The screams of the goblin in this scene scared the shit out of me as a kid
😂😂
Me too 😂
He sounded like a freaking monkey when he revealed himself.
tbh it probably scared me too and scarred me to fear those especially in dark souls

The part where he dodges the blades was the coolest fucking thing ever as a kid
It will be nice to see Tom Holland's Spiderman do that in Spider-Man: No Way Home!
@@thatonea-hole That would be wild!! Can’t wait to see all 3 Spider-Men
My favorite part as well
Not going to lie but I actually tried to imitate that part where he Dodges the pumpkin blades when I was little I was actually pretty good at it only the part where he did the thing from The matrix where he bends his back backwards horizontally
@@thatonea-hole tobey did the same spin in no way home when Goblin arrived with his stinks 😂
I just love this scene with the cop when Spidey immediately says that he's going, and the cop struggles a bit before saying "I'll be here when you get back." Spidey says he isn't coming back, but instead of getting angry at the remark and trying harder to stop him (in fact, he looks knowingly-resigned, like he knew he'd say that), the cop implores him to hurry and save the woman inside. Definitely on the good side of To Be Lawful or Good.
Everything about this scene is perfect.
This whole fight scene to me is one of the best ever in a movie lol
That "I'm not coming back, chief" is so badass.
His little reaction there is what makes the scene. Always loved that part
After years of watching this scene it only just dawned on me. Goblin set this place on fire just to confront him.

It's a small part, but the actress playing the mom absolutely crushed it. It's something that pops into my mind from time to time years after the first viewing.

@@aaronkenyon7112 Props to the lady for nailing her role. This is what I call background characters at their finest
@@aaronkenyon71120:52 I felt so bad for her
Can we just talk about the outstanding performance of the mother in this scene. You can feel the dire urgency and pure panic and terror of her baby being in danger. The fireman won't let her pass. Enter spider man. In a final attempt of hope for her child she screams "SAVE MY BABY PLEASE". While waiting in terror that her baby might already be dead you see her quivering, then the window explodes and she screams thinking that was it and thankfully Spidey got her baby out in the nick of time. I also like the attention to detail that she attends to the baby before thanking the rescuer because that's what anyone would do in that situation. I'm just saying give that actress an Oscar.
Good sarcasm/satire
And also that she left her baby in a burning building
I wouldn’t say she’s a good mother if she either left a baby unattended or ran out and left her baby when the fire broke out

it makes sense Peter is a genius and understands physics, the way he maneuvers his webs that way you need to know wtf you doing.
That's one thing I liked about Amazing Spider-Man when he was making the webshooters. He had to test out the tensile strength of them first. I can imagine it being very complicated. He has to make them strong enough to hold his weight as well as make them strong enough for him to not rip them cause of how strong he is
The best Spiderman, and for anyone who's asking why the cops try to arrest him, I'll tell you why. It's because when goblin attacked Jameson, he blamed the attack on Peter even though he tried to stop goblin. Since Jameson doesn't appreciate spider man and treated him like a menace, he had his workers write a lie saying he was responsible for the attack and the cops believed that lie That's why
And Jameson is the only Bugle member that thinks that. Robbie and Betty Brant see him as a hero.
Also Spiderman has been commiting vigilantism the entire movie. I mean he has been helping in small matters, but Spiderman could still be scene as a vigilante as he hadn’t been deputized under New York State law, he’s techinally a criminal.
I like that Jameson protects Peter when he got choked by the goblin by not telling him who the photographer of Spiderman is ( well maybe only for his selfish need to keep Parker to take pics of Spiderman for more slander but who knows).
Nah. Jameson is sleezy, but he loves his job and he is very integral to his work. You see this when he comments on libel and fires Eddie in the third movie. And of course, he cares about this staff and wouldn’t just sell someone out. He’s an American businessman but not a monster.
J Jonah Jameson doesn't see Spider-Man as hero he's sees a vigilante and a menace in spider-man which is annoying too it's been annoying to for decades and it still is Spider-Man saved jameson life a thousand times and never a thank you or nothing just blame Spider-Man for every heroic thing that Spider-Man does Spider-Man has been favorite hero

The part that brings a tear to my eye is the sense that when people come together to do good, especially in a scene like this when urgency is needed. Seeing the cop say “Go Go!” To Spider Man just showed that people always want to help others. Also, the heart that this movie has is something of a rarity. Look at the acting from Tobey in times of desperation/adversity or something as simple as the acting on the mother’s face praying her baby is saved. Certain movies move me emotionally, this is one of them.
The Goblin one of my favorite bad guys

9/11 wasn’t too long before this movie came out in 2002.
I’m sure every New Yorker watching this was somewhat reliving that day in their head 😢
Not a New Yorker, but I agree. the fire, heavy presence of the cops, citizens and fire fighters in this scene, it definitely felt like reliving that day for me at least when I saw this in theaters.
1:30 This shows that deep down that cop knew that Spider-Man wasn't really a criminal. Spider-Man right then and there said that he wasn't going to come back if he went to save the seemingly trapped civilian, but that police officer knew that only Spider-Man could save that person and willingly chose to let him go despite knowing that it would mean letting him get away. A cop would NEVER do that for a person that they knew was a criminal and I like to think it shows why Peter still chooses to keep being a superhero after Green Goblin told him in how despite everything Spider-Man's done for people they will still always eventually hate him no matter what good he does for them. He sees in the police officer's decision in letting him go that despite some citizens calling for his arrest, that there are some people in New York that still know he is doing genuinely good deeds and that he's needed.
😐... your comment is so surface level and one-noted with the argument you've shown...

Did you ever notice how spidey cut into the building with his swinging technique by using the light pole to change trajectory
The one thing I've never understood about this scene is why the cops wanted to arrest Spider-Man even though he VERY clearly did a good deed, as he just saved a woman's baby and not only that- it wasn't like this was The Amazing Spider-Man's case where Captain George Stacy thought that Spider-Man was an anarchist and was just as bad as the criminals! The cops never even tried to arrest him after this scene either, which is why I never understood that part! I mean, they would've had plenty of other opportunities to do so after all
Before this scene, the Daily Bugle made Spider-Man look like a bad guy after the whole Bugle incident. Peter also mentions that J Jonah turned the whole city against Spidey in ‘Spider-Man 2’.
Because the daily bugle said he and gobie boi are working together
“One good deed isn’t enough to redeem a man from a life time of wickedness.”
“Though it seems enough to condemn him.”
I realize that quote doesn’t completely fit here, but it’s somewhat appropriate. The police believe he’s a criminal, and that he helped attack the bugle with goblin. To them if doesn’t matter that he’s doing something good, he still needs to be arrested in their eyes.
@@iambuhlockay8007 While that makes sense, they still could've attempted to arrest him again after this scene- which they never did!
