I just finished my queen-size blankets, and it's absolutely beautiful! My grandmother taught me how to crochet 30+ years ago. I just learned this stitch from you and I can't thank you enough for this video.
In South Africa it is to hot to crochet blankets in the summer. This is the ideal time to crochet a blanket, so today is the day. Our winter is here, and my lap is gonna be nice and warm while crocheting. Thank you so much for your beautiful patterns ❤
You're an absolutely brilliant pattern designer and an excellent teacher. I love all your projects and have done the majority of them!! Thank you for making most of your stuff free so everyone has the opportunity to make it.
This blanket is BEAUTIFUL & I can't wait to start working on the pattern. I'm always so thankful for these tutorials to go with the pattern as a newer crocheter!
Beautiful pattern and border ❤ I never thought to put picots around my star stitch patterns, but they almost look like rays of starlight coming off the blanket, super cute. Congratulations on your new granddaughter. Lots of love and yarny hugs 💗
What a beautiful blanket. I started mine yesterday with style craft chunky yarn. Your tutorial was excellent and easy to follow. Thank you for sharing and congrats on your beautiful grand daughter. 👍 💗 👍
Going to be making this as I'm on a time crunch to make a gift and this seems to be a pretty easy fast project. Also its really beautiful. Thank you for sharing-you're an angel.
Hi mj right now I am working on my cottage core mosaic blanket and granny squares blanket and half double crochet blanket and I love your channel and your videos and if you keep making videos I will keep watching them and what is your favorite crochet project to work on right now and favorite types of yarn to used when crocheting and keep up the great work on your RUclips channel and keep up the great work on your crochet projects ❤
Omg, just finished this blanket. Came out so beautiful and easy to crochet. Love the border too! Only took me 3 weeks. However, had to order 5 more skeins to make it longer
I FOUND YOU NOT SO LONG AGO. YOU ARE AMAZING!! THE WAY YOU INSTRUCT, THE AMAZING DESIGNS, AND YOUR TIPS ARE BEAUTIFUL. I HAVE LEARNED A LOT AND ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT. I HAVE TRIED THIS STITCH A MULTITUDE OF TIMES AND COULDN'T GET IT. I FOLLOWED YOU AND I AM DOING IT!!! NOT ONLY AM I DOING IT BUT I AM MAKING A WRAP. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO!!! AMAZING YOU!!!!
I’m in love with this blanket. So glad I watched your video as it’s so clear to follow. I’m going to have my first grandchild this year so this will be a great gift. (I hope) 🧶🧶
Love your instructions. I am glad you told me about washing the blanket after making. I didn’t like the yarn I received so I got wool ease thick and quick.
Such a beautiful blanket. I've made many star stitch fingerless gloves. My sister saw this stitch and loved it. Think I'll surprise her and make a blanket. Thank you!
Love love LOVE this stitch! Makes a beautiful blanket and I think I will make some dishcloths with this pattern too! Thanks again, MJ, for another great tutorial! ❤️
I’ve unraveled 3X already 😢 idk what I’m doing wrong. I counted 113 and when I am doing the star at the end I am counting 8 loops on the hook instead of the five you mention.
Do you think it could be realized in cotton? I am looking for a spring blanket! Otherwise, which of your marvelous blankets could be realized in cotton?
Hey! Wanted to use this pattern for a crop/tank top could you please guide me for the same ? Like for a length of 11cm how much long should my base chain be?
This is stunning!!!😍🥰 is it possible to make squares and join them later? Like a granny square blanket?🥰 its easier to work and travel with smaller pieces❤️
Finally I’ve found someone who crochets like me using the middle finger as the guide and not the forefinger …subscribed because you’re awesome and so is this beautiful pattern. Just a question…would that be 10 ply yarn or Aran or is it bulkier than that? Thank you!
Hi MJ !! I’m so happy to discover your patterns and designs and bought the pattern (although you have no idea how much I appreciate you offering free on your blog), I have a quick question I noticed after 1st stitch in eye, the 2nd loop is pulled through both the front and back leg of that stitch before doing the 4 th pull up… I noticed in other Star stitch tutorials they only go through the front leg… does this stitch make it more stable to go through both legs or is it just a preference ? You are genuinely a talented designer and are so generous with your art, and I’m thrilled to bits to start the pattern… I actually have chained all the stitches and then my OCD brain picked this up and felt should ask !! 😊
I have a question about sizing. I have just completed the first five rows, which has used almost one whole skein. My work is 51" wide. If I calculate by 17 that only gives me 51" length and no border. I think I should go down one hook size and see how that works. What do you think, would that ve enough?

How many chains have you started with for a queen size blanket and how many chains do we need for a king size blanket with 10mm hook
Thanks for not only a clear explanation, but for using a dark-colored hook with light yarn! Makes everything easier to see and follow!👍🏼❤️

I just saw the Short for this video and couldn't get here fast enough! MJ, as usual, this design is lovely. 💜
Glad you like it!
How many skeins would I need of a 4 weight yarn with 209 yards each. If I wanted a 60x100
Love this! I have a ton of worsted weight yarn I’d love to turn into this pattern. I’ll have to fiddle with it but I know I can do it.
You can double up worsted or just make the blanket bigger 💗
