Just finished my first cake of yarn for this blanket. It is beautiful. The scalloped edges are just fantastic. The perfect "mindless project" that I do while I'm watching tv while i'm unwinding at the end of my day. Thank you for this great tutorial!!
You're welcome! I'm so glad your enjoying the project. This is one of my favorite mindless blankets to crochet. Perfect for unwinding at the end of the day!. 😊
❤ This blanket looks amazing cozy, I def. will work it. Love your channel, thank's for sharing your handcraft-art. Always lovely to see young women appreciating and taking up manual work again. Like in the old days. ❤
Great video and lovely stitch. You made this so easy to understand. This will be a great crochet pattern to work on while watching tv. It's easy but looks like it was a ton of work. Will get large quickly which is great for making gifts for loveones for the holidays. It's awesome that it has finished edges so no border required.😊 That helps a bunch. Thank you for making the video.I'm a visual learner and while watching I quickly memorize the patterns and off I go. Best Wishes
Thank you so much! Yes, I think that's what I love about this stitch the most is that it looks complicated to make, but it really isn't. It's just a few simple stitches and then you repeat the same row over and over. Plus, it has a built in border that looks like little scallops. I think this would make such a cute gift! You can make them in all different colors. I'm glad you enjoyed the video tutorial and I hope you enjoy making the Haven Blanket. 😊✨
Love this blanket am going to make a double bed size throw for myself in three different shades of purple using this pattern. Thanks for the great pattern and tutorial. You have a new subscriber!
Wondering if you have a C2C Reverse Blanket Stitch pattern tutorial. Keen to try this beaut stitch in a different format. Love your stitch work and your helpful relaxing clips. Cheers from Western Australia. ✌🏻🧶🩷🌷🌿
I am in the process of making this now and I don't know why but 8 was making it so difficult to the point of praying and asking God to help me,lol, I know!!!! I got up this morning after struggling with it for days, ripping it out tons if times. Today must have been "the day" I was to get it. It's like God opened the sky and said, There you go,lol.. He must have been laughing so hard saying, you've had it all the time, you've just been making more of it than you should have. NOW, that 8m working it, I can't believe it missed it. It's Easy❤ I love it❤Sooo relaxing ❤Thank you❤
Aww, I'm so glad it worked out. Sometimes it takes a few times to get it right. But that's life right. The important part is though that you didn't give up and now you've got it! 😊 I hope you enjoy the process. ✨
I did, I've made 2 afgans using this Stich and love it ❤️ When I ended Row one, chained 2 and turned, it looked so weird,lol... it was just sticking out there and I was like what do I do with that??? I ripped it out sooo many times not getting past that point. One I picked it up out of frustration and said, You can do this!!!! So I chained the 2 after turning and not realizing that the chained 2 was to create the shell🥴 I think that's how to explain it. Anyway, it just reminds me to Never Give Up😊 Glad you figured it out and didn't give up🥰
You're welcome! Yes, that would look so cute. 😊 I just posted some matching pillows for this blanket too. You can make a whole set. Here's the link if you want to check it out: jewelsandjones.com/easy-chunky-crochet-pillow-free-pattern/
You're welcome! 😊 We're heading into the colder months over here, so the opposite. I hope you have a good summer though and enjoy making the blanket in the winter time.
Love this pattern. I’m working ona cocoon shrug that uses a very similar, if not the same, pattern called reverse blanket stitch. Very soft and snuggly.
I just found your perfect crochet channel! Beautiful simple patterns that look intricate, perfectly paced directions, and using my favorite colors in the lovely examples! New sub for sure. 😊 Thanks so much! ❤💐❤️
Well. This is serendipitous bc I just received 13 skeins of Hue & Me from Joann Fabrics tho I had planned to make a sweater, but now I might be using them for this bc I love this pattern. Thx for the video.
Excited about this pattern I have a lot of Hue + Me yarn I bought for granny squares and realized I don't really love granny squares 🤣 simple, beautiful. Would be nice gift for family too w/ Christmas coming up
Oh no! Well, this pattern will definitely use up those Hue + Me skeins. 😊 Yes, it would make such a lovely gift! You can make it in all different colors.
