I agree with Christine… You are an excellent teacher…I don’t use magic loop, but this crown will be easy with my small circus.. I use 16, 12, and 9 inch circulars for my hats..
Hello knitting Lady. I’ve been knitting over 65 years,,,and I love watching others knit. Through U Tube I’ve learned new tricks. I must say, your a wonderful patient Teacher, and would like to say Thank you from all the knitters watching you. It’s a pleasure to watching you teach. You now have a new subscriber. God Bless. ❤️ 🇨🇦
I am so happy i found your viedos there easy to follow and you are an amazing teacher i learn so much .ty from the bottom of my heart for teaching all these great things and teaching me .i am a newbie at knitting ..and i am hooked ...can you make a video on how to knit socks..YOU ARE AMAZING AND YOU ROCK THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO
You knit continental combined, like I do! So much easier, don’t see it often on tutorial videos. Wrap purls the easy way, then knit them through the back so they aren’t twisted.
Hi! I love this hat and im currently working on one with the help of this video, so thank you this has been super helpful! I was hoping you could tell me where you got the knitting needles in this video?? Thank you :)
Hi Thank you so much for sharing your video since I found I have finished my 4th hat for my grandkids If I use different yarn like no 3 do I need to cast more stitches then 76 thank you
How would i cast off if i did the brim of the hat in knit pearl and do the rest in knit stitish how do i cast off at the end sori does this make sence to you. beginer kniting
Great video and a nice easy pattern to follow. I don't know if I missed something but I can't see anywhere how many stitches you cast on. Also is this pattern meant to fit any size as in baby to adult male or do you change the amount of stitches. Sorry if I missed something obvious and thank you Sara!~~~Jo
This is a really helpful video for the project I want to start, so thank you! Do you know the name of the knitting technique you are using so I can practice it myself? It looks similar to how I work in crochet and seems a lot faster than what I've been doing.
For men I would cast on 8 or 12 more stitches (multiples of 4) and knit for 70-73 rows. The decreasing would be the same as this video. I hope this helps.
Is there written instructions somewhere? I would love to be able to print it off so I can do multiple hats without having to watch the video each time. Thank you
I understand that you are doing a continental technique,. I’m wanting to try that, but am confused. When you did your first 2 rows, you put your needle through from the top of the stitch to the bottom, but after that, you put your needle from the bottom up. Why did you change? Thanks
Fits 5 year old child, teen and adult women. The blue one my son is wearing he’s 5 and I made with same number of stitches except I did 4 rows less. For adult men I’d cast on 84 stitches instead of 76 and add 4 more rows to length. I hope this helps.

I agree. I had almost given up on my project and now I can feel confident about knitting hats!! Thank you so much.
You are so welcome!

Hello Sarah, great tutorial. What length circular needle are you using here please? ❤
If I remember correctly I think they were 32 in long
How many stitches would you CO for a newborn hat?
I was wondering this as well I’m making my new baby a hat : (
Hi! I love this hat and im currently working on one with the help of this video, so thank you this has been super helpful! I was hoping you could tell me where you got the knitting needles in this video?? Thank you :)
You're so welcome!
Hello, thank you for the tutorial. Could you tell me how I would bind off if I chose to knit after the ribbing? Thank you in advance.
You can bind of anyway you want really. There’s no right or wrong way.
Thank you so much for answering, going to give it a try.@@knittingforbaby
Ok you said for me to do 70 stitish woul i do the same decrising like you with cnk wool
if I make it just all knit or purl after ribbing, so when it come to decrease, should I do same you did ?
Yes an no. It’s going to be garters stitch if you do that so depending on your tension it might be smaller
Do we have to use the magic loop method, can we knit using 16” needles
That is just a method to knit in the round so yes you can use shorter needles or even double pointed needles.
Hi
Thank you so much for sharing your video since I found I have finished my 4th hat for my grandkids
If I use different yarn like no 3 do I need to cast more stitches then 76 thank you
Hi Sara
Can you tell me if I use number 3 yarn do I still cast on 76 stitches or more stitches hope you can help thanks
Yes you may need to add more stitches because #3 yarn is slightly thinner.
If I wanted to do this hat with #6 super bulky yard and size 13 (9mm) needles, how many stiches would you cast on?
Hello there! Thanks for your video! May I ask how many ti cast on for 9months old? I believe a Little less right?
Yes here’s for baby ruclips.net/video/BznR3Nq2PlQ/видео.html
If I want to do this beanie for 3 year old. How many stitches do I cast on please
Thanks for this. I’m curious why you knit into the back loop on the first cast on?
No reason at all. That’s how I learned. You can knit or purl however you know. I promise it will come out exactly like mine 😉
Cool 😎
Thank you. :)
Thank you very much for the easy way of knitting avery useful one
You’re very welcome 😊
If I wanted to make this for a 2 yr old how many stitches would I cast on? Love this pattern made it for a teacher already
I want know if its new born baby and the family what will be the stitches for a year old baby
How would i cast off if i did the brim of the hat in knit pearl and do the rest in knit stitish how do i cast off at the end sori does this make sence to you. beginer kniting
Hi. So you just have knit stitches right? If you do then just knit 2 together for 2 rows then close the hat.
Thank you
Great video and a nice easy pattern to follow. I don't know if I missed something but I can't see anywhere how many stitches you cast on. Also is this pattern meant to fit any size as in baby to adult male or do you change the amount of stitches. Sorry if I missed something obvious and thank you Sara!~~~Jo
76
I successfully completed the newborn hat. Can I use straight needles to knit this one?
Yes you can. You will just need to seam it at the end.
Am using 7,8mm needles. How many stiches do I need to make a hat.
What is the blue speckly yarn? Would love to get some!
It’s called I love this yarn tweed from hobby lobby in the color navy tweed.
@@knittingforbaby bless you 🙏
Thank you

