One of the better reviews I've seen. Thanks
Thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and I hope you found it to be informative. Take care!
I have the rifled on in three inch and it is accurate to about 35 yd. So knowing what the smooth 401 does is what you demonstrated. Imagine what that was a rifling and the accuracy does.
@@andrewkelso3532 I have always wanted to get a rifled version and just never gotten around to it. I think this adapter makes for a good way to use your shotgun for a point blank dispatch on a trapline most likely. I am glad I have it but definitely hope to add a rifled version eventually. Thank you for watching and sharing!
Brother spend the money and buy the 8 inch rifled one works a treat and u do good videos
Thank you for the kind words and for tuning in! I agree that would be the best solution. Ray, the owner of Shortlane Arms told me that I would be much happier with that one. I haven't had the opportunity to pick one up yet but I would definitely like to work with it to compare. Take care!
i admit i fast forwarded about 3 or 4 minutes into your vid to the time i saw you turn around and face the camera. nice conclusion! (too much wind noise at the end.could have used some more video of that very nice firearm being fired rather than you backside.) really appreciate how you addressed the issues of rotation and smoothbore issues. (is it just me, or do the bigger channels avoid inserts?)
By rifle standards, the 8 inch rifled adapter seems to work quite well in terms of accuracy. Pretty much like carrying a pistol barrel for use in your break-action shotgun, and no less accurate than firing slugs.
you can see from the paper tears those slugs are tumbling.
2 things that improve this.
use a rifled adapter to create gyroscopic stabilization
and use standard or shorts because it's common knowledge amongst us aspirin and competition 22 shooters that high and hypervelocity 22 bullets are easily buffeted in the wind. High velocity does nothing to improve small game kills. The internal dynamics of the 12 ga barrel cannot be helpful either! Thanks for the review!
Great video..!!!...
+Corcoran AL Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate it.
I wonder how you can make a reference mark on the adapter and barrel for consistency. What could I use to do that? Ideas?
Good video. Poor product. Thanks for sharing
Yep not that ACCURATE with that adapter which is WHY I went on and invested the money in getting the 8 inch adapters in .22LR, .22Mag., .38Spec., 9mm, and .45Colt along with the handy black carry pouch to hold them snug as a bug and I'll probably go ahead and pick up the Stack-n-Pack set where I can shoot 20 ga., .410 bore/.45Colt and the .22LR smooth bore and all this will stack and shoot out of my H&R Topper Model 58 12 ga. single shot shotgun !!!! You just gotta love the versatility you can get out of 1 gun !!!! Now that minty single shot shotgun that was a Christmas gift from Santy Claws back in 1978 is just priceless and even more so now with the gun adapters in reality is perhaps a $800 dollar set up value wise that is but all in all PRICELESS !!!!
I have to think that the adapter is smooth bore, due to key holing. Also the gun has no sights AND using that adapter is just the same as using a $40 Saturday Night Special with a 2 inch barrel as the adapter is only 3 inches long of which over 1 inch is the bullet, which measures about the same as the pistol loading end to end of barrel. Not much of a test. Next time get a 6 inch adapter, rifled, and some sort of stable front and rear sights.
She's definitely tumbling
I got the 410 to 22 and the 410 to 9mm they look very cheap but they work looks cheap
