@@dennmartin6736, I’m looking around here in 2024. The SXT, GT and R/T standard models have 7” screens, the SCT Plus, GT Plus and R/T Plus models have an 8” screen. Everything above the R/T (T/A, Hellcat, etc) have 8” screens as standard.
I love my RT Plus Shaker in a 6 speed... Amazing, authentic muscle car driving experience with modern refinements. You can't beat the theatre of any Trim of V8 Challenger IMO
I had a 2018 SXT white knuckle Challenger with a Borla Atak cat back exhaust system for a few months and sold it for a 2020 Octane Red Blacktop PKG R/T. I'm happy 😊
Interesting! I own a 2011 with the Pentastar V6 and my exhaust sounds a bit more bass than that at idle. Love the car and yes, have gotten a number of nice comments over the years. Interesting enough, Challengers are considered full size cars due to their dimensions as opposed to the Camaro and Mustang. It’s literally the last full size two door rear wheel drive car you can get today in the US.
I have very faint memories of my fathers nova but I never quite forgot the rumble of the exhaust. I purchased a v6 because I needed to have something that would link me to those times. I just sold my v6 to a relative and got a hold of a 18 v8. No joke, the nostalgia has had me driving it around like a child. The rumble. I love it. No knock on the v6 but I have done enough research to know that there are mods available to make your v6 sound like a savage. It great to see this era of muscle car make a comeback. The streets are alive again.
I have a 2019 5.7 Challenger the active exhaust is fantastic the cold start sound alone is worth the price of the car everything also 1st car I every owned with performance pages which was a nice surprise.
Yeah even the pipes on the older SRT8 isn't great, and was one of the first mods that I did on my Challenger when I got it. They are not only restrictive, they are also heavy and is the last thing that they need. Those huge suitcase style resonators are ridiculous, and the new system thankfully deletes them. Basically consists of 3" with open chamber racing bullets and is almost like straight piping, but better because of the increased diameter and flow so much better than stock

DOCUDRAMA the shaker is a kit which improves cold air density in the intake. It does improve horsepower by a little not by much. It works better on carbureted setups. The shaker is a package of the r/t
Yeah unfortunately because they don't use lumpy cams in them these days, the Shakers don't shake much and barely move. So they are void of any shimmy action going on, and would be cool to see one if somebody added a cam to their car. The exhaust on the new ones are so much nicer than the older set up, and replaced the ones on my Challenger from the cat's back with SLP loudmouth 1s. Which basically consists of 2 super loud open chamber racing bullets on 3" pipe and allows for reso delete, so it's basically like straight piping them except better because of the increased diameter. They sound amazing and are menacing as hell
I've noticed that the 2014 Challenger SXTs sound better than the 2015+ exhaust. The 2015+ sound more tin can-ish and the 2014s are a bit deeper. It's most likely the fake exhaust tips on the 2015+

My 2017 Challenger rt gets between 23 to 25 on average. My best was a 188 mile round trip to Oklahoma. I averaged 27 mpg. Speed limit was 75 mph. My 2012 Challenger SXT would average around 25 to 28. I am happy with the Hemi.
I have a 2016 sxt blacktop and I took the resonators off before I even hit 1,000 on the dash. Its too quiet. Sounds great for now until I get a proper exhaust.
So let's say you could go back in time....be standing at the dealership with your 12k down payment in hand, and they had the same SXT plus you DID buy sitting next to that R/T with shaker. Would you still buy the SXT or go for the shaker?

Blacktop package, otherwise base model but already had aftermarket catback exhaust and K&N CAI installed and the marker lights tinted. Contusion blue with the blackout package is just perfect IMO.
Did you have the timers on the dash before the tazer? I have a 17 dodge charger rallye and don't have the timers. I've been thinking about the tazer but don't if it's worth it.

Save the gas and just put supercharger in your V6, you'll add another 150-175 HP. Just get a sxt or a gt and put a supercharger in it and you'll spend less than just buying a basic RT. You'll have lower insurance, fuel costs than an RT plus you have AWD and more HP in comparison. Of course you could also put a supercharger in an RT but at that point you might as well just buy a hellcat.
Hey SlammedNCammed2V, i got my 2017 sxt plus 3 mo ago, gas mileage is good, speed limit is fairly slow where i live so ive been getting around 23-24 mpg, but when i head to the city where spd limit is faster and more hwy driving ive gotten 25-26 avg. less mpg the more you use Sport Mode but its worth it lol. Hope this helps.
I have the 2017 SXT PLUS as well, fucking love the car, it's my daily driver, my commute to work is about 10 miles to, and 10 miles back, my MPG is pretty bad, system says it's around 15 in the city. It does eat gas quite a bit, BUT, I'd imagine it eats the least compared to the other higher (V8) models
You made it seem like to get the 5.7 v8 Hemi they need to get the R/T w/shaker. Its okay i just restated thats all. Watch and explain correctly cuz u can confuse new buyers.
No matter what you do to a SXT, they dont sound like a V8. The sound is just too high pitched and sound more like an import. A new exhaust will help but they still dont have that rumble of the V8's, ...especially with the V8 active exhaust system. But they get the better mileage and look great. But if trying to make them sound like a V8 is the goal, save your money or just get a V8

I owned 2 Mustangs a V-6's a 2006 which had a great leather interior and the 2013 which had the base interior but a much stronger 305 V-6. I also once owned a 1976 Pontiac Firebird 400 V-8 with only 180HP factory HP none of these cars while nice takes me back to my 1969/70 senior year in high school where my friends had 383 Road Runners, Nova SS 440 GTX's 289 Mustangs, etc. Now I own a 2019 5.7 RT Challenger which has the exact sound feel and pull of the late 1960s early 70's it is a true time machine but with modern updates and decent gas mileage.

i have the solo cat-back exhaust with the sxt , it changes the car sound completely , sure not a v8 but now its sounds like beastly v6

my sxt sounds more like the R/T with my resonator delete and put in master flow resonator purrr's ruff like an RT now.

I have very faint memories of my fathers nova but I never quite forgot the rumble of the exhaust. I purchased a v6 because I needed to have something that would link me to those times. I just sold my v6 to a relative and got a hold of a 18 v8. No joke, the nostalgia has had me driving it around like a child. The rumble. I love it. No knock on the v6 but I have done enough research to know that there are mods available to make your v6 sound like a savage. Its great to see the era of muscle car make a comeback. The streets are alive again.
I owned 2 Mustangs a V-6's a 2006 which had a great leather interior and the 2013 which had the base interior but a much stronger 305 V-6. I also once owned a 1976 Pontiac Firebird 400 V-8 with only 180HP factory HP none of these cars while nice takes me back to my 1969/70 senior year in high school where my friends had 383 Road Runners, Nova SS 440 GTX's 289 Mustangs, etc. Now I own a 2019 5.7 RT Challenger which has the exact sound feel and pull of the late 1960s early 70's it is a true time machine but with modern updates and decent gas mileage.
