "edumacating" us.
You are my favorite RUclips guy. I bought a 2014 Bonneville and now after watching several of your tutorials, believe I can work on the bike myself. I have to admit the idea of changing the rear tire and brakes gave me nightmares. Thanks so much for the time and effort in making these videos. From WA state, USA
These are the Best Motorcycle Brake Fluid and Oil Change videos that I've found on youtube. Del you are a Brilliant Teacher and have transformed bike maintenance into an art form. I now feel that I can do these things myself because you really break down each step into a doable procedure and in a way I can duplicate and understand. Thanks for all you do to help us newbies and Do It yourselfers out. Cheers!
Wow, thanks Paul you are most welcome, and im really glad you enjoy the videos and can use them to expand your motorcycle enjoyment.. i always believe that knowing that your bike is in good mechanical health, and well maintained to a good standard can expand your pride of ownership beyond just riding the bike and washing it.. and there is a fair amount of peace of mind in knowing that your safety parts are in good shape and won't let you down.. Thanks again and enjoy the videos.. Del.
Your video is one of the few videos on youtube that shows how to bleed both the front and rear brake. Other videos only shows the front and not the rear. It's really helpful that you showed us how to do both. Thank you.
The tip of taping the brake lever overnight definitely works. Much firmer feel to the lever the following day. Another thing learnt on this channel ! Thanks Penny and Del.
Just watched this (twice) and following the guidance was able to get this done for my 2016 V7 MOTO GUZZI successfully.
thanks Del and Penny, always enjoy your informative vids. Perfect timing as well, I am doing the brakes on the thunderbird storm this week in prep for nicer weather here in Canada. keep them coming. cheers
Del, I truly appreciate how you teach, in your videos. And you show folks things like this that are often overlooked because people simply don't know. Thanks, I been watching for about two years, and have learned a lot about my 2011 Triumph America. I'd never owned a Triumph before, Harley's all my life. Thanks again, and God bless.
Thank you so much for your kind words of support Sir, we're glad the videos have been able to help you! Take care and enjoy your weekend, all the best from us both.
I am learning so much from you. Thank you so much. Just bought a Bandit 650 and you are showing me how to look after it . Thank you again .
2020 and you are still THE BEST. I pray you and your family are safe and sound.
Thank Alec, thank you so much for your kind words and for your prayers, it's a strange and challenging time for sure, and we're all in it together.. stay safe and healthy my friend.. Del.
fcool...great tips... very important . sweet trumph.....got my bike fluids all changed...;.......did get 1 ride in feb which i just loved...another the other day. snow again now. spray and wash is awesome ty for promoting. harley had it cheaper along with oil and drain plug seal than anywhere i googled. i only have 2200 miles but noticed the 749 cc's street seems faster now when i cracked on it. i did hold back last summer. 2017 street harley has worked on the abs with 2 front discs....good stuff as always guys : ) ride safe
Hello mate. Bled both my front and back brakes on my RF900 after watching this. Nice and easy, thank you.
No problem 👍, thank you for your feedback.
thank god i watched this i was about to buy a 60 buck bleeder kit but now i know i can jsut buy a 2 doller peice of hose great vid
If you were as conscientious as this to your customers when you were a bike mechanic, they were very fortunate to have you doing the work.
Always buddy... but then it was a long time ago, without the time pressures now placed on modern tech's..! These days they are allotted pre-set times to cover any given job, and a time-in-motion recommendation dictates the money YOU pay as a customer.. long gone is the practice of getting the bike on the bench and seeing how bad it is , these days, customers want fixed price servicing, and wont pay more because their bike is a neglected old nail, making it twice as hard to work on due to stuck bolts and rusted fasteners.....These days its more about 'commerce' than 'care' buddy.!!!
Lots of great tips here! I’ve been working on different bikes for quite a while and always learn something new when I watch your videos, Delboy! Thank you so much!
Thank you, we're glad the videos can help!
Great video not only in the procedure, but also into the workings of the brake system itself!
Every thing was easy to understand and I can confidently work on my brakes now ! I appreciate the information and how you teach it ,Thank you !
