    FAQ Part 2:
    Q - I want to increase my capacity but I don't want the ride height to change
    A- Don't think about installing coil springs, install an air bag and compressor, then you can pick your ride height at any time at a push of a button. However one down side is that an air bag systems like this can cost up to $2500 to install.

    Installed the 351-893HD on a 2023 Ram Rebel, crew cab, zero change in the ride height. Slightly stiffer ride in rear end, feels fine. Note, if you don't have a pit to work in, it's a easy changeout to remove the wheels and work from the side.

    Just installed the HD +35% load capacity on my 2020 ram 1500 quad cab, factory Offroad Package with a Rough country N3, 2 inch leveling strut in the front with rough country forged upper control arms. After 45000kms my truck finally rides amazing, super stable, no more body role, added more suspension travel with these new coil springs combined with a set of rough country N3 0-3 inch lift shocks in the rear. Very happy with my set up. Big thanks to you guys at Simcoe springs 👍

    Installed these on a 21’ new body style 2wd, the 351-905xhd, over the factory springs and added spring helpers. Day and night difference ride quality on 22’s limited wheels(most hated at the moment). But I was trying to accomplish to level it to match the front and I think I got more than I bargained, it looks like it lifted about 3” from the rear and in the front I have a 3” leveling puck. It looks like it skipped leg day 😂😂

Since there is somewhat of a lift, which is fine with me, should I put a leveling kit on the front to still make it look factory? Regarding ride comfort/quality for 2022 1500 RAM, is there a difference when installing the 351-905HD and the 351-905XHD springs? Since the ride height increase is the same I am thinking of going for the XHD, but only if the ride comfort/quality is about the same. Thanks in advance for your answer(s)!

    I have a 2020 Ram 1500 I installed Bilstein 6112's set just below the 2" setting up front, 5160's in the rear, Geolandar G015's 285/75R18 and a set of Timbren bumpstops.
    Put a pallet of water from Sams Club and it still sagged in the rear so hopefully this is the last thing I need to add. Been building this rig so I can have a 1500lb slide in camper for surf trips without having to move up to a 2500.

    Just found this researching springs for my 22 1500. My stock rear is only around 38-1/2”. The truck you are using has the off road package and sits 1” higher than stock to begin with. So all of your dimensions should be +1” more for an actual stock Ram 1500. So 2-1/2” lift over stock. The one that says -1 is actually stock height

    • @simcoespring
      @simcoespring  8 месяцев назад +1

      You are correct. This truck has the Rebel package (which I didn't find out till after the video was published), So, I would add 1" of ride height to all the coil springs in the video.

      So my '18 Bighorn will lift 2.5" vs the 1.5" stated in this video? I Purchased the 893XHD spring the other day . If so I'm content with that as I considered adding a 1" spacer with this spring.

      I have a 3.5" leveling lift kit installed. I carry some tools in my ram boxes, and my rear end sits about .5" below the front. Tools live in truck would like to level it out. Would the 351-891Hd be significant to over come that weight and level me back out again?
      (I did not start with off road pkg, 2020 new body)
      Or perhaps go with the 351-893XHD and remove the 2" spacer on top of the rear coils currently installed.

      we have had people use the TIMBREN SES kits along with the 1.5" lift coil springs. Basically I'd ship you an extra 1" spacer that you can bolt to the kit so that the Timbren kit still functions properly.

    • @simcoespring

      Undoing the sway bar lets you get the coils in easier. If you are removing the tire, you might not have to take the sway bar off because you can feed the coil in through the side of the vehicle.

    What’s your opinion on the timbren vs an upgraded spring? I haul a travel trailer during the summer. I’m leaning towards the springs, my opinion is the spring should be doing the work and the bump stops are a last resort.

    • @simcoespring
      @simcoespring  4 месяца назад

      if you have a 09-18 or the 19-24 classic, then we usually recommend the 351-893XHD It will give you all the capacity you need for whatever you are doing, anything, any time, anywhere.
      Timbrens are great if you only tow 1-5 times a year and you just use the truck as a daily driver the rest of the time.
      The Timbrens have a space between the rubbers and the axle, so it should just ride like normal when you are empty and acts like a secondary suspension when you are loaded.
      Basically its there when you need it, not there when you don't.
      DR1500DS for the regular Cab truck
      DR1500DQ for all the other cab trucks.
      We have them on our website as well. www.simcoespring.com

    Great video! I have a 2022 Laramie with 1545lbs payload capacity. I tow a 26ft travel trailer that scaled at 6300lb with our normal camping load. My loaded tongue weight runs around 850lbs. I am not looking for a big load capacity increase. Your 351-893hd gives a .5" lift but has no rating for % increase in carrying capacity. Does that mean that there is no increase, or just no data at this time. I would really like to get a set, but only need about 15% more capacity.

    I have a 6inch pro-comp lift ilon my 2019 which the lift was already installed when I bought the truck on my bday 2months ago. I do need to bump the towing capacity and payload but these seem that they will not be ideal if my truck has a 6inch lift kit. Is there anything I can do? Besides upgrading the rear shocks to something that has adjustability with the stiffness and what not?

    • @simcoespring
      @simcoespring  8 месяцев назад

      If your truck has an all coil lift kit, then there isn't much you can do. Some air bag companies make an extension tube to adjust for the different heights of vehicles, However there isn't a cargo coil or towing coil that has a lift as well, beyond maybe 1.5-2.5" in height. Nothing compared to a 6" lift coil

      coil spring for a more well rounded multi-use vehicle. farmers/tradesmen etc.

    Question. I have a 99 f250 super duty with the 7.3. I'm looking into changing my front coil springs to a variable rate spring, do you think that would be a good upgrade to give better ride comfort. And would I need different shocks to change to a variable springs?

    • @simcoespring
      @simcoespring  5 месяцев назад

      First of all, it must be a 2 wheel drive. We have installed quite a few variable rate coils in these over the years and always had pretty decent results. They will ride as good if not better than the normal coil springs. However you do have to realize that the engine is a 7.3 diesel and they are very heavy, so if you put a gas coil spring in, it might not be able to hold up that engine and might lower the front. I would recommend the stock shocks. If you want to upgrade get some beltech or Gabriel shocks.

    • @matthewmlcak4167

    • @simcoespring

      the chart at the end has all the heavy duty coil springs with or without ride height adjustments. However there is no guarantee that you will get a payload increase if you decide to lower the ride height by 1"
      If you want absolutely no height change at all, then you need air bags you can adjust as you load up the vehicle.

    • @simcoespring
      @simcoespring  3 месяца назад

      if you are towing, we normally just upgrade the rear coil springs.
      If you have a slip tank or a slide-in camper that is permanent then you can use the HD Front coil springs.
      Just check your year/make/model for which coil you need at www.simcoespring.com
      Shocks are a separate option. if you are towing part time without permanent loads, then just stick with stock shocks. If you are towing/hauling or have a permanent load, then I would recommend upgrading the shocks to something more heavy duty.
