I made this thanks to you wonderful tutorial and it turned out beautiful! It is a new home gift for my son and his girlfriend, I chose it because it looked modern and like it would work in their place. I love it and hope they will too - Thank you!
I really like how you teach - thank you!! I also never realized how easy it is to see the stitches when using Bulky weight yarn!! WooHoo! I never use Bulky weight - but now I've learned something new - THANKS! I've just subscribed and look forward to future notifications. I often just listen to directions via video and crochet along. As I listened and watched tonight, I heard something that made my antenna go up. I figured you misspoke (which is fine!), but may I be so bold to point it out? At time stamp 4:51 you stated: 'and now you will work 3 single crochets in each of the next 3 stitches'. It only took a moment for me to realize you meant ONE single crochet in the next 3 stitches.....it's an easy thing to say incorrectly - but for someone new to crochet - they may not catch it right away. I hope you don't take this as a negative comment - just thought you might want to know for future. Can I ask if you have ever worked this pattern up in a lighter weight yarn? I like the Bulky with the dimension it gives the blanket, I just have an awful lot of 4 weight yarn kicking around! 🤭 Thanks again!!
Thank you for your kind words! And yes, thanks for pointing that out, I do try to make a point to say to crochet in each stitch, but i’m glad you figured out what I meant 😅
Thank you for sharing!!! Currently making this with worsted weight yarn that I'm trying to de-stash just to make sure I have the hang of it before investing in the bulky yarn.
Such a beautiful blanket! It’s a challenge for me, specially because I haven’t had any practice in years, but I’m just starting mine and I’m having so much fun!! Thank you for sharing the tutorial 🙏
I have finished the throw and it has turned out very beautiful, but I realise now that in the first five rows you pick up the back stitch and in the last five rows you pick up the whole stitch. Thank you for this lovely pattern. 😊
absolutely excellent! you teach so clearly. this is very similar to another blanket I'm attempting but it was so confusing. Your instructions make it seem so easy! thanks so much!❤
Love this video. I don’t know how to do the foundation stitch so I will chain and do 2 rows of half double crochet. Everything else is really easy. Thank you.
@@julienewilkinson3798 if you need 79 foundation chains you will chain 81 then start your half doubles in the second chain from the hook. That will give you the 79 foundation chains.
Beautiful pattern! My suggestion for yarn substitution to make a bit more budget friendly: Use 2 strands held together of worsted Weight yarn to get the bulk..You can get some good acrylic worsted weight yarn that come in 1 pound skeins, for instance Caron 1 pound and Lion Brand..
Also please note that yes yarn costs money but maybe if you don't have money for the whole project buy a small batch and then add another purchase later when you can. Also know that real fibers are better for the body such as the wool she is using here. Acrylic yarn is made from oil that's a product that places forever chemicals into your body while working with it but also wearing it. EMFS and VOC.
Thank you so much for sharing your pattern and video. I was looking for something to get back into crochet. You’re an excellent teacher and made everything so easy to understand. The blanket you made looks so cozy and elegant. Happy New Year! This will be my first project of 2025.
Thank you for sharing this gorgeous pattern 🤎 I just finished mine a couple of days ago and it turned out beautiful! Can’t wait to do more in different colors
Me again Christine, with another question. Hope you don't mind? Does your 79-stitch count already include the 3 additional stitches (e.g. multiples of 4 + 3)? I tried adding on multiples of 4 + 3 to my 79-stitch count, and came up with an even number.Thank you.
Hi Christine. Thanks for generously sharing your beautiful pattern and tutorial. May I ask if I can replace the dc at the start of the appropriate rows with a STst instead? Thank you! 🙏
I started with just a chain and realised I needed a multiple of 4 plus 5 more, as you lose two chains when you come back in to do the hdc in the 3rd chain from the hook
I also am tired of making crocheted blankets, but this one is different. I will be making this one. I just subscribed and liked your channel so you have a new subscriber.
Very lovely pattern I would love to try but with a different blend (60silk/30wool/10cashmere). Do you think that works? It is a bit thinner (50gr=110meters)...maybe double it? Thank you ❣️
The crochet hook that this lady uses is from a company called FURLS!!! Very Very cool but VERY SPENDY! For a whole set that is mismatched or matching cost $700. But a crochet hook bought on occasion can be a treat for yourself! I see Furls being in a list for Santa each year!
I’m so excited to make this blanket! I’m making it for my son’s 18th bday at his request. I’m going to make it a bit bigger, but can you explain what you mean by 4’s + 3, I don’t get the +3 part? So make 7 more? Thanks for your help! I love your FB page. 😊
@@ensemblebyasaI guess I’m still a little confused, why do we need the extra stitches? Also my blanket my foundation is 160 so I should actually make it 163? Correct?
So you will choose any multiple of 4....so 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 and so on. And then add 3 more after that. This blanket starts with 79 chains. 76 is a multiple of 4 (19x4) and then 3 more makes it 79. Does that make sense?
The arrow stitch is a sequence made over a multiple of stitches rather than a singular stitch. The arrow stitch is made over 4 stitches total so yes, you should end up with 19 arrow stitches at the end of the row. 19x4=76 :)
Make sure to start with the correct stitch count, make sure to insert the hook into the correct stitch at the beginning and at the end of each row. Check very carefully where Christine inserts the hook. Make sure not to skip or miss a stitch. I know that problem. When I started crocheting, I had the same problem and it drove me crazy. Don't give up 😅
It sounds like you are mistakingly making your last stitch too soon, which would result in you losing stitches....I could be wrong though. How is your stitch count at the end of every row? You can always use a stitch marker at the beginning and end of each row to make certain you are going all the way to the end. Sometimes the last stitch can be hard to see.
I love this pattern and tutorial. This afghan is in my future! Thank you.

