Having started with KLLM Transport at their driving academy in Jackson MS and drove my contract out plus a little extra. They are probably one of the most laid back companies you can drive for. For the most part unless your dispatcher is just an ass and bugs you none stop like one I had a few weeks after getting my first truck as a new company driver OTR. I would highly recommend people look to join them over some of the mega trucking companies if you’re in the Southeast pretty much.
@@stevesliff it’s really not, I’ve heard some real horror stories about starting with Swift-Knight or probably the worst I had ever seen personally was Prime. I’m not sure what their criteria is to get drivers but it’s not much beyond can you move, breath and on occasion think.
Very nice! My congratulations and I wish you the best of luck. As always I look forward to the upcoming videos, they are excellent. Be safe and have some fun!
Very solid move in my opinion, kllm has been really pushing ecoshield up the last year or so, especially with where you live, can't go wrong with hazmat and tanker
I am hearing it's a good deal. We shall see. I will get at it after home time. Only had one load so far. Pick up and drop were less than an hour and a half. Gotta like that.
Congratulation! I just finished week 2 at the academy in Jackson, MS and the trainers told us of the hazmat group. Might look into it myself at a later date. Looking forward to see how it goes for you.
I have my Class A with Hazmat and Tanker. I only have 3 months experience with a tractor trailer and 2 years driving Class B Hazmat tanker. My question is about the Load Board and the selection of equipment, there is a 43' Container listed. Is this a Hazmat bulk trailer?
I am not familiar with any Load Board for KLLM. We get to choose our loads, but we do not have a board. Not knowing what you are looking at so not much of a help. Sorry.
Man I didn't even realize I saw you about a week ago in Nashville at a blue beacon.i watched yo content a lot before I came to work with them myself.wish I had walked up and shook your hand man
I don't know a whole lot about that account, but I do hear they run hard and get good miles. Almost completely drop and hook. Bump in pay over OTR driver. Thanks for stopping by.
I did the online course that is required and then the study aid. Took the test locally. You do have a little orientation when switching over, but its learn as you go with the knowledge from the test.
I agree. That's why I bought my own truck after I retired from teamsters union. I would never ever fall into a lease. And if he thinks kllm is a great company damn he is snowed.
Smells like clickbait...doesn't look like you are leaving the company...just going to a different area (10 second scan of comments) , hazmat...don't have time for the 10 minute watch.
I saw an eco shield truck at the tex best in Alice Tx.
Hope all goes well with your new venture.
Thank you for the kind words and stopping by.
Looks like following in your footsteps unintentionally, waiting on my lease truck with KLLM and working on my haz mat too.
Nice! Please keep in touch and let me know how it goes. Also, if you have any questions, pease ask. Good job! You will love the freedom.
Congratulations. Dedicated is always the way to go.
Yes, Thank you!
Great news Steve I wish you the best and be safe guy🙏🏾
Thank you! I appreciate that.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the validation. It really is not a bad starter company or one to stay at.

How is the Kraft Dedicated Account?
I don't know a whole lot about that account, but I do hear they run hard and get good miles. Almost completely drop and hook. Bump in pay over OTR driver. Thanks for stopping by.
I’m surprised you lasted as long as you did! Lease purchase suck!
LOL. Still the same lease, different division- more pay and more consistent pay and miles. Thanks for coming back.
Think that bridge in Corpus will ever be completed? 🤔
LOL. Sore talking point in this town.
When you do join the hazmat team do they train you?

Hey Steve I’m starting the academy in Jackson Monday
Nice Marcus! Keep us posted on the progress and your thoughts of the class.
Well I did it man go to orientation next week ,main thing I can say listen to your instructors . Life is good
@@MarcusJenkins-ju8hm Nice! I am in Jackson for the weekend. If you have class Saturday say hi.
I went home for the weekend , I’ll be back Sunday afternoon
@@MarcusJenkins-ju8hm Cool. I should be here still.
What are you guys governed at?
For Lease trucks its, 68 on the pedal and 70 Cruise.
@@stevesliff thanks for the reply! I start as a company driver next week and was curious. What is the company side set to?
@@dannylatham1017 Company is 65 on the pedal and 68 on the cruise.
Idk you lived in corpus that’s where my family and I are trying to move to in the next few years
Moved from Ohio 3 years ago. Have to be on the ocean.
We all told you leasing is a scam
I agree. That's why I bought my own truck after I retired from teamsters union. I would never ever fall into a lease. And if he thinks kllm is a great company damn he is snowed.
LOL. Still leasing.
Nice! Congrats on the retirement and the truck purchase.
How u get that sticker? Ur own llc?
@@Austin.8150 yes. They will print for you if you have your llc paperwork.
@@stevesliff lucky u
How much more did it pay to haul Haz Mat
.11 more per mile.
@stevesliff what about company
They offered it to me but idk if it's worth it
@@llll-po2pf Yeah. Gonna give it a try. I will keep you all posted on if it's good.

This channel needs help.
Lots and Lots!!!
Needs more views. Much trucker YT content is kind of depressing. Steve is upbeat.
