I LOVE this tutorial! Hat turned out great! Can you do a tutorial on how to knit socks? You explain things so clearly. That's the only thing I'm having a hard time with and existing tutorials seem hard to follow. Thanks! 😊
This is going to sound so weird lol….but can I see how you hold your needles? I get super discombobulated and lost with my yarn and my needles. But I feel like your way would make sense to me 😅 Sorry if this is an odd request and you don’t want to do it lol. I totally get it!
I suppose I should have asked before starting but I just followed all you steps. You say 11” for adult but the 70 cast on is looking small, is the adult size more cast ons?
Woww I found the hat to knit. I've been looking for ribbed hat to knit. Thanks for the detailed tutorial. May we know the guage though? GOD BLESS. LOVE IT!
The wrong side is where the first stich you made is on the left side or end of your needle, there is the little tail of yarn hanging as well on the bottom of your work. The right side is when you have your first stitch on the right side, on the beginning of your needle. That’s where your ‘little tail’ of yarn are hanging too. I hope this will help you.
After completing the second row…am I to continue knit 2 /p2 until the hat reaches 10 inches or am I knitting two until I reach 10 inches before I crown the hat off?

Hello. I have a family member with Alzheimer’s who had this type of pattern in printed form. She has used it so much it’s haggard. Is there a way to get these instructions in traditional printed instructions?
It's in the description box, yes it is also 70. Just use size 8 needles instead of 7. That said, if it doesn't match you, you could always go for thicker yarn and a size up on the needles
Nasi.... Choose your Yarn, and Associated Needle Sizes (See Yarn Band Label Info advise.) Knit a little Swatch in desired Stitches, again as per Band info. Then measure your Kids Head (remember to add in a few extra Stitches for Stretch.) Then calculate the number of Stitches in say 1" (Inch.) Then Cast on multiples of said Stitches... to get Head Sizing right. Eg, say your Yarn is x10 Stitches per Inch, and your Child's Head (around the Ear to Ear Measurement is x10 Inches... You need to Cast on x100 Stitches ! This is only a Guestimate* ! * Subject to Child's age, Yarn, and Needle Size ! 😉 You do Rib by knitting (Knit, Purl, Knit, Purl. Or Two Knit, Two Purl etc. Your choice. Then Knit (when Facing you) or Purple (when Facing away) This is for Straight Needles. If your using Circular : It's Knit all the way around, repeatedly so hope this helps. 😎 Or "Do an Internet Search" on Sizing a Child's Hat. Good luck.
I thought you were meant to knit the knits and purl the purls, mine ended up doing the opposite with 70 stitches. It messed up my number of stitches. What am I doing wrong lol
You do still knit the knits and purl the purls. It's just with 2 by 2 rib, in this case where there is an odd number of stitch *pairs,* (70 stitches equals 35 *pairs*) you have to do each row opposite of the row you just did to still be able to achieve the rib design. Odd/even affects how it lines up...although there are an even number of overall stitches, it's an odd number of pairs (since for 2 by 2 rib, you're going 2 by 2, so it affects the way the design divides). I know, becauee I was confused by this too...I'm used to doing 1 by 1 rib.
a row means when all of the stitches on your left needle go to your right one so the left is empty and the right has the whole project and then you flip it over
@@GinaMichele Sorry, should the cast on tail be at the top or the bottom of the needle when you complete the last row of the 11"? I'm rusty on knitting

How many cast on stitches or rows would you suggest for a newborn hat? (0-3)
Very nice explanations thank you very much
Well done 👍👍👍
How do you know what side is the wrong side?
What size needles do I use For this hat, thanks
The wrong side is where the first stich you made is on the left side or end of your needle, there is the little tail of yarn hanging as well on the bottom of your work. The right side is when you have your first stitch on the right side, on the beginning of your needle. That’s where your ‘little tail’ of yarn are hanging too. I hope this will help you.
whenever i get confused on this i just look it up wrong side vs right side in knitting and you good.

Do you use chunky or double knit

How do you attach the pompom? Just add a bunch of stitches to the hat?
Hi! What size needle did you use?
Hi what size needles and what wool please
Can anyone pls help me with the stitch amount for the woman's size.... can't also be 70 stitches?
Did you see the cap from right side or wrong side? Please reply soon
Welp looks like that didn't happen
Probably the right side that would make the most sense
How many rows do you do please
what if you don’t attach a pompom? how do you finish it?
For row seven I have 35 stitches from row 6 so how do I do row seven I knit 2 together and get left with an extra stitch
Yeah i dont know if i just knit it or knit it with the other two
My hat's finished. I still don't know which side is the 'wrong' side 😆 I suppose I can wear it inside out.
Nothing like as neat as this either 😆
What size needles and wool
I'm using 5mm (8) for size 4 yarn
How many stitches we need to cast for women on if we have needle size 3.75mm??
Hi my wool says size 6mm needles I’m in the uk. Would it still b the same amount of stitches to start?
What size of needles and what weight of yarn please
Can anyone tell me how long of a yarn I begin with the cast the 70st? I dont see the measurements anywhere.
Great description… but im GUESSING its chunky s6 needles? Lol. And is it child’s or adults? Ill find out soon enough 😂

Is this measurement for child or adult
look at the description
How did the top end of the hat become gathered. Have I missed something?
Starts at 2:09 with the shaping and at the end you thread the tail through all remaining stitches and pull and it should close up
Nice & Thanks :)
Is it bean okay for man bean
What size is this?
How is there only a cast on of 70 stitches. Presumably that is a childs size, so what amount of cast on stitches are needed for an adult hat?
You can make it what size you like , just knit until the rectangle is long enough to fit your head . The width (77st) is the height of the hat .
I thought you were meant to knit the knits and purl the purls, mine ended up doing the opposite with 70 stitches. It messed up my number of stitches. What am I doing wrong lol

Hey everyone ,does anyone have an estimated time on how long it takes to make this hat, i feel so slowww
3days later I finally knitted my first hat
The size of needle would help!
The size of your needle depends on what yarn you're using. It should say the recommended needle size on the back of the packet :)
70 is a child size, I'm looking for adult size many for adult size please
What does she mean by row?
a row means when all of the stitches on your left needle go to your right one
so the left is empty and the right has the whole project and then you flip it over
What's a wrong side row?
It’s the back of your work. The first row you knit will be the right side. The second row you work is the wrong side.

Way too fast. Need to show doing everything slower.
You can also use the "chapter" function to see the titles of the different sections which all state what you need to do
you can adjust the speed setting of the video yourself

I think Gina might be using 4mm needles?
