Try double pointed needles. I and some others like them better than circular needles. That cable is always pulling on my needies. The double pointed needles are a bit awkward and the suddenly they do not feel awkard. But you can do so much knitting with 2 straight needles and seaming the fabric together.
@@eastlynburkholder3559 Thanks Eastlyn. The reason I like this pattern is because I prop my right needle in my lap. @@LifterwiII yes my dad is left handed. He prefers to crochet and tat rather than knit. I throw the read in an inefficient way but work from the elbow or from the wrist down. Finally finished this a few days ago. I'm kinda sad I failed the seaming part but I'm so proud of myself. Thank you for this well-explained tutorial =)
Casting on was hard for me and seaming was hard for me. My problem was seaming too tightly. @@eastlynburkholder3559 that’s reassuring. I’m terrible at sewing up. It spoils it like crazy and yes I cry. In fact I cry many tears. I think it’s because I dread it and I know I’m going to fail, so maybe I should have to hit it head on with with positivity.
This actually made knitting so much easier to comprehend. I always thought it was so hard. Thank you!!
I thought that I was never going to find a tutorial for the flat knitting sticks. Thank you for the tutorial! This will be really helpful since I only have 1 yarn, I am a beginner.
Is it going well?:)
I finished this hat today!!! I got bored of my yarn color halfway through and got a wild hair and decided to colorblock two new colors in intarsia!!! This was a fantastic tutorial and helped me confidence a lot as a semi-new knitter trying to learn how to read knitting patterns. Thank you!!!
Thank you, this was/is very easy to follow. I am nearly done my first beanie but Im so happy with my work but I wanted to comment before I forgot.
the tutorial is so easy to fallow even in the first try the hat turned out REALLY amazing
Thank you so much for such a fantastic tutorial. I was always put off by the sewing up but not any more as you explained it so well. Love the pattern too. x
❤Thanks for teaching me how to make ahat . Very easy ways . May all beings be Health and Happy 💐❤️👍
anyone else know how to crochet successfully and tried to knit and now feels like crying with sore hands and a feeling of deep hopelessness? or just me
If you know how to crochet, then it might be easier for you to learn knitting continental style....there are many tutorials on RUclips
In the video she is knitting english style
lol i find crochet way more difficult 😅
The way she casts is uneedly complicated
@@LalappbearI agree. This was not the way I learned to cast on. I’m assuming it doesn’t matter which way you do it though.
@@izzywnicole4658 The long tail cast on is stretchy and a common cast on for beanies, and etc.
Use what you like, just know that the long tail is no😢as complicated as it first seems.
Thanks for sharing this thorough video. I learned a little bit how to knit when I was a kid, but I really want to get back into it and learn more - this will definitely be a huge help and hopefully quell the knitting anxiety I've been having about starting new projects!
getting back to knitting after a while to try and make a kippah, and i am planning to try to use the decreasing part of this pattern for it! thank you so much, this is one of the best, most in-depth knitting tutorials i have ever watched. you are great at this :)
I crochet but it's my first time to learn and try knitting and this helps me a lot. Very clear and smooth tutorial. I subscribed to learn more. Thank you for this.
Same girl
This is really helpful.. THanks for writing the numbers also in metric system 👌👌
OMG Thank you so much for this video! I have watched this like a thousand times. Each time I'm at a new section I come back to the video and follow along that section. My beanie is still a little bit messier than your's and your stitching is so tidy. I definitely messed up in some of the reduction parts hahaha. But basically you taught me how to knit a beanie :) I'm making a second one now so here I am back again watching your videos many more times haha. xx
Such an excellent tutorial, I have now knitted my first hat ❤ thank you x
Going to start this as my first knit project when I get home! 💜
I'm so glad I learned how to make a slip knot 70 years ago. You make it so difficult that I would have never even started
Thank you so much! I really needed this to make a hat for my grandmother.
Thank you for such a great video and written instructions!! I've knitted one for a friend but I'm going to make myself one now too!💖
Amazinggggggg I wanted to knit a muffler for winter but there were lots of mistake in it so I decided to go for a hat and I watched some other tutorials but those were very hard and i wasted so much yarn then I found ur vid and I completed it thank you so muchhhh❤️❤️
Glad I could help!
I just wanted to say thank you for the tutorial 😊 I already made two beanies and I couldn't be more happier! I gave one to my dad and I also have one.
You are a gift. Thank you so much for putting in the time to create this wonderful tutorial.
Side note, I'm trying to figure out how to do this with two colours, knitting one and purling the other
Thank you so much!! just finished my first hat!!! brilliant explenation, appriciate it!
Thank you so much for your help! This is the first wearable thing I've knitted and the first pattern I've followed so thank you for making the instructions so clear :)

ok, it turned out great but i used needles too thick so when i put the hat on, it's really see through and it doesn't look knitted. currently working on another one!!
Just finished my hat and I love it! Thank you

Just finished my hat! Your instructions were very easy to understand!! I knit but I've never knit a hat before
Extremely excited to make this tomorrow
Thanks to you tube for suggesting this vedio to me
I learnt something new today my friend. TFS. Stay connected 😊
Excellent tutorial. This is my go to beanie pattern, thank you.
Thank you so much for this video!! Your instructions were so clear and patient. I just finished the hat and love it :)
Me who just decided to start learning to knit today: Yes that looks easy! I’ll knit my whole family a hat scarf and gloves set!
*drops stitches unknowingly doing a tiny square for practice* lol😢
I have learn by your toturial because you have a clear instructions but what makes me confuse is half of my project didn't go well. And I just figure it out that it has to be even on the cast-on. For the beginner here who is just passing by how to knit like that kind of stitch use even number in cast-on. And to you ☺️ thanks alot now I know how to knit 💗
Thanks so much, starting out with this. Really appreciate all the time stamps, and the decreases at the top make a lovely shape.
You are so welcome!
hi hi, was wondering what differences are there if I make a bigger hat? so casted on 122 stitches to increase the size but am not sure how to do the decreases now
Thank you so much. I really love it. It's so beautiful
This video is amazing, I havent knitted in a few years but wanted to knit a hat for my partner. This video and the pattern were easy to follow and the perfect size 👌🏽
Very detailed instructions. Thank you
I made this beanie and it came out great even though I'm a beginner! Thank you so much for the tutorial and the clear instructions!!
is she using a 5mm or a 3.75mm?
@@ivan.lov3r 3.75mm according to the materials she listed at the beginning
Love love your videos! !
You are a great teacher thank you.
Can't wait to get started xx
Excellent Tutorial! Thank you for posting!

SubhanAllah sister,you teach very well
Great tutorial, easy to follow and I just love the hat, it’s perfect. Thank you 😊
