When using a rifled chamber adapter for a rim fire cartridge, it’s vital to consistently insert the adapter at either the 12:00 or 6:00 position for consistent results.
⚠ The nickel plated .22 Magnum ammunition made by SPEER GOLD DOT is the best survival rimfire rounds to shoot hunt small game and Deer head shots at close ranges. This ammunition hits much harder than the .17 rimfire rounds and is corrosion resistant because the brass is Nickel plated which keeps the primers from corroding !
Nice set up..im builing same ..how did ya mount the red dot were the iron sight was? i have the H&n pardner..12 gauge..3inch was gona the slip on rin rail you did but i saw this...ihave the rear factory sights ..just take it off..and ...hota tell ne ...got the x.caliber kit...short lane next...
X caliber had a set of 8 inserts two years ago that had a .223, 7.62x39 and a 308 inserts in the kit. I bought the set specifically for those three inserts, I fired only two rounds in each of them and never fired them again because the gun would lock up and was hard to break open, the primers were also bulged. So very unsafe to fire. Xcaliber refunded me the money for the inserts and I had to send them back (they were officially recalled and could never be legally re-sold). All of the other xcaliber inserts work very well, but I won't be buying any more high pressure inserts.
@@AZTLANSOLDIER13 Some shotguns could handle the higher pressures, and some COULDN'T!! Blew the primer out, or damaged the firing pin, or even blew the firing pin out! (Watch out eye!!) / I bought an 18", rifled, 12 gauge insert in .45-70 govt, but haven't tried it yet, but the cartridge only puts out 28,000 pressure (don't remember the units - psi?), which is way less that a .44 mag, but still over twice that of a 12 gauge shot shell. I know it will kick like a mule! Gonna fire it in a $119.00 new shotgun made in Turkey, so ya know it's quality! 😉 Now, to find some ammo!
Here is another question. Can they fit somewhere in the survival stock? Forearm or butt? That would increase my motivation to buy one of those as well.
***** The stock butt on a NE H&R is 8 13/16", .880" for diameter, .800" diameter for chamber and .803" on a winchester high brass doublee X. So the proof is in the pudding. These addaptors will fit in the stock butt of an H&R. Now you and I need to invent a new base plate. For fast change out.
Thanks for hangin with me ! My personally, i would go this route here in this video i linked you, but you would need to cut a section off the vent rib that runs along the barrel ruclips.net/video/o18kc3DVqqc/видео.html
thanks for the reply. I see they sell them in 12g to 22lr,22magnum 17hmr.9mm.410 gauge etc.etc. could they make them in 223? I know length and rifling will be a big factor. power wise between a 9mm.45acp and 223 would be the same??
Keep them coming (cept folks will start buying them because of the vids and drive the prices up). LOL!. I really like Short Lanes products and they are Montana boys to boot. Have to support the home state. You have a great channel.
you must shim that insert or it won't group well..... if you notice the insert does not fit tightly in the barrel..... it wiggles just a little....this is why people dont think they are accurate... shim it

That's a cool adapter. I didn't know they made these. Thanks for showing us. It's another option to through in the mix.
Cool stuff. I love the dual view of you shooting with the up close target vid.
Damn that was pretty good. Really impressive and it sounded like it was fairly windy too.
Wow great shooting...I can't remember when the first shot I took was a bullseye.
Thank your for posting these reviews, just what I needed. Subscribed!

That is bad ass i want one!
No. You will want a .22 Magnum barrel adapter for an important reason. Do you know why ?
in the red baby !! need a set of these..super fun and practical
Wicked man, great range and accuracy.
i love mine pretty good shooting .did a lil vid 1 handed at range thanks again for the tip oh free shipping awesome.

Mine didnt have iron sights, I just slipped the rain on and over the lug that holds the wood to the barrel.
Thank you!

That sounds terrifying. I guess that explains why I haven't seen them in those calibers

You were part of their testing crew - you just didn't know it! Thanks for the info.

The 8" won't fit in the Choate Survivor stock. 5" or shorter will
I have the xcaliber .45 acp insert....amazingly accurate....and subsonic☺
Does the 8 in adapter allow for a full powder burn in .17hmr? I would imagine all the pistol calibers are burning all their powder.
I havnt ran a chronograph on any of these yet.. I would assume theres a loss in velocity over a typical hunting rifle.
I really wish they would make an 8" .357 adapter.
TheRealKoolguy007 chiappa made a good set. Work well.
Can you shot the A17 round and 17hmr super mag in the adapter, thank you for helping.
makki makki not the super mag it’s a different cartridge
Not bad at 200 yards during a hurricane.
right!
.17HMR is obscenely expensive, or I might be interested in one of these.
Long time subcriber is there any way i could put a scope mount on a Hatfield single shot walmart gun

nice shooting sir. I can get my hands on a 17hmr to 12 g adapter but it is the length of a 12g shell, with no rifling would they be any good?
if it doesnt have rifling, its not gonna be consistent, the accuracy is no where near as good from a smooth bore.

How did you mount your utg red dot to the h&r?
Nice shooting at 200 yards. The inserts work way better then folks give them credit for.

this is an older video, the newer ones have 2 rubber rings that work as shims.