Most welcome my friend, thank you for your feedback, have fun with your project!
Always appreciate these vids, Del, no matter I've seen them before! Cheers!
I was listening to Delboy work on one of my favorite 🏍 the 😤 triumph. His tutorials are crystal clear. I shall keep in tune for future lessons.
Thanks you Steven, Great to hear!
Thank you for this 5 star tutorial! I saw a couple of videos explaining the procedure, and then I came across this one. Obviously you actually know how it’s done. Very, very useful!!
Thank you, and you're most welcome.
Not only does he show you how to change the fluid in both the front and back, but he talks about mistakes that can be made. Awesome video.
wonderful tips and instruction, thanks for sharing. I was always terrible at bleeding breaks.
Hi Delboy.great basic maintenance video. When I was a young biker the whole process of brake bleeding and related problems was a great mystery.
It's a pleasure to see your videos, you're passing on knowledge to a whole new generation as well as reminding shall we say older bikers s about a few maintenance tips. You're never too old to learn.
Thanks John, you're very kind... we are so glad you enjoy the videos!
Been watching Delboy's video's now for a while and he is very good at projecting his knowledge and talent and attention to detail, your farther did good, you must be very pleased as i am with what information you passed on to me and many others, Well done Del and Penny, Good health Ride safe.
Thank you kindly Paul, we're glad the videos help you!
THANK YOU!!! I was just one ride away from metal on metal. Changed brakes and works fantastic! Couldn’t have done it without your videos
Most welcome, so glad the video helped!
Brilliantly imformative and interesting video Del, I always have had problems bleeding brakes in the past and need to do them on my T100 Bonnie like Pen's and a 35 year old T140ES and this has given me greater confidence for top results.Never seen one of those plastic long-handled clamps but what a handy tip and will look for some 5mm bore tube. All the very best and many thanks.
Thanks again for your knowledge sir. Been a great refresher for me as I am just about to bleed all the brakes ready for the M.O.T. I particularly like the advise on leaving the brake levers under slight pressure overnight to draw the remaining microscopic air bubbles up to the reservoir. Awesome. 👍
Glad to help Allan, good luck with the MOT, and have fun with the process too mate.!
Hi, I'm from Indonesia, I really like your channel. This tutorial on changing brake fluid is very useful and I apply it to my small Yamaha Scorpio New 225cc motorbike. Thank you very much for the knowledge, I hope it will be useful for all motorbike riders around the world with this channel.
Subscribed. I mean ive been on bikes since i was 16, Got my City and Guilds 1 and 2 and my Btec in Motorcycle Engineering and Design Technology by the time i was 25 i'm 47 now and i can say You Are Spot On Chap. There is a lot of chaff on here sometimes (mostly American home mechanic types). Good to see you are teaching people how it actually should be done. AWESOME dude. AWESOME.
Great tip on the tape on the lever! First time I've ever heard of that! Thanks as always!
Best explanation so far of how to change brake fluid. Thanks man😊
Just goes to show, you can always learn something new! Thanks for the tips! Great video!
I do not understand why every motorcycle owner in the world are not subcribed to this channel.. thank you....
After years, still the best videos on bike maintenance to come back to when you can't remember all the details. One question: some veterans told me to lean the bike to about 45 degrees to the left and right for the last few pumps (of course without spilling what's in the reservoir). The idea is that there are some places inside the system where air bubbles could "get stuck" while the bike is upright (caused by edges and tiny channels inside the brake shoe cast). What do you think about that? Or will this get solved by the overnight-trick?
Woww I’ve watched a few videos before this and could not wrap my head around it until I saw your video! I really appreciate your time and in-depth explanation along with the good camera angles. RESPECT!
Thank you so much. Glad it was helpful!
This is by far, one of the best video's i've seen of changing your brake fluid. Thank you so much :-) Cheers from Norway
Thanks you so much Thomas, its really kind of you to say such cool things, im really glad the videos can help you out, and maybe save you some money... have a good weekend.. Del.
thanks for this video Del ,nice and precise as always👍👍
One of the best if not the best in mechanics I've seen on RUclips
I watched this a couple of years ago when I changed my brake fluid on the bonneville last time, but it's time for some quick revision, because it's that time again... Thanks Del, your videos have really helped me with servicing my bike myself.
