Hello - I'am not scottish too (I'am Polish) but I listeng this wonderful music my heart makes me sure that, Scottish pepople are brave, proud, loving their native land and always ready to protect and fighe for it. Graeat respect for Scots. All teh best.
As a Gordie I first heard Flower of Scotland sung by The Corries when they performed live City Hall Newcastle 1975 . Their music was and still is absolutely Fantastic. When I hear the Bagpipes it stirs the blood , your heart beats loud and proud. I'm getting on now but I would love to go to the Edinburgh Tattoo to feel the Spirit of Scotland flowing through me. An old soldier Thank you.
I have been twice to the Tattoo, second time I went in August and sat at the end of a row and froze my nuts off. It sticks in my mind as it was the last time my father went before he died, every Sunday was pipes and drums when I was growing up as he loved the pipes. At the time (5 years old) I hated them, now though, I play all video's of pipes and drums as it brings back memories of those Sunday's and, dare I say, happy times.
My first memory is of the Corries at the City Hall as well. Stood proud in their orange shirts and leather waistcoats. I was a young child but the music has stayed with me
My mother's side of the family are Scottish, I use to spend summer vacation there every chance we could go. Moved over home when my father retired from USAF. finished school there, attended bussiness college and had my first job at Caterpillar in Uddingston. Fell in love with the country, history and people, music, history and miss it all so much
I'm from Dundee, I used to visit my sister and brother in law during the school holidays in Uddingston back in the 60s , Tannoch hill as I remember , used to get that confused with Tannoch Brae on Dr Findlays Casebook haha , he also worked at Caterpillar, they moved around with Caterpillar , Geneva, Sweden , Peoria and Amsterdam then retired and moved back to Auchterarder in Scotland ... Small World .. Cheers from Dundee.....
My dad was Scots Guard. Black Watch was in the same transit camp. That was a fight to behold evidently. Many years later, they did it again. Guess what?😂😂

Being a taffy, I understand the passion this song means to the wonderfull people of Scotland. Possibly one of the nicest national anthems in the. World.
Though I love my national anthem dearly as I do my nation of Scotland, it is well and truly matched by the Welsh national anthem for passion. Perhaps it is our common Celtic bond and shared love of our nations that expresses itself in the wonderful music and verse we decide to identify ourselves with.
Always so emotional but one of my favorite anthems and the Scottish pipe bands my favorite at all times. I'm a South African but a true fan of Scottish music always. Just love the men in their kilts. 🙏🙏
My dad was a proud Scot but I'm English. I get goosebumps every time I hear the Scottish pipes and feel an unknown pride to my ancestry. My clan is Elliot, and apparently we escorted Robert the Bruce down from the Highlands to Carlisle to fight the English. Something to be proud of.

I read so many disagreeable comments about what constitutes a true claim to Scottish heritage, With all due respect to native Scots of today,(Who may with every right disagree with my humble opinion) , if you can hear the sound of the pipes, and not be moved to your very soul, even if your heritage, like mine, was passed on by my father, then we can safely assume a lack of Scots pride, and you have your own answer. My fathers funeral was conducted with due dignity shown by all, R.S.A., myself, etc. Amazing Grace, on pipes, as per his last wishes, however, reduced all to tears.
