Thanks for the great test about consumption. It also confirms my statement of max. 4Ah consumption for the fan at full power. 5 liters of diesel for 10 hours tells me that is a 5kW heater. 1 liter of diesel = 9.7 kWh of energy In our case the heating runs at a maximum of level 5 and in a 6 meter Ford Transit without insulation (glass windows) that is warm enough to sleep on. We have installed an additional 60 liter tank for the heating in our bus (legal situation in Europe), so we can always get through the cold evenings in France and the Alps safely for 14 days. Greetings from Praha Georg
Got one, looks exactly the same - 8kW. Worked fine first time. Second time throws E03 code at start up over and over. Got the plug out - reads 1.275kOhms. Check out the internet, good should be 0.5 -2.0Ohms. Called Amazon, as the seller states this item is not returnable or refundable. My expectation was they would at least send me a new plug. After some 5 minutes on hold the rep. comes back and goes: “listen, we will refund you the full amount instead.” I say send me the plug… He: “we will refund it. And you can discard or donate the unit at your discretion” What? Great! Thank you! So I ordered the plug…should come tomorrow. Meanwhile I think I figured out why they wanted me to discard it: while assembling the unit back I realized it was leaking diesel really bad. The cap gasket reacted to the diesel fuel and swollen. It expanded like 1.5 times literally, and got jelly soft. The edge of the rim of the fuel tank is so flimsy that it had deformed. So to operate it safely I also need to buy a new tank and a new cap. Or I can run it using my external marine tank. What a ride! I LOVED the thing when it worked, though the pump is pretty noisy. And since I got the heater mostly for free (minus glow plug and a fuel tank) I might get a quieter pump for it too. Just want to make sure first that it works with a new plug and nothing else is falling off it. 😂
Just bought the 8kw. I have had the vevor 5 kw for two years and loved it but had to have the bluetooth for the rooftop tent. I may be charging a monimal fee to my freinds when we are camping if they want to tee off and have some heat overnight...
I totally enjoy watching your videos about diesel heaters, very informative! A question I have is,you also did a great video on the Wippro . Do you have a favorite as far as performance between the Vevor and the Wippro? Are they both good performers? Thank you for the great tips.
Hello! I'm writing to you from Central Europe and have the same device, just the slim version. To counteract the blackout or short circuit problem, I installed a 14Ah motorcycle battery in the workshop heater. The battery is charged via a 24V/5A power supply and a PWM solar charge controller (< 10 euros). If the power goes out, the heater will continue to run until the heater no longer receives enough power and switches off in a controlled manner. During the starting process, the 14Ah is enough and when the heater is in operation, only the fan requires power and this draws a maximum of 4A from the battery. Then the glow plug no longer works. Diesel = self-ignition
Sorry! After seeing Hcalory diesel heater. It's superb over the vevor. Both the intake and exhaust don't come from the bottom. Bluetooth seems to be better too.😊
Is the link for the Vevor the same one in the video I don't see any mention on the Bluetooth feature on the page? Also are the other brand heater links are they Bluetooth also? I was really wanting the 8k version instead of 5k. Oh yeah some of the links are no longer available Thanks
If you have a Samsung phone you may need to download the apk file, but it doesn't always work, the app store file does not work with a samsung phone for some reason.
@gerardkaasplank3804 yes, you have to download an older version of the heaters apps software, you need to download an apk file opener, if you search you tube you can find how to do it.
You ever have problems with the Bluetti starting these heaters? I have two Bluetti power stations and neither will start these diesel heaters. They require 12v 15A and the Bluetti car outlets are only 12v 10a rated.
Have you ever had lack of power (E-02 Code) or problems with insufficient supply from the 12V/10A supply off the Bluetti? I tried their AC70 with an aftermarket 12Volt 16Gage wires but perhaps being 6’ long there was too much resistance?
This is what I'm wondering. I remember hearing that most of the power drawn is from startup. After it is running it does not draw much power. I know I am going to purchase the vevor heater. But I'm in the market for a power device. What do you guys recommend?
Can anyone tell me if it does a complete shut down when it reaches temp or is there an option for it (like most others) to have it stay on and go to low?
Looking at this exact unit. I'd love to see how many watts it pulls with the glow plug pulling max power. Looking forward to your next video where you test this out!
Is the temperature gauge in the Bluetooth display? and is it possible to extend the cable to the Bluetooth display. I would like to get the display into the boat. and thus also measure the correct temperature if the temperature gauge is in the display
Hi Robert. Ordered the Wippro following your review but the new Vevor with bluetooth would be handy. The Wippro without bluetooth is near double the price here in Canada vs the Vevor, but the Vevor still has the fuel pump ticking (which would be annoying) and after the review a higher fuel consumption. Are you aware if there are fuel pumps available that don't tick and could be swapped out also If you were to buy one diesel heater which would it be? Appreciate your vids, thanks Ward.
Was just about to ask Robert the same question. Wippro is $339CAD but might be the better choice overall unless the newer Vevor ($189CAD) is just as "quiet" 😎
To be 100% honest, the WIPPRO is significantly quieter, significantly. It does not need a upgraded quieter pump, I do think the Vevor one does, it was loud
Nice review, I just got the exact same unit but 8k which I found out that I just overpaid for a 5k with a 8k sticker😂 After 3 nights at between -5 to -10c, I got 12 hours on a full to the top tank of diesel running at setting 4 in my tent 2 nights in a row. Diesel is $2/L in Canada now so 10$ a night. These are not cheap to run, propane and electricity are cheaper here. I think I will try a 4"hose with a wider air adapter on the end, I find the stream of warm air is very narrow and tends to heat up only precise parts of my tent that it is directed. The units remote and especially Bluetooth work great and the unit runs perfect so far just wish is was more economical to use. I also made a cover out out a plastic bin with holes cut out for intake and outtake and slot for exhaust. It keeps the unit about 10 degrees warmer, cuts down the ticking to can barely hear it, keeps it protect from the elements then just flip it over and it becomes the storage carrying case.
@@sherburnoutdoors thank you. I just bought one and it came in yesterday. The first few times I started it it would heat up then shut down. Now it’s running great. The only thing is when it shuts down completely it also shuts the 12v off and I have to pull the plug and plug it back in again. My other diesel heater didn’t do that. I use the EcoFlow. Any idea why it’s doing that?

you can change it from C to F in the menu and much more.

Thanks for the feedback, they both perform the same pretty much but the WIPPRO is significantly quieter
Thank you, I assumed that from the video you did.
Awesome review! I just got the 8kW unit. I’m curious does the ticking keep you up at night in your RTT?
@@AdventureGearTV some of them do, the Wippo ones seem to be quieter than the rest
Excellent testing.
I believe the 1.3 gallon capacity is the tank plus fuel line?
That fuel line is pretty short
@@sherburnoutdoors It's probably also in Imperial gallons which is 1.2 to 1 American gallon.
1.3 Gallon could be imperial (Canadian) which is a larger capacity than a US gallon. Metric litres converted to Imperial Gallons is more!
Can you run 2 or three at one time with bluetooth??

They are Yoga blocks for doing exercise with, super cheap on Amazon

I need to check Hcalory, I have been hearing good things and I agree on the intake and exhaust coming out of the bottom
Thanks for your video. Q. You mentioned that you wouldn't use the diesel heater in your garage area. Why is that?
They need to exhaust outside
Any possibility of putting that quiet fuel pump on this heater?
I was thinking about that
will this start on only 10A vevor says it needs 13A to start and 4A to run considering buying a powerstation to run it off
