Awsome, matcaps FOREVER! Just a note, the Cast modifier factor needs to be set to 1.0 for a perfect sphere.

I was just looking up how to do this in Blender for Plasticity and you go ahead and publish an addon for it. I'm going to buy it. I would really like an option to add a Matcap as a Favourite to go back and iterate variations in Blender. Is the resolution set buy Blenders default render resolution?
Noted I have a white board full of feature ideas for the next iteration, and I have something similar on there! So stay tuned! :)
@@takerefuge3d Just bought and installed it...works brilliantly! You might want to add the Plasticity matcap folder address in your FAQ/Documentation section on Blender Market. I was unaware you could create your own matcaps folder in Plasticity. I only figured it out from your video. For anyone reading this, it's C:\Users\YourName\.plasticity\matcaps

Yeah I think it's different for Linux pc and Mac.
This should work for other software like zbrush etc as well that supports matcaps from a file directory you can also use your Plasticity directory to install them into blender directly to save on space