Most welcome Sir, am glad the videos help, good luck with it!
Brilliant. What a great teacher he is. Thank you.
This guy is the Capt. Price of motorcycles. Much respect
That is a good idea at the end of the front break fluid change. I got to try that on my Sporty. The breaks are like grabbing a block of wood. lol. thanks Del.
Hi Yesterday I changed the fluid on the front and rear brakes. I followed your tip on taping up the lever and foot pedal overnight. Thanks a lot for that one it worked a treat. Keep up the good work Really enjoy watching you videos
Nice one Paul, glad it worked for you mate.
Excellent tutorial guys. I've done this many times on a car and it was really helpful to see how it's done properly on a bike, (and left me shuffling in my shoes, hands in pockets, looking down at the ground at some facts I didn't know!! ...Time to throw out the old, part-filled containers of brake fluid then...).
Thanks as always for providing such great help to us bikers - take care, ride safe :)
Thanks Capn' i think we all learn a bit from the raft of videos on the tube... im glad you enjoy them, it's always good to have your support!
Nice job... but ! what I did... I went to aliexpress and bought 20$ compressor vacuum pump brake bleeder.
I used to do something like this in the past, and it does a job quite well. But with this thing, everything is done perfectly in 5 min per brake/clutch.
Basically, I pump out all fluid from reservoir, put in new one. Connect a hose to bleeder valve and run vacuum, and run few reservoirs through. As the fluid level gets lower, I just put new fluid in. Just flush a new fluid through the system.
I like these videos, and those "little" tricks ! big thanks for them !
Delboy this is the greatest channel. Thanks for all the info mate.
Glad you think so, thanks!
Another nice one Delboy, always a pleasure to watch you work, so many good tips, and I’ve been doing this since the 60s, all the tips are pure gems, those Busa 6 pots and the 7mm socket and square drive, brilliant, certainly deserves a Sub, take care👍😃
Thank you for your kind words Cliff, and welcome aboard Sir..
Just did this today,£2 ebay tube, and a 8mm spnner and bottle from halfords. God knows how much a garage would charge! i used a 2ltr fanta bottle with tape to collect the old fluid. Thanks Del&pen!!
Nice one mate, glad you got it sussed, feels good doing it yourself aye..!..
That taping the front brake lever and leaving it overnight is a new obtained by watching your video. Sir, you did a hell of a good job explaining thoroughly. A few days back I rebuilt my Yamaha fz1-s 4 piston caliper, replaced my OEM brake line with an aftermarket Venhill brake line, replaced my brake pad and bleed the system by watching your other brake related videos. However, after watching this, I think it's time to flush it again and tape that sucker!
Hi buddy, glad the videos can help you in that way... the taping in procedure is something you can just do periodically over time, and it will always sharpen up the feel of the front brakes the next day... once again, glad we could help, all the best, Del
Thanks mate. Brilliantly simple. You can also use Halfords washer tubing 4.7mm.
Easily the most helpful video, thank you!
Just managed to change the fluid on my brakes and I am not mechanically apt usually. Great instructions thank you so much Delboy. And the tip about the boiling water works 👍
Most welcome Claire. Glad it helped you!
Thanks Del. Successfully changed f&r fluid on my GSR600 today. There was surprisingly little air in the system, but fluid was old & nasty. So satisfying to have clean, bubble-free fluid come through! Next job is chain & sprockets...
Hi Damon, thanks for the feedback, am glad the video could help, good luck with the chain and sprockets, let us know how you get on !
Thanks brother! You and Penny are great 👍🏻. Thanks for the tips
Our pleasure Max, good to hear from you mate, enjoy your weekend.
hey del. youve had so many cool bikes through your cribb, some that have left me licking my lips to hear what they sound like. get some of the 'juicy ones' started up... pleease? there is nothing like the sound of a new bonnie growl, a trident whine or harley rumble ahhhhhh. Youll have me and loads of others like me comin back for more! Cheers mate you're doin a great job.
