..think i heard this symphony for the first time in the early nineties.. and dozens of times since.. and as with top class pieces like this, it doesnt diminish, in fact it gets better and better! Amazing.. such talent.. to be able to write something like this.. and then play it like these guys do.. thankyou for sharing 🙂 x
Thank you for sharing this wonderful performance! The slow movement was very lyrical, very much like Mozart intended it to be played I am sure. Looking forward to future concerts from this amazing ensemble! :-)
It's not really an interesting touch (nor is it odd), it's just what one would call a historically informed performance. Conducting in Mozart's time was not what it is now (that came around Mendelssohn's time), and it was very common for the orchestra to be led by the first violin.
Starting at 24:52, it's theme 4 (violins), then theme 5 (oboe), and finally theme 3 (bassoons) and theme 2 (flute) starting almost on top of each other; this sequence then repeated. Really love this bit.
Uplifting and engaging ;performance. Could advertisers PLEASE come on before the performance as the interruptions are very distracting to this wonderful music. Thank you.

Lovely, energetic performance! And I quite like it! But where is the indispensable continuo instrument? If not a harpsichord, at least a Walter fortepiano, such as Mozart himself owned and would have used. ...
@herbertglass4941 I disagree. Emphatically. Even Beethoven routinely called for an orchestral continuo, right through to his Emperor Concerto No. 5, composed in 1809 and premiered in 1811. Continuo playing, whatever modern conductors and players may think, was in fact routine and de rigeur throughout the entirety of the Eighteenth Century, and even well into the Nineteenth Century.
I don't know what you may be saying, but yes a finely used piece of music in one of Woody Allen's movies. They were driving to the country I believe. His soundtracks were always first rate.
@@marcusio4760 Yes. I believe he was lying on a couch with small tape recorder listing the things that mattered or made life worth living. He also listed Flaubert's Sentimental Education. I believe Allen was one of those self-educated New Yorkers. Thank you. I lived in the city from 1982 to 2000.
Without a conductor, yet these players show their exceptional caliber in displaying the thrust of the tempo in Mozart's mind. Amazingly Beautiful!
I just realized: I'm guessing the red worn by many of the musicians is a nod to the portrait of Mozart wearing a red jacket? I love it!!
Our musicians always wear a flash of red on stage, but not sure it was an intentional nod that famous portrait!

This is a phenomenal performance. My favorite symphony. I wonder what Mozart would've had in store for us
in a Symphony 42 ?!
Wow, they know their music piece well; Mozart would be happy.
Great symphony ❤ very good performance 👏 ❤
bravo, bravo, very beautiful music by Mozart and a very good performens, , Thanks

Arguably the most well-crafted symphony of all time. The fourth movement alone is staggeringly perfect counterpoint....
Blows you away every single time, doesn't it?
Cool jazz
# 41 jupiter is my all-time favorite. I saw this performed live 2 years ago by my local symphony they are as well as these guys. Mozart specialist.
Superb performance and wonderful timpani playing. :>))
Movement IV is so wonderfully nuts
Ha. No conductor, just the concert master. Quite the interesting touch.
yeah kind of odd
I only noticed there was no conductor during the 4th movement!

Outstanding performance. Enjoyed it.
Absolutely wonderful a performance. This is one of a my favorite concerto.
Thanks 👍 for sharing this video 📸.
Excellent. Crisp and powerful tutti.
A small, almost chamber ensemble and great sound… If Mozart ever performed this symphony he would liked it to be played this way.
Absolutely Stunning performance ❤❤❤
A rather beautiful interpretation of the 2nd movement particularly. Look forward to hearing the Mozart players live again.
tickled by rain drops lol 🙂 x
Wearing red and black! This is so cool!
They make Mozart look easy.
No conductor? Wow, terrific!
Nice to see a performance without the camera constantly zooming on the Conductor. Going to get the DVD of this. Amazing performance.
Another great performance !!!
Movements:
I: Allegro vivace: 0:09
II: Andante cantabile: 11:58

wonderful great job wish i had a such a wonderful talent
Bravo ! Bravo !
¡¡¡Excelente!!!
I love hearing the figure played on the flute at 24:55 and 25:00.

First class performance by any standard...Well done.
HIP? albeit on modern instruments ^^; Excellent performance!
Nicely done! I would prefer all the repeats to be kept, though, and for the Andante cantabile to be taken just a touch slower.
Mozart!!!
i love to hear this when i take my last breath

No continuo would have been used in the late symphonies, not even in many of the early ones. Keyboard could never have cut through the brass.

regretable you can hear no timpani at the beginning (bar 1).
What you mean is that YOU can not hear them.😃

No le corresponde criticar esto. Es una conmemoración, nacida de pura piedad. Al carajo con su incultura! E.C.
There are way too many women in that orchestra
