    if its a subscription I'm sticking with nomad sculpt, if its a one time payment it better be reasonable and have some kind of feature that nomad doesn't have. Thanks for the vid.

      I agree I'll likely buy a couple of months to cover it, if it's any good and the pc subscription comes with ipad access then it might be appealing to renew my zbrush subscription which I cancelled on favour of nomad and Blender recently

      Literally ZERO chance it is not going to be a subscription. Like none.

    There’s several things that zbrush has that nomad doesn’t, like rigging and ray traced ambient accolusion for rendering. I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do on the iPad. Hopefully they keep those features

    I’m with you. Couldn’t be more excited. I actually went into the sub for about a year with all the great progress they were making but nomad has been my go to for about six months because I can sit with my wife and be present! Will jump right back into the sub when it is ready!

      @@takerefuge3d I was kind of hoping for a legit object tree so we wouldn’t need things like the transpose plugin but that shot you pulled sure didn’t look that way! Guessing those will be a sticking point. I have one I love for references that would be sorely missed as well that Nomad mimics well on its own.

    • @takerefuge3d
      @takerefuge3d  2 месяца назад

      Yeah decent parenting of objects isn't much to ask for really in the scheme of things

      How do you find it, compared to Zbrush for pure sculpting? I find it hard to dig up any good looking Nomad models when googling, so I didn't expect it to be that good. Am I wrong?

    • @takerefuge3d
      @takerefuge3d  2 месяца назад

      It's good but not as fleshed out as zbrush but really the limitations are the tools and the poly count which depends on your device, you can clone any brush to use as a starting point and I've managed to make pretty good facsimiles of my favourite zbrush brushes, I think not being able to find any good looking nomad models is not down to the software but that is mostly used by hobbyists its definately capable and performant software, there are some things missing that I used alot in zbrush such as panel loops etc but not hard to get similar behaviour using masks and extractions now. @@casperwermuth

    Do you reckon its cheaper to buy a laptop with a touchscreen tablet type interface with Z-Brush (even if there is no perpetual) or an iPad and this

    • @takerefuge3d
      @takerefuge3d  2 месяца назад +3

      The pricing isn't out for zbrush on iPad so can't really answer that yet. .
      I really like my m1 ipad pro and what it allows me to do, but it wasn't cheap and is really superfluous to my needs, what it gives me is freedom to do simpler tasks away from my study.
      There's 1000 ways you can rationalise any purchase, but it really comes down to do you want an ipad? They are still quite over powered for what software is available so there would be alot of things you can't do and nearly everything you can do with an ipad you can do with a laptop and a phone.

      I ordered my iPad Pro today. The new pencil pro combined with the powerful iPad Pro is worth it in my opinion. The only thing I hope for is that ZBrush will not be a subscription model.

      @@erwinmeisel2545 I was surprised when I looked up Maxon the other day and found it to be subscription on PC...
      At least Substance Painter can be bought on Steam.
      I've never used Z-Brush properly as my workflow didn't require it but it'd be nice to maybe model a hand or something different

    Nomad is great and available for android tablet. Wacom’s Movink is great as well which has nano texture glass, oled display and no need to care about storage and battery. Apple still thinks in an old way, making iPads more and more expensive, equipping old components, and covering up with a better cpu. Today I went to see new iPad Pro, then I went to see Xiaomi pads. Xiaomi pads have larger and better screens, lower latency pencils, free to download apps anywhere, and half the price of iPad Pro . I hardly have any reason to choose iPads.

      Nomad is amazing, I use it on my Ipad and my One plus android phone, I wish quad remesher was available on android if I am honest.
      I have an Ipad a wacom tablet and a Huion pen display all of which I use, I think Wacom pencil is the best in terms of how it reacts and the apple pencil is second but still probably one of the better stylus I have used,, Huion is great too but not as good feeling in the hand, Maybe I will do a side by side of all the tablets I use in a kind of subjective review. that might be fun

      prefer a neutral grey start up material and then when I start detailing I might change it up a bit or add ao, with nomad I've started sculpting with a white PBR material with an AO and curvature overlay with hdri lighting I quite enjoy that as I can get very accurate highlights if it's set up correctly
