You've got to hand it to the queen. She's probably seen this all a hundred times, but she's giving the parade her full attention, like it's the most important thing she's seen.
From as far back that I can remember, my parents took us five kids to the Highland games on Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina. I have always had a longing in my heart for the sound of the bagpipes playing and longed to “go back” to Scotland. I always felt that I had lived there before, since childhood. I’m 74 years old now and still feel that same longing.
You know I always tear up when I watch stuff like this. The pipes mean so much to me I'm American but my family history derives directly from Ireland and Scotland. I'm a member of the Fraser clan and I'm just Soo proud of my heritage
The lady humming at 4:49 makes me really happy. She’s probably heard the song so many times and still loves it like she just heard it for the first time and it’s stuck on her mind. You have to listen closely to hear her humming.
lovely that brightened my day up lovely to see all the different clan coloured kilts and uniforms and to hear the wonderful pipes thanks for putting this film on
I am American but the pipes still make me happy. My Grandfather was From Scotland, near Glasgow. Our family name is Ross. I love Scotland as though I was born there. We also have a daughter with bright red hair..... wonderful pipes and drums.
Mary Lingo hi Mary greetings from Scotland may I point you in the direction of a documentary on you tube called the cheviot the stag and the black black oil early version and see what you're ancestors clan Ross and many others had to endure at the hands of these aristocrats shocking
Keith Donald Thanks, I will do that. Always looking for authentic history of Scotland . Yeah the royal family looks a little worn out these days, don’t they⁉️. 🌸❣️
Mary Lingo ((Ross): Get DNA tests done to find out exactly where you fit in. I’m 77, not Scotch, but love the nectar of Scotland. My last name is “Greene”, so I do have a bit of English in me bones.
Well pipes and drums are the ultimate in marching bands. Not really possible to compete with this. Marched for years in bands and this is the ultimate.
My GGrandfather was born here, came out to South Africa and served in the Boer War, met my GGranmother, had two Children. Then just before his Death returned here, died and is Buried in the Braemar Graveyard. ( 1870 - 1935 )
So glad to see Her Majesty here to day with Prince Charles and the Princess Royal, Princess Ann. This part of Scotland is dear to their hearts. I hope the Queen has many more yours at this wonderful gathering.
God save the Royal Family! Da kann man als Deutscher nur wehleidig zuschauen! Seit Willhelm 2 geht es bei uns nur noch steil bergab! 😭 Bleibt eurer Tradition treu! Greetings from Germany!
Ahh, stirs the Scottish ancestry I have along with Irish ancestry in this mostly Brit-American whose Scottish forebears came from Aberdeen, left Ulster, Northern Ireland and landed in Portsmouth, NH in 1721! Fought in the Revolutionary War, one wounded at the Battle of Bunker Hill! McGaffey is the surname on my maternal side. My late beloved mother and grandmother would have loved this as well! Thank you, love those kilts and the sound of bagpipes!♥♥
I love this band and when I listen while performing, I went back 4 and half decade, lot of My childhood memories Associated with this band, I sloute British era who alive this tradition...
Wow. The reason I've been searching out this song Scotland the Brave is I happened by our local church and there was band practice with a pipe and drum band. Hadn't heard it in a long time. It was so great I had to stop what I was doing and listen. Something about the drums, just perfect here - simple and not too much. Mesmerizing. :)
A glorious people, a people deserving of respect, I saw an organized, sophisticated people, I saw a nation walking with balanced steps, I love this ancient nation, my wish is to give me the nationality of their country, it is just a dream, the dream of a poor and simple person, who lives in this world, in a poor house . Thank you, I had a great time.
She just keeps going and going and going! Amazing! Chuck has the good sense to keep his knees together, unlike the gentleman in the second row to Anne's left, who noticeably had to adjust his sporran....
We were there last week to see this. I am from south U.S. (Florida) with some distant Scottish ancestry (Davidson). I automatically felt at home. I met some people having the the demeanor and humor which reminded me of my grand father. Not sure how to describe it in a short sentence. I will definitely go back to Scotland (Lord willing). I loved it. I was there with my wife and two adult sons. I am not up to speed with the politics but have studied the history somewhat. I have a theory that the spirit of the southern rebels came from the highlanders (Jacobites) after they were exported to the southern U.S. Not that we want to re explore that disaster.
