That’s lovely. One little tip. When you are twisting the strands for the fringe, twist each set of three strands in the opposite direction to the twist as you wrap, & that will keep the twist in place, otherwise it will tend to untwist considerably when you release it after knotting it.
I’m new to twisting. I’m confused what you’re saying. Are you saying to alternate twisting the opposite direction after completing the previous twist? Sorry for being so ignorant.
@@JazzyJude this video uses plant fibres but the principle is the same. He has done it the other way around - generally yarn is already twisted & you over twist it in the direction it’s already twisted, but the principle is the same. I’ve seen a better video but haven’t a clue where. If I find it I will link it. ruclips.net/video/X3I_ele6Ums/видео.htmlsi=u65L2WXIG3_Wyqf8
One thing I’ve found with this design is that if you start colour B from the opposite end of your row rather than joining it to colour A when you finish the row, you can just carry both colours up the sides without having to cut & rejoin them every time. If you make a border around the edge, you can ‘swallow’ the ‘carry ups’ into the border.
Forgive my ignorance, as I really want to do this idea. So your first row is color A, from right to left. Row 2, start Color B from right to left. At the end of row 2, draw up color A to finish last stitch. Turn your work and drop color B. Row 3 is all color A. But when I’m ready to change color to B at the end of the row, my working color B is at the other end? What am I doing wrong?
@@JazzyJudeYou can do it like this: Row 1, Color A: right to left Row 2, Color B: also right to left Row 3, Color A: left to right Row 4, Color B: also left to right So basically you aren’t turning your work after the Color A rows. You will be starting your Color B on the same side that you started your Color A. Hope that makes sense!
@@JazzyJude it doesn’t really matter which end you start or finish. What I do is when I get to the end of the row with either colour, I just pull the last stitch into a long loop to prevent it unravelling whilst I am working with the other colour. When I get to the end of the colour A row, I do an extended double crochet into the top of the last stitch of the previous colour A row - yarn over, push the hook into the top of the last stitch, pull through one, pull through two, pull through two, & that seems to be tall enough to give a firm but slightly stretchy edge. When I get to the end of the colour B row, I pull the last stitch into a big loop to protect it from unraveling. On starting the colour B row, I pull the loop back down to size & pull it through the space between the last stitch I’ve just made in colour A & the first 3 dc group, & then pull through once, & then make two chain & carry on as normal with colour B. I hope that makes sense. It’s so much easier to show than explain…… I’ve been changing my colour B every 2 rows so I just end the colour I’m using by cutting, leaving a tail & pulling it through the last loop. I then just start with a new colour for the next colour B row.

