I usually hardly ever leave a comment. I am usually a silent watcher, but I got to say, this was the best tutorial I ever watch. Super easy to follow, and understand. Thank you so much. You have a new subscriber 😊 I am at 14 row, so far. Everytime, I feel like I am forgetting, I pause, rewind and rewatch. Love this step to step video. Can't wait to finish my blanket to gift to my mother.❤
@@paigesullivan327I’m sorry I just saw this. To make the same size she did you’ll need 6 skeins of the creamy white ( birch) and 3 Sailors Delight. Have fun
I love it. An easy way to make this blanket without cutting the yarn is to work the DC row from right to left, put a safety pin stitch marker in the last loop of the white yarn, Then go back to the beginning of the row and work the sc and ch 2 row also from right to left. Use the loop of the white yarn to finish the last stitch of the sc row, then turn and work the next two rows right to left, then right to left again.
I'm not sure I'm understanding your approach. I can't visualize it. It seems that front and back would be mixed up. Can you elaborate, indicating right and wrong sides?
@@dianebaron7300 yes, you have to ignore right and wrong sides, but since they are so very similar, it still looks fine. But for help in visualizing, you would work the right side twice, then the wrong side twice
Just made this blanket and absolutely love it. It is soft and squishy and works up beautifully. My husband told me this is his favorite blanket that I have made. Thanks for the great pattern and video.
Thank you! You are so easy to follow along with and your instructions are perfect. This is actually the first project I’m crocheting after only watching a couple instructional videos. I’m crocheting it in Bernat Teal Dreams (just using one color) for my 13 year old son. He’s autistic and has sensory issues, he’s gonna love the bigger spaces between the cloudiness. When I was pregnant with him I Knit a baby blanket that he kept with him 24/7 until we were forced to perform its funeral years later (he loved those hole a little too much 😂). Again, thank you so much for this. 🫶
This is such a beautiful yet easy pattern. It works up quickly. I made it with the same yarn used in the tutorial and absolutely loved it more than any other afghan I've ever made.
Hi there... This is the unique stitch which was my very first stitch, I learnt, a long time ago... I don't cut off the yarns at the end, I just, drop them and pick them up on every row. This saves time, weaving them in at the end. And the border covers all of the 'picked up' activity. Lovely blanket though. Thank you 👍🏼
This was a great project. Mine came out 57x 66. It was my second crochet project. I put 5 rows of white at the top and used white on the border. I put whit on the top as a visual cue so you’ll know the long side from the short side. Thank you very much for the tutorial. I won’t tell you how many times I started and stopped before I got the hang of it 😀 good instructions
I have a confession, I'm more of a colourful person...guilty of swapping yarns 😂 we don't get Bernat in India so I used yarn called Blankie from a local brand here. And I must admit it turned out ahhhmazzzzingggg 😍 In love with my blanket ❤ Thank you for this beginner friendly yet simple pattern...hope to make 1 more soon ✌️
Hello, I need your help, I am also from India and I will be making crochet blanket for the first time, can you please guide me as to how many Blankie yarn balls does it require to make a full size blanket. I liked this pattern and I want to make it exactly same shown in this video. Do I need the same amount mentioned in her description? (1530g for colour A and 750g for colour B)
@@renukashevade6475 No it will differ as per size you decided to make, I made the size randomly for queen size as I gifted it to my friend and it took me 80/yarns skeins of main colour and 72 skeins/yarns of second colour. So many yarns cuz the large quantity bundle was not available in my area. I would suggest purchasing the yarn as you crochet and figure out.
This might be helpful for brand new crocheters like myself but I had to do the initial chain using a size 12 needle because when I did it with the size 8, my stitches were way too tight and the 2nd row looked a lot looser because of it. I probably could have gotten away with using a size 10 but 12 was the only next size up I had available. The 2nd row looked much better the 2nd time around. I switched back to the size 8 after the chain row.
Thank you for this pattern and excellent tutorial! I made it with Bernat Baby Blanket in white and Pitter Patter and it’s adorable! I’m a beginner and got the rhythm pretty quickly.
Just started this today with the colors Birch and Ocean Shades. I already can’t wait to make my next one in a new color scheme! Thank you for this tutorial.
I'm on row 20! I previously got to row 18 then had to frog it all because I realised I'd messed it up (done a chain between each 3x DCs, and also did 3x chains between each SC instead of 2x!). SO worth re-doing, I love how it's coming together. It's taking me such a long time but I know it will be worth it.
I am making a large throw in this pattern and to say I LOVE it is an understatement. The instructions are easy to follow and it's working out so nice!!!!!! Thank you for sharing this blanket and how-to with us!
I said I wasn't going to buy anymore yarn until I've used majority of what I have, not! I'm going to get this in similar colors and make asap, thanks for a different blanket! Beautiful!
I'm making this right now in the same colors. This is my first time using this yarn...I'm not sure I like it, but I do like how it looks and how fluffy it is.
I’m in the process of making this lovely blanket for a gift. It’s so easy and feels very “cloud” like. Instead of variegated yarn I am using solid colors, four different ones, alternating. It’s looking quite nice however now I’m conflicted as to which color to use for my border or maybe I’ll use four different colors on each side, possibilities are endless! Thank you for this beautiful pattern❤.
I cannot believe how many people are asking about how much yarn to use and what colors you’re using! It clearly states all of this in the description below the video. And the Birch color can be found online at Walmart and eBay.
You are calming in your directions and your music is very subtle. I made a bernat blanket yarn blanket in the sage green and I get quite a few compliments. This pattern and the colors in the pattern are very interesting with out being over the top in difficulty
I love the chunky texture of this stitch! I'm currently making a baby blanket with it in Bernat's "Rasberry Kisses", and following that I'm making a wedding blanket for a friend in Bernat's "Vintage White"!
Hi it’s a lovely blanket but it’s really hard work cutting and changing colours every row. I take my hat off to you but it’s definitely worth it for the final result.
I dont like large holes in my crochet. So i adjusted the pattern a smidge. When doing the 3 solid double crochet i simply go thru the top center of the 3 double crochet below and it seals it up a bit.
Her pattern says 1,530 g of Color A (Bernat Blanket in Birch) and 750 g of Color B (Bernat Blanket in Sailor's Delight). These are sold in 300 g skeins, so I would buy 6 of Color A and 3 of Color B, if using the same exact yarn.
This is probably my favorite blanket of all the blankets I've seen and made! It's absolutely gorgeous! I made a blanket years ago with these two colors. I just did a simple hdc with the multicolor and 2 rows of hdc of the cream for the border. These colors are so pretty together. I'll be making this one soon and I'll use this stitch for a bag and maybe a pillow too, oh the possibilities are endless! Thank you so much for hous beauty ❤❤
These colors are so pretty together. I L💗VE it! So warm and so neutral. I will definitely be adding this to my pattern book. Thanks so much for sharing☺️!
If I wanted to make this afghan a wee bit smaller, can you please let me know what multiples I need to crochet in the chain in order to make a much smaller afghan? Love your videos & i appreciate the time you take to explain everything. Thank you ❤
To do it like that, you would have to mix the front and back of your blanket. If that doesn't bother you, then go for it :) I think the method you're referring to looks better with thinner yarn :)
Multiples of 3, + 6 for your foundation chain. The first 5 chains are used for the first DC, and the extra chain is to ensure you have an extra DC on each end to make the pattern work 😊
