    This is a great and simple pattern (as long as you concentrate 🤣). My hat came out very well, thanks to your well explained tutorial and demonstration. I also like how doing a knit slip at the start makes the edges straight and therefore tidy.

    Im 8 months pregnant and new at knitting and I had to take this apart 9 times !! And do the 54 stitches step every good dam time 😅 at last I had a meltdown over it.. hormones and pregnancy brain is not what you want while trying to do this 😅

    took me a while but clear and easy to follow once you get the hang of it, turns out my 10 day old nephew is already about to outgrow the 0-3 months though! 😂guess I had better get started on the 3-6 month one!

    I want to thank you so so much for this tutorial. It is the best I have seen so far. In regards of the simplicity of instructions. I really needed that. I can honestly say I have never had such a smart beginning to what i have knitted so far. The casting on with both needles is absolutely genius. And i will continue to use this.       Yea I’m 8 months right now and I’m flipping out getting upset I just started knitting and her cast on she goes WAY to fast & the pearling like wtf is that??? Doesn’t even explain it or go nice and slow :( I’m officially giving up on making a hat.

      7 months pregnant and I just finished it after 2 weeks of frustrations it got a lot easier, take a deep breath and try it again with a clear head and seek other videos such as “how to purl for beginners”, if you look at her stitching, purling is just instead of going over the loop (knit), you go under it from left to right and bring it back around through the stitch.

      And i knitted (and crocheted as well) the most projects in my current pregnancy, 5 in 3 months to be precise, which include pullovers for my kids, a dress for my daughter, baby cardigan, baby blanket (i regret starting late 😔) few more to go 😄. Will be making my scarf once the yarn arrive.

    She is such a great demonstrator and teacher when it comes to projects like this. She has helped me knit my first great-great-nephew a hat and next, it will be booties and a blanket that I hope will be kept as a memento from his great-great-aunt Tina and carried on down through the family.

      I just divided total in half then that half in half. Most of the times this works for me so when it doesn’t you just have to unravel and try with less stitches for the sleeves

    Hi! What a lovely pattern! You say that the 0-3 month should be 18 centimetres long when you begin to reduce the stitches. Can I ask how wide the patch should be at this point? I am using a different yarn and knowing the desired width would really help! Thank youuuuuuu🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

    I have finished the newborn size for our first baby that we're expecting in December, and I am so happy with how it turned out! I have tried many different methods for knitting beanies, and found this one to be so simple! I am curious- would this technique work for an adult hat? I am guessing you would cast on more stitches, but I am nervous about the decrease rows. Would I use the same technique?

      Probably 82 for 1-2 and 90 for 2-3 with 5mm needles with #4 or Aran weight yarn

    Can you give instructions for using Dk or baby weight yarn? This pattern is great because it can fit all different size babies with the stretch of the ribbing.

      I think that with dk yarn you will just need to add 4-8 more stitches if you’re using the same needle size.

    way too fast! complete beginner here - I simply couldn't follow how you do the knit and purl stitches. great pattern, but pace isn't for a beginner!

      You need to watch a video on how to knit and purl. For me also it was difficult in the beginning. I had to undo everything and do it again. When I understood how it works, it was much much easier. I’m still in the process of making the hat for my baby due in December.

    Any advice for someone who can’t control their first finger to stay straight and hold tension? I stitch with my right middle finger and I can’t force myself to do it any other way and it’s really a struggle. I keep getting the knits wrapped around.

    You mention at 19:42 in video "this is the right side of the hat". How do you know which is the right side and wrong side of a ribb hat?

      For me, even number of rows are on the wrong side and odd number of rows are on the right side.

    I just finished making the 6-12 month hat for my nephew for Christmas. It’s a very easy pattern provided the knitting needles stay wherever they are supposed to be and not falling out of the stitches as you go along.