Thank you 😊 it’s called magic loop technique.
Thanks
If I m doing for an adult with a measurement of 23 inches, how many stitches do I cast on n when do I start reducing?
For men I would cast on 8 or 12 more stitches (multiples of 4) and knit for 70-73 rows. The decreasing would be the same as this video. I hope this helps.
@@knittingforbaby thank you.got confused as in the net, they were saying for adults do 80
Stitches and some said you need about 106 😫
It all depends on the gauge and needle size. Based on my gauge with this hat that’s what I would do. Plus this is a very stretchy ribbing.
@@knittingforbaby thank you
How did you started knitting? I would like to learn how to knit.
I learned to crochet first then decided to learn to knit. It took a little practice but im getting the hang of it now😉 start slow and don’t give up.
Would this work for a baby or toddler as well?
Yes. I’d make less rows so it’s not too long. I’d also go down a full needle size too for toddlers
I can only get chunky wool is this ok for your patern
If you use the 5mm needles with chunky yarn I would cast on 70 stitches instead of 76. Good luck 👍
Is there written instructions somewhere? I would love to be able to print it off so I can do multiple hats without having to watch the video each time. Thank you
Here’s the link to my Etsy shop where you can find written patterns crochetforbabystore.etsy.com
cast on 76 stitches
I understand that you are doing a continental technique,. I’m wanting to try that, but am confused. When you did your first 2 rows, you put your needle through from the top of the stitch to the bottom, but after that, you put your needle from the bottom up. Why did you change? Thanks
I don’t see what you are referring to but just knit 2 purl 2 however way you know how to and I promise it will look the same 😉👍
How many cast ones for a baby please?
Can I knit it with cotton yarn?
No I don’t recommend cotton because you want it to be stretchy and cotton isn’t as stretchy as acrylic or wool.
@@knittingforbaby I see! I bought too many cotton yarns and I'm stuck with it. I don't know what to do!
Oh ok. You can make a baby sweater with it. Knit or crochet both work great.
@Knitting for Baby How many stitches would you use if you only had 6mm needles?
I’m so sorry but I don’t know how many.
Please how many rows for 6 year old child.
How many cast stitches for kids 4-6 yrs old?
Just make it in the same way. My son who’s 5 is wearing the blue hat in the picture. I just did 4 less rows for him.
Ok thank you
Are you knitting in the back of the stitch? That’s what it looks like to me
Yes. I’m a combination continental knitter
Why do you purl through the back loop? That isn’t a normal purl stitch is it?
How many stitches for a 6 year old child?
Just make it the same and may make 4-6 less rows. This is ribbing and accommodates well in smaller heads too.
how many stitches to CO for a newborn baby?
What size is this
Fits 5 year old child, teen and adult women. The blue one my son is wearing he’s 5 and I made with same number of stitches except I did 4 rows less. For adult men I’d cast on 84 stitches instead of 76 and add 4 more rows to length. I hope this helps.
@@knittingforbaby this info has been really useful
Hello! Do you have a breakdown on # cast on for each of the different sizes? :) Thanks!
I think some where within the comments I do lol as I have replied to different size requests.
howto you stop laddering, ihave lost count how many times have tried magic method
Just use short needles like 16in circulars.
Please does this fit a 6 year old girl?
Yes. My son in the picture is almost 6 and fits perfect with lots of room.
Thank you so much for your quick reply. So I will knit 63 rows.Wonderful.
Do I reduce in the same way as I am doing it on straight needles. Thanks
Yes but only decrease every other row.
