    You’re a great teacher!!! I am so grateful to you the way you teach is amazing. Your explanation is very thorough and clear. So very very clear that you point out the right angle 📐 or stitch to where we needed to place our hook. Thank you so very very much!!! ❤❤❤

    You did a great job explaining were the stitches go. I’ve been crocheting for a while but I was still confused about that “ last stitch” thanks for clarifying. My only confusion is that skipped stitch on row 6.. I’m not sure y but mine looks like a double crochet not a fptr maybe I’m doing it wrong..?

  • @SynfullyWkd67
    @SynfullyWkd67 4 года назад +4

    Very beautiful, thanks for sharing. I am curious though, on the first row of double crochets as to why you didn't count the chain 3 as the first double crochet? Is it specific for that pattern? Also glad to see I am not the only one that single crochets into the back of the foundation row. It does make it so much neater and easier when adding a border. Happy Hooking!

    Thank you for this pattern it's very nice.
    I have started making it with some white fluffy chunky wool. I did order 10 in the Brett merino chunky in red but it's not really chunky.. gutted. I was going to comment on my piece as it's more of a twist look rather than a braid..? watching this again and It looks like I'm holding too tight.. I try not to but it must be why I cant see the middle braid. Hmm also I've missed to post! Just working the double then back to the triple!! Noo (I was in the garden while following.. Just carried on thinking 'yeah I can do that' after following once!! Tut tut. I do like the look of what I've done, My daughter asked me to make her something, I've turned it into a cusion cover.. When I do my throw it will be the propper pattern! 👍😍👍 Thank you. X

    Could you do a standing double crochet instead of a turning chain?

  • @dissodatore

    it might make it look more even if you added a stitch to the counts, (6+4), and make the chain 3 a first double and have a count of 3 DS before starting the braid, so you have 3 on either side.

    Thank you for sharing this tutorial! I used it to make an afghan. I’m new to crocheting and made the error where it got looser and wider as it went and I didn’t realize it until I was finished. Is there a way to fix it without starting over? If I do have to start over, do you have tips for avoiding the same problem?

    • @DebbieslikeOMG
      @DebbieslikeOMG 4 года назад +2

      Unfortunately there isn’t a way to correct it if you’re finished, but I would recommend keeping an eye on the width of your project as you’re going to make sure that you’re keeping the same tension. If you find that your work is much tighter in the foundation row I would recommend going up a hook size for the foundation row and the switching back to your normal hook for the rest of your project. You can also go down a hook size if you find your work is getting too large as you go, but really it’s all about maintaining the same tension as you go!

    • @Lexxie45
      @Lexxie45 4 года назад

      You might be able to fix it without starting over by blocking the whole afghan. It will be a major pain in the behind depending on how large your afghan is. When you wet block a crochet or knit item, you can stretch it to any shape you want and when it dries it will stay that way. If you don't know how to block it, search for wet blocking crochet. The end result will depend on what type of yarn you used. If you used acrylic yarn the end shape will be permanent but if you used wool or wool blend, you will have to block it after each wash. As far as avoiding the same problem in the future, Debbie's tips are perfect.

    I don't understand one part. If I chain 21 one way and skip the beginning of the next hole when I turn over, shouldn't I then have 20 chains on the next row? I keep getting 19 and I don't want to continue due to the fear of it being uneven like all my other attempts at crochet.

      Autumn Day unless it is a striping cake yarn, with really LONG color runs, I would NOT recommend that with any cabled pattern. A variegated yarn will look awfully busy with the texture of cables.
      Solid colors best show off the look of the cables.

    • @melodyd6037

      variegated yarn hides stitches and patterns. It competes with the stitches and usually wins out. Nothing looks good with variegated yarn imo, other than a small, non fancy stitch like sc.

      Yes the size of the hook matters. The hook is bigger and will create bigger stitches. The project will have a nice drape.

    Είναι πολύ ωραίες όλες οι τσάντες αλλά θα ήθελα τα σχέδια να εξηγούνται και στα ελληνικά.

    This is the first time when i see that chains of beggining being ignored.

      It's just dependent on how many you chain before starting a row. For example in the second row, she chained 3. The third chain stitch counts as the first in the row, allowing the 3-chain to be its own double crochet post

      Doesn't matter how many she chains if she doesn't use it as part of the pattern she ends up with an unsightly bumpy edge and that detracts from the finished piece. The pattern is lovely otherwise. And an experienced person can make the adjustment required to have a nice straight edge.

      @@margaretjohnston8055 How do you make the adjustment? I just did a sample of this and I have a bulky edge too.
