Great texture! If you start with an odd number of double crochet (dc) stitches _every row_ will start with single crochet (sc), front post double crochet (fpdc) and end with fpdc, sc. Then you can go on autopilot and not have to think how to start each row...
I am absolutely in love with this stitch. I’m working on my second blanket using Yarn Bee sugar wheel cotton. It’s a 3 weight. I don’t usually use 3 weight but I love how this feels!! I am planning on making a few
I really love the look of this stitch. Finally, seeing someone who holds the feeder yarn, in their non-hook hand, the same way I do. I feel liberated somehow!
Awesome stitch. I am working up a baby sized blanket in dark pink and light pink stripes, alternating colors every 8 rows. It’s about 1/3 of the way done now and I am really loving it!
I love this stitch! I’d been looking for something simple, yet textured to make a baby blanket with, and here it is! I’m excited to get started. Thank you so much! 😊
I love this stitch and all the while I was trying to figure out how you did this. Ty for sharing and i love the idea of putting books with a blanket. Unfortunately, there are no more children in my family. I definitely want to make one for sure. Excellent video there. 5 stars from me.
I don't like having to go through the stuff of privacy as didn't really understand it so I accepted all. To download your pattern.. lovely pattern I love front and back posts. Ty for sharing. Xx
Love this pattern. Thank you. Being a knitter who has discovered that crochet can be so much more than granny afgans, I have a question. Do you find a need to block your crochet pieces? BTW, you tutorial is very easy to follow.
I personally still would depending on the yarn and if it is a garment. Usually blankets dont need blocking unless it's a variation on a fancy granny square and you feel it needs to be done. (Coming from a crocheter turned knitter) Just my opinion though! 🙂
I always block mine, just because I find that it gives it a better appearance and it softens the yarn just a touch more. I personally love the look that blocking gives once the stitches relax slightly.
I just ran into your channel. You must be a knitter too? The way you hold the yarn and throw it over the needle sure looks like a knitter 😊 although I am not. Nice blanket. LOVE the straight edges. I am a beginner and struggle with that.
🌸🌸 HELP Please I started making a blanket, did a few rows and it does not look like this pattern. I even then made a "sample" exactly as she did in the video and it still did not look the same. Could the problem be the yarn that I am using??? I'm using Caron Simply Soft. (If it is the yarn I'm using, what yarns would be good??) Thank you for your help.
THANK YOU I love this stitch but hated my wobble edges now you have come to my rescue you can have my award of merit for the day ? NO for the whole month Keep Covid Safe
If you chained 10 plus 2, then DC in the 3rd chain and each one thereafter,...wouldnt there be 10DC PLUS the 2 chains we skipped over in the beginning of the row??? That would be 11 stitches total, or do we not count that?
I'm looking for crochet stitches that work well on jumpers/sweaters and cardigans so if I use this stitch will it just look like I'm wearing a giant blanket? I feel like knitting has good sweater stitches but I prefer crocheting. For some reason I'm struggling to find recommendations for crochet stitches that work well on cardigans.
It looks like it drapes well, so it should work for a sweater. I would use finer yarn though, maybe fingering or sport weight. Look at Tunisian crochet for interesting stitches too. I am currently making a cardigan with Tunisian crochet.
Great texture! If you start with an odd number of double crochet (dc) stitches _every row_ will start with single crochet (sc), front post double crochet (fpdc) and end with fpdc, sc. Then you can go on autopilot and not have to think how to start each row...
In theory I love that idea but would have to see it done to be able to do it
Thank you! That makes it so much easier for my addled brain 😅
MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄 I’m Crocheting Hats & blankets this Christmas and this stitch looks good for the men in my family. Thank you!!

I too find it very relaxing!!!! I have uncontrolled epilepsy and learning crochet has been great therapy for me!!!
I am absolutely in love with this stitch. I’m working on my second blanket using Yarn Bee sugar wheel cotton. It’s a 3 weight. I don’t usually use 3 weight but I love how this feels!! I am planning on making a few
hello, may I know what pattern did you use for your first blanket and how did it turn out?
Nice. I really love the texture that the front and back post crochets add to this blanket. Thanks!
How many yards do ai need for a throw blanket?
I really love the look of this stitch. Finally, seeing someone who holds the feeder yarn, in their non-hook hand, the same way I do. I feel liberated somehow!
Sapphire I hold the yarn the same way
That’s kind of normal.
There is really no normal in crochet. Everyone is different.
Thank you for a very clear and logical explanation - a pleasure to watch!
I started a baby blanket using this stitch and I love it! Such a nice feel to it.

A 'stash-buster project' - love that!
Wonderful color yarn!
You have your left hand do the yarn overs, too? I thought I was the only one! I always thought I crocheted “wrong.”
Any advice on how to change colour with this stitch please. Xx
I don't like having to go through the stuff of privacy as didn't really understand it so I accepted all. To download your pattern.. lovely pattern I love front and back posts. Ty for sharing. Xx

I've crochet blankets for about 45 years now and I've never blocked one. Even after washing and drying they come out perfect.
I always block mine, just because I find that it gives it a better appearance and it softens the yarn just a touch more. I personally love the look that blocking gives once the stitches relax slightly.
So simple.... with such a lovely effect!
Thanks for sharing! ♥♥♥
Great stitch.
Very clearly explained. Thank you
