I just loved this pattern 💕 so I wrote out the pattern for myself, thought others may like to use it 🧶🌸
    Size 8mm hook MESH
    Chain multiple 3 plus 2
Row 1 SC in second chain from hook, then in every chain. Chain 2, turn.
Row 2 slip stitch (SS) into second stitch, chain 2 SS into next stitch, repeat across the row ending in a SS. Chain 2, turn
Row 3 SS into the first chain 2 space, chain 2 then SS into the next chain 2 space, continue to end of row. Chain 2, turn
Row 4 - 40 repeat mesh stitch ( 1 row SC and 39 rows mesh stitch) can increase rows as long as mesh rows are an odd number)
    Size 6.5 mm hook LACE
Row 1 Chain 1 HDC into first SS, then HDC into each chain space and each SS for the row ending with HDC into the last chain space. No chain before turning.
Row 2 First stitch is a “treble” but consists of 3 stacked SC - after first SC turn that stitch to the side and SC into the 2 side loops then repeat for the third (chainless triple crochet CTC). Then triple crochet ( TC) into every stitch in the row. Chain 1, turn.
Row 3 HDC into each stitch across the row. Chain 3, turn.
Row 4 DC sideways puff stitch into first stitch, where chain 3 is from (YO, insert and pull through loop, YO, pull through 2 loops, YO, insert and pull through loop, YO, pull through 2 loops, YO insert and pull through loop, YO pull through 2 loops and finally YO then pull through the 4 loops on hook) skip 2 stitches and SS into next stitch. Chain 3 and repeat puff stitch into the same stitch - repeat across the row. End with SS into last stitch. Chain 1, turn
Row 5 HDC into first SS, chain 2, skip the puff stitch, HDC into next SS, chain 2 - repeat for the row, ending with HDC into first chain of the turning chain 3. Turn
Row 6 start with chainless TC thenTC x2 into each chain pace and TC x1 into each HDC across the row. ( tip placement of stitch into HDC can be hard to find - it’s the V to the left of the HDC from the row before). Finish with TC into the last HDC. Chain 1, turn.
Row 7 HDC in each stitch across the row. Change back to 8mm hook, chain 2, turn.
Back to Row 2 of the MESH stitch rows.
Repeat Mesh and Lace Sections until desired length, ending with Mesh Section.
LAST row switch to size 6.5 mm hook at end of row, chain 1, turn
Ending Row SC into first SS and very SS and chain 2 space across the row. Chain 1 and tie off.

A tip for folks making starting chains shorter or longer than the suggested 101 - make sure that your chain is an *odd* multiple of 3 + 2, not an even multiple of 3, otherwise you won’t end on a slip stitch at the end of row 2. The suggested 101 (99 + 2) works, but 152 (150 + 2) doesn’t. Took me a solid 10 minutes of counting to figure out what went wrong on my first try. Hope this helps!

I worry he might get too cold over the winter so I'm going to make him a blanket he can cover his arms and torso up with when he's home so he doesn't have to wear his shirt. This looks super easy. I woll have to make it a little wider to make sure it can cover him better. This pattern looks nice and easy. I hope it's warm.

To vary size just add or subtract 6, not 6+2. I figured out the first row of sc does have to be even and a multiple of 3+1. My first row of sc was 100. So you were indeed correct. 👍😊

This was one of the most beautiful throws I've ever made! I used a white "I Love This Yarn" brand from Hobby Lobby. Super soft. I used powder blue on the row of the triple crochet and puff stitch. Then blue on just the middle puff stitch. I used the puff stitch in white as a border along the sides of the throw. So elegantly gorgeous!

After I did the lace with a different color and went back to the mesh, my mesh was wavy using the bigger hook again. Trying to make lemonade out of lemons by embracing the wavy “ruffle” as a border, I’m making this blanket instead as a baby blanket. I’m basically mirroring the mesh and colored lace and repeating the “ruffle” on the other side.