All places become blessed when Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth visits it.. In the eighth minute, When the bagpipes's musicians begin to pass, and then the big drums come after them, the sound of Scottish music becomes something magical and amazing, as if the sound of bagpipes is the sound of the whining of human With the processof inhalation and exhalation, Then you feel as if you are drowning in the organs of the human body to pass through the lung to the heartbeat that is embodied here by the beats of drums ...This Scottish folk art, as if inspired by the memory of the fetus in the womb of his mother, he hears her exhalation and her inhalation, and also when she speaks, and then knocks her heartbeat ... Again I swear that this wonderful Scottish art is notmade by human, But by who created human "God".😍😍😍🙏
The bagpipes was the most feared weapon in the British army up to and including the falklands war and being half Scottish and Irish myself I understand why
My mammaw was suppose to Mary into wealth her dad was a general, that's where my ancestors came from. Her ancestors came to U. S. by ship.I was born with the heart of Scotland, my son looks just like a lepracon.THIS IS BEAUTIFUL
Смотрю выступление коллективов волынщиков в Великобритании.Королёва на параде.Приходит понимание что Соединенное Королевство нерушимо на века.Да здравствует Королёва!
I love bag pipes playing. They are the best. My last reginates in Scotland and Ireland. I love my last name. And I love my heritage and where my name came from.
greifinn24:-- It's not only the Scots who wear the kilt. I am from Cornwall ( the Celtic region of South West England) and often wear the green, yellow and black plaid. "The Cornish Kilt".
@@bjorgannasanders9922 the 'cornish kilt' is just a kilt with a made up 'cornish tartan' there is nothing cornish about it , they make up tartans for anyone nowadays just to sell kilts .
From the U.S. I love the Pipes and Drums and have a question. It's my understanding that the red Hackle was or is to be worn by members of the Black Watch only. Is that still true?
Aye, it was originally thought to be as a reward for their achievement at the Battle of Geldermaisen in 1794, but there is evidence to show that the Red Hackle was worn by the Regiment during the American War of Independence 1775-1783.
Whilst the Black Watch are famous for the red hackle in military uniform, they do not have exclusively. Anyone can wear a red hackle in civilian uniform and plenty of bands do across the world and scotland.
As a Scot, I have always wondered what would happen if someone fell and started a domino effect in a group of pipers... I'm sure I would regret it, but I still wonder. Pipes are amazing if played well, but otherwise help my ears
English/Irish here but wish l had some Scottish blood as well. Proud to be British but not PC to say that these days (stuff multiculturism!) Good health to Her Majesty.
If you want to identify yourself as British, then by all means that is your choice, but not everyone does or has to. I am a British citizen on paper, but I identify myself as Scottish born of Irish great-grandparentage. I have nothing against the English, Welsh or Irish but I believe we have the right to our own identities
As a Welsh/Engllishman I salute that sentiment. Well I have a tiny bit of Maxwell in me, but only 1/16. We are all BRITISH. And it makes sense to say that, even the English are mostly ancient Celtic Briton by ancestry (over 70%).. Even the English should be regarded as a country of long lost Celtic Britons. If only the Romans got to tell the Irish that they would be considered British too, we wouldn't have such an issue with that terminology.
Good Morning Majesty KING CHARLES III ❤️ London ❤️ huge support, Long live long live, lot of kisses, all the congratulations 👏👏👏👍👏👏👏, wonderful warm welcome, sublime ceremony, you are resplendent, beautiful Parades, whishing you a great day, god Bless, 👑🙏🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bless the heart of the Queen. I always marveled at how she never needed a hand in and out of any vehicle. Amazing always!
You've got to hand it to the queen. She's probably seen this all a hundred times, but she's giving the parade her full attention, like it's the most important thing she's seen.
The Queen is by far the most powerful and respected person on this earth....Nobody messes with the queen. 100% respect.

It’s literally 10 minutes of her day, hardly a big effort. Fuck her. Republican Scotland.
Here in North Carolina they hold the Highland Games at McCrae Meadows. A considerable number of Scottish people settled here.

As someone who plays the bagpipes. I appreciate the sound of the pipes in mass bands. Especialy in tunes like scotland the brave and wings.
The rattle of the snare drum the sound of the pipes, gets me every time!
I agree, the pipes are truly awesome but let's not forget the beautiful drum too.

Great!
I love bag pipes playing. They are the best. My last reginates in Scotland and Ireland. I love my last name. And I love my heritage and where my name came from.
And if y' didnt..You'd be a Sassenach!
Recently came to find my last name is of Scottish origin. Family were early colonists in Virginia, originating from the Dumfries area.
🏴 Scotland is Europe
love the pipes and have always been jealous of the Scots right to wear the Kilt.

If you'd like to wear a kilt; wear one. You can say you're related to me. I'll back you up.
E bonito de se ver a realeza britânica. Parabéns ao povo inglês.