Great clear instructions. Lovely bike!
Just Got my first ever bike, not knowing really anything about bikes you make things very easy to follow! Thanks
This video is the mutts nuts! Thank you Del Boy. Am a recent convert from cage to two wheels and have a lovely SV650S I've just bought. Worked on cars for years but not so confident on bikes. Feeling confident to change the coolant using your method. Nice one fella!
Most welcome mate. Glad the content helps !
As a novice bike "tinkler" your videos are so helpful... Thank you Sir!
Great to hear, you're most welcome, good luck with your projects!
Thanks... Working on my 2016 Air cooled Bonneville... Thanks to your videos and knowledge I've replaced rear shocks, front fork springs, tail tidy, relocated ignition, front n rear indicators...and done all the basic maintenance myself... More than grateful 🙏 to you. Ride safe...
Excellent, excellent video. Thank you so much for posting this buddy. Super helpful! 😁👍🏻👍🏻
Most welcome buddy. Glad it was helpful!
Tremendous video, thanks for posting.
Huge thanks Dell. Especially for your other vid on how to get the pistons out of the caliper. I'd have been stuffed without that knowledge. Just done a complete brake seal replace on my ZX9R 6 pots. First time I've ever had to split the calipers. Bleeding was easier than I thought with a little help from your video here. Thanks again Dell. Keep up the good work and a happy 2020 new year to you and Pen..
Glad it helped mate, it makes all the time we take creating the videos worthwhile... Happy New Year to you too and ride safe!
Most people probably dont consider how important good camera work is..Penny, thanks for the steady hand and good closeups. Del, great info and delivery; you are informative and to the point. We need more like you two on here!
Thanks buddy.. you are very kind.. Penny does indeed make me look good..!!!!
Awesome bike and awesome videos, thanks from the States. Your videos have helped me immensely.
I grew up riding around on dirt bikes and then moved to street bikes
and dirt bikes until about 25 years ago when I started a family(no time/money🤷🏻♂️).
I am "new again" to motorcycling and wrenching on my own bike. After watching
this video you got an easy new subscriber. Excellent explanation/description on
several points.
Thanks for the videos and keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤️🏍
Randy
Thank you Randy, welcome aboard mate, we're really glad you enjoy the videos.

Thank You from Pennsylvania
You are very welcome Sir, thank you for your kind words.
I had no idea you were supposed to take that rubber cup out and I was unable to fix my squishy breaks until watching this. Thanks for explaining that it needed to be removed because without your video I would still be troubleshooting lol. Cheers
Great ingenuity on the rear brake pedal!
The Tape trick is awesome .. never knew about that one, ty for that
Great video full of useful tips. Thank you.
Another in depth video excellent Delboy.
great video again, done it loads of times but still enjoy someone else doing it, regards Stu 🖒
Absolutely brilliant!
that is the best training I've seen on Motorcycles!
Good one an good advice, ended up in a bush (no damage done fortunately) as I had not changed brake shoes or fluids for over 4 years. Was being lazy, DON'T be lazy folks, luckily I was going slowly at the time or it could have been worse. Pay a lot more attention now I doos
Nice , To the point , thorough & loving the beats
Thank you for the knowledge, good stuff.
Truly a delight to have you share the knoooowledge!
I've just replaced my hoses on my 45 year old Honda and took a while to get the air out but your video really helped - cheers Del!
Cheers buddy, glad it helped you !
Brilliant video and instruction. Didn't know about clamping the levers overnight. Great tip.
Most welcome buddy, it's a little trick you can do periodically anyway, not just when bleeding, it will always crisp up your lever response!
Awesome video and very well explained! Thanks 🤙🏼
Cheers, Delboy! Exactly what I needed , Very useful and informative.
Thanks buddy, glad to help..
That clamp on the rear brake is genius!!!
Good learning from a motorcycle expert thank you.. thumb up