This is a beautiful (and easy!) pattern! I love the contrasting color that makes it look like each group of double crochet is a separate tiny block. So many possibilities of colors to use! Thank you for sharing and for the directions that are so easy to follow! 👌👏👍💕💕💕
This is a gorgeous throw and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors!!! Thank you so much for sharing this video. I appreciate you and your beautiful work. I can’t wait to start this!❤️
honestly i could listen to you all day long, you've got such a nice voice to listen to. and the blanket is super beautiful, added it to my wanna-do's immediately!
Hi Meghan! I mostly knit instead of crochet, but the YT algorithm suggested this video to me and I'm so glad it did! This blanket is stunning! I bought the kit and I'm inspired to create my blanket. Thank you for posting a tutorial!
What a cute blanket. I can't believe I haven't seen this type before....and no ends to deal with....that was the worst when I did my granny square blanket...
A beautiful blanket and excellent tutorial! I never would have combined those colors but it’s stunning. And I also didn’t know that Scarfie yarn would work so well for a blanket. Thank you for sharing!
I love this pattern , and I'm onto a 2nd blanket. The initial instructions were clear but a little fast, so I altered the playback speed. Thank you Megan, so happy with my blankets 17:55
I love your Magnus throw! I thought for a minute it was Madness throw. 😂 This is a great tutorial. I didn't have any problem seeing where you put your stitches with the Scarfie Lite. What pretty yarn and colors! I have done double crochet foundation row before, and always have problems with it. You made it look easy and so doable! I REALLY appreciate your alternative to weaving in ends. It'll take a lot of wear for these ends to come undone, if ever! Great tutorial, and great pattern!! Thank you 😊
Such a great tutorial... I'm experienced with crochet, I like to think I'm an Ole pro😂. I had gotten the notification that you had a new video and I saved it to watch for today. Omg I'm so glad I did... I needed this blanket in my life. I think this is a good mental break type protect that will come out stunning... Thank you so much for this video!!!
I’ve done this pattern so many time with a single colour and no fringe so really want to try this! It looks interesting as the different colour really sets off the blocks👍🏻
I just started watching this again [because I read my highlighted comment to the complainer] because when i "watched" the first time, I was just listening in while I read some comments and was sneakin' a peek back at what you were doing at certain points... See, I already "know how" to do a foundational single, double 'n treble, so I thought I would read until ya got to something maybe I didn't know already... If people have visual problems or any trouble seeing what you're doing, they can they can tap into the visual accessibility settings and learn to magnify their screen, they can learn to work the zoom feature as well as learn how to put their playback speed on 50% slower, or 25% if need be. They can also use the casting icon to transfer it to their TV. That should certainly make things clear enough. You don't need to justify why you do what you do on your Channel, and if they complain because THEY need help seeing, the above is ALL you need to tell them. It's not on you to see for them, "seein' " as you are a helpful, sharing person for doing the video, you can just help them figure out how to see better. That stuffs their complaint right back in their own pocket. Maybe, they'll learn from the experience! Lol. Since I actually watched this time, I actually learned something new... I had been doing that foundational Stitch wrong, going only under One Loop! My adjustment was not to figure out how to do it the right way, but to use a smaller hook when making the Foundational row, and then switching, but of course, you know that started another problem, so then I work with my tension some... it looks great, a little unique, but I've been doing it wrong. Your video had clearer spoken instruction than the other (gabby-chit-chatty) videos I've watched to learn this Stitch [or any other], I mostly just took the principles of what they began to show and figured it out [though wrong]. Looking back, I don't know why I didn't just turn the volume down on all the Distracting Chit Chat. I like it that you jumped right into it, but I think that lady wanting you "...to take 15 minutes..." was wanting you to take probably 5 to 7 minutes to show on a graph or explain before you jumped right into it, not to make another video to explain the first one. Your video was great, and that is why I subscribed. In closing, I want to tell you that that complainer, or any other, could take a lesson from this t-shirt I saw in a li'l ol' lady catalog that comes in my mother's mail. It reads: " I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you ". I think the same lesson applies for "seeing it" for them, so that is why the only thing you need to tell someone, is how to adjust their Electronics so they can see it better because they apparently don't know how to do that, or thought through how to solve THEIR OWN difficulty. Some people complain because they want you to fix it [their understanding or learning process] for them. This, is the way you can fix it for them... By encouraging them to learn how to work their Electronics. They can start by tapping the three dots in the upper right hand screen after a tap to the screen reveals it on a handheld device, or [whatever it takes] on a laptop or desktop....
I just got my kits from Lion Brand today and I'm so excited to start this beautiful blanket! I couldn't decide on the scarfie colors so I bought 2 kits. I'll make one for my son and his girlfriend and one for me. Yippee!

This blanket is turning out great and so easy! Thank you for a wonderful pattern! I do have a question as I approach the end of this project. How do you get the twist to stay twisted on the fringe? Each time I try it, it just untwists itself. Please tell me what to do different. TIA ❤
Beautiful ❤️

I'll try to see if there is something similar from another brand.
Thank you so much….thats sweet of you 🙏🏻❤️
I didn’t have any trouble seeing with the fluffy yarn. But for those that did or maybe don’t like using that yarn, what could you substitute it with? Could you use another color of the wool ease?
Very beautiful! How many yarn do you need for this? Thank you😊
