      all new ones will have to have back up cams by law so they went all out on the screen to a 8.4 I think on the 2020 line of all Auto's for sale in the US.

      @@dennmartin6736, I’m looking around here in 2024. The SXT, GT and R/T standard models have 7” screens, the SCT Plus, GT Plus and R/T Plus models have an 8” screen.
      Everything above the R/T (T/A, Hellcat, etc) have 8” screens as standard.

    Interesting! I own a 2011 with the Pentastar V6 and my exhaust sounds a bit more bass than that at idle.
    Love the car and yes, have gotten a number of nice comments over the years. Interesting enough, Challengers are considered full size cars due to their dimensions as opposed to the Camaro and Mustang.
    It’s literally the last full size two door rear wheel drive car you can get today in the US.

    I have very faint memories of my fathers nova but I never quite forgot the rumble of the exhaust. I purchased a v6 because I needed to have something that would link me to those times. I just sold my v6 to a relative and got a hold of a 18 v8. No joke, the nostalgia has had me driving it around like a child. The rumble. I love it. No knock on the v6 but I have done enough research to know that there are mods available to make your v6 sound like a savage. It great to see this era of muscle car make a comeback. The streets are alive again.

      Yeah even the pipes on the older SRT8 isn't great, and was one of the first mods that I did on my Challenger when I got it. They are not only restrictive, they are also heavy and is the last thing that they need. Those huge suitcase style resonators are ridiculous, and the new system thankfully deletes them. Basically consists of 3" with open chamber racing bullets and is almost like straight piping, but better because of the increased diameter and flow so much better than stock

  • @tenhundredkills

    Great comparison, but I have just one minor critique:

    Attention: On the R/T shaker yea u get the cold air intake however it does nothing to get more Hp. Also the 5.7 V8 Hemi comes standard on the R/T, you dont need a shaker to get that, it comes stock as long as its a R/T

    • @Sak-zo1ui
      @Sak-zo1ui 4 года назад

      DOCUDRAMA the shaker is a kit which improves cold air density in the intake. It does improve horsepower by a little not by much. It works better on carbureted setups. The shaker is a package of the r/t

    Yeah unfortunately because they don't use lumpy cams in them these days, the Shakers don't shake much and barely move. So they are void of any shimmy action going on, and would be cool to see one if somebody added a cam to their car. The exhaust on the new ones are so much nicer than the older set up, and replaced the ones on my Challenger from the cat's back with SLP loudmouth 1s. Which basically consists of 2 super loud open chamber racing bullets on 3" pipe and allows for reso delete, so it's basically like straight piping them except better because of the increased diameter. They sound amazing and are menacing as hell

    Save the gas and just put supercharger in your V6, you'll add another 150-175 HP. Just get a sxt or a gt and put a supercharger in it and you'll spend less than just buying a basic RT. You'll have lower insurance, fuel costs than an RT plus you have AWD and more HP in comparison. Of course you could also put a supercharger in an RT but at that point you might as well just buy a hellcat.

      I have the 2017 SXT PLUS as well, fucking love the car, it's my daily driver, my commute to work is about 10 miles to, and 10 miles back, my MPG is pretty bad, system says it's around 15 in the city. It does eat gas quite a bit, BUT, I'd imagine it eats the least compared to the other higher (V8) models

      I have a 2018 sxt plus. When I'm not in sport mode on a 150 mile trip I get over 30 mpg. No shit, see 34 all the time. My old Saturn ion got that.

    • @Rayzaa101
      @Rayzaa101 4 года назад +3

      No matter what you do to a SXT, they dont sound like a V8. The sound is just too high pitched and sound more like an import. A new exhaust will help but they still dont have that rumble of the V8's, ...especially with the V8 active exhaust system. But they get the better mileage and look great. But if trying to make them sound like a V8 is the goal, save your money or just get a V8

      @@Sak-zo1ui I know but this one's not sounding like a six pack, and add a turbo and the RT would be left in the dust off the line too. Ripp just got them going in Las Vegas NV so I may make that a must.

      The V-6 is a good Starter Car and still faster than 80% of the other cars on the road be happy my 1st car was a used VW beetle with 40 HP wait until you move out and make your own money than buy a v-8.

Its great to see the era of muscle car make a comeback. The streets are alive again.

      I owned 2 Mustangs a V-6's a 2006 which had a great leather interior and the 2013 which had the base interior but a much stronger 305 V-6. I also once owned a 1976 Pontiac Firebird 400 V-8 with only 180HP factory HP none of these cars while nice takes me back to my 1969/70 senior year in high school where my friends had 383 Road Runners, Nova SS 440 GTX's 289 Mustangs, etc. Now I own a 2019 5.7 RT Challenger which has the exact sound feel and pull of the late 1960s early 70's it is a true time machine but with modern updates and decent gas mileage.