I was drawn to this because the picture made the blanket look like it had nice drape but I could also tell that there was really good stitch definition as well as it being a chunky yarn. Then I thought, "that could be a good stitch for my Hue and Me yarn" and lo and behold that's what you were using, lovely! 😲 I read a comment below that said they were making a cocoon shrug with this stitch, so as you responded saying you had a pattern of your own that uses this stitch I'll have to have a look to see if that would suit. I've been wanting to make a cardigan of some sort but didn't want anything too textured with it being a chunkier yarn but it looks lovely on your blanket. Thanks 😊
Oh that's so funny! And that worked out so perfectly. 😊 This stitch combo combined with Lion Brand Hue + Me yarn worked out so beautifully and the texture is so nice. It also drapes very nicely, and is warm because of the wool content in the yarn. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy making it. ✨
Thank you! 😊 Yes, I definitely think that would work with this stitch pattern. I think the chenille yarn will really bring out those stitches, and the fuzzy yarn will tone down the stitches a bit. You could always make a small swatch to see if you like the results too. That's what I always do when I'm testing different yarns out. ✨
Perfect! 😊 And the information for this pattern is also on my website. There is a link in the description box that will direct you straight to the pattern. ✨
Just to verify, at the end of row 2, you chain 2, then turn and repeat the 2 dc, 2 ch, 1 sc in the space under the 2 ch from the row before. I just want to make sure that I would do the 2 chains and then turn. This seems to be the pattern for what I often see as the “drunken granny” pattern. Do you know if that’s the case?
Hi there, yes, that's correct. You want to work your 2dc, 2 ch, and sc in that space (the ch2 space from the previous row). 😊 I haven't heard of the drunken granny stitch before, so all have to look into it. But I know there's quite a few names for different crochet stitches.
This is absolutely beautiful. I wish I had come across your page before I had already purchased yarn for a gift that I’m starting. So my question is, would it work with a yarn that’s not as thick as the one you’re showing. I have already purchased a 4 medium worsted yarn. And I have my fingers crossed that you’re going to say it should work fine obviously with a different size crochet hook also. Also, I love the way you show it on a sample piece because that’s how I practice before I start the big projects.😊
Thank you so much! Me too, I love making a little sample before I start. I actually made this pattern using worsted-weight yarn (the sister pattern to this one), so it'll definitely work. Here's the link to the worsted-weight pattern version: jewelsandjones.com/simple-crochet-blanket-free-crochet-pattern/ I hope you enjoy making this blanket. 😊
In the video and in writing for the number four worsted yarn, you say that you’re making a lapghan if I wanted to do a throw would I still be using the same amount of 132 chain and how many rows would that be approximately?
@@lindamoutinho7424 You could always increase the chain amount to make it a bit longer and then I would add a few more rows to it as well to accommodate for the size difference. If you do add chains to the foundation chain, make sure that your amount is a multiple of 4 (stitch pattern with this multiple). And then you could always measure the amount of chains and rows to make sure you like the width and length.
Hi there, I would recommend making a gauge swatch to see if you need to adjust the hook size. It might work, but I would definitely double check with a swatch.
You could do a puff stitch border. I made a simple puff stitch border for the worsted-weight version of this pattern. Here's the pattern if you want to see what it looks like: jewelsandjones.com/cozy-cotton-crochet-throw-free-pattern/
Can you give the total dimensions of the blanket? I’ve chained the 136 as stated in the video but the finished visual looks like it will be bigger than mine. I’m only about 8 rows in so I want to make sure I’m doing the right size.
Hi there, you can find all the pattern information on my website. Here is the link for the pattern: jewelsandjones.com/crochet-chunky-one-row-repeat-blanket-free-pattern/
I am working on this now. I added more slip knots for my foundation than 136, it was over 150, but the throw is only 33 inches wide. I'm disheartened because I'm making this for someone that will be moving in a few days. I'm worried it's not going to be big enough. I don't have time to start over, what should I do?
Hi there, I would add more rows to accommodate for the added chains to the foundation chain. So I would add a few extra skeins of yarn and that should do the trick. It should look bigger. 😊
Hi there, thank you. I'm glad it was easy to see the stitches. It's always a bit of a challenge finding yarn that will show the stitches properly through the camera.