what do you suggest if you don't like doing the half double foundation to start?
Just with a chain of any multiple of 4 + 3 more. Work one hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook and in each ch across. ❤️

I love this blanket and your instructions are so helpful. I made my blanket too narrow. Any tips or suggestions to increase the width? Help please!
You could add a border on the long sides only - kind of like a mixed-texture blanket, with the arrows in the center and different stitch on the sides

This ergonomic crochet needle is gorgeous! Where did you buy it?
They’re available on Amazon. 2 brands are Furls and Omni ergonomic hooks
I love your crochet hook, will you share where you got it?
Furls 🤍
Definitely making this beautiful throw!! Nicely done!! I can only hope mines is as beautiful as yours!! ❤
Can I follow this same method to make a smaller baby blanket? If so, what size yarn should I use and how many of the chains do I need to start?
You could follow this pattern the same but with worsted or dk weight yarn for a smaller blanket 🤍
Lovely pattern I love the stitch. Where did you get your crochet hook and the color of hook.😊

@@SpottedHorseDesign Thank you.
Do stiches decreasae after first row of arrow stich?
No they shouldn’t be.

So much easier to make foundation hdc as you get the length you need in one go.

What is the approximate size of your finished blanket? I know I should do a gauge swatch but am curious what the target is.
Question: what size should the blanket measure out to in the end?
Approximately 40”x60”

well done thank you.
For a full blanket would we just make a foundation chain of half double crochet stitches for the length of our blanket?
What is the multiple so I can decide how wide?
01:20 multiple 3 plus 4😊
01:20 multiple 4 plus 3😊
Were dud you get your hook.
It is a Furls crochet hook . They are my personal favorite next to my Clover hook
Is there anyway I can do the chains I’m having a hard time doing the half double chain Ty

It may be a Furls crochet hook. I have several. They are considered an investment as they are a little pricey
What were the dimensions of your blanket?
Approximately 40”x60”

How come I ended up with only 19 arrow stitch. My base is 79 stitches? Please help

Depends on your gauge. Do a swatch and use your stitches per inch to calculate size.
