Best thing to do imo is to get on a dedicated account. I’m at KLLM expedited and we do a dedicated account. We know what we will make each week. Just makes OTR much easier
I was told I am out of the area for dedicated. I live in South Texas.
How much is dedicated paying
I just applied to then yesterday as a new cdl holder.
Nice Man.... Let me know how it goes.
Thank you for the info this definitely helped me make my decision easier about applying to KLLM
Thank you. Let us know how the process goes.
Thanks again for another video! Headed to Burns Harbor the 22 of this month.
Thanks for supporting. Awesome to hear. Keep me posted on how it goes. Good luck!!
Hi Steve
I am going to join kllm next week for Midwest regional.

How much do you think you will take home in 12 months?
Thanks for asking. It's in the video. About 85k. Keep coming back!!
hey steve, how are things going at kllm, been a hot second since you updated. im close to getting my cdl. my school actually sorta screwed me over cause i had my test yesterday, got through the pretrip then the tester realized the school's truck plates were 5 months out of date. regardless though im curious how kllm is currently and if its worth contacting a recruiter, ive liked the company since i started school pretty much but i know at some point you mentioned them nbot really hiring
Wow. That would suck. Hope that gets fixed for ya. I absolutely am having a blast at KLLM. I have been treated well. Of course, like any company, there are things I would do differently, but not enough to make me upset and walk.
Hey Steve: What's your average length of Load? Did KLLM turn you into a night runner?
Its 53 foot.... Ha ha ha. Couldn't resist. It's on average 2-3 days. I try to run 3am-3pm depending on pick up and drop off appointments. I just came off a couple of days on midnights, but it doesn't happen that often.

Hey Steve, good to see you. Hope things are going better for you than your last video when you were broke down with flat tire, and your landing gear broke. Just wanted to wish you all the best. You deserve it. Your probably the most honest guy with your info. That's why I like you. Your honest, and noB.S. Take care my friend. Praying for you..
Thanks Stan for your support, kind words and prayers. God Bless you and keep coming back brother.

Lots of people hate driving truck...but do it to make money and then move on. Few people love their job...but do what they have to do for a short while.
That's why they call it "work"
Its not for everyone. If you love to travel and enjoy driving these big trucks. Its well worth it. You will handle the Trucking BS vs the unnecessary BS. I can handle the Reefer division better than the Dry Van division. Reefer is a match for me than Dry Van. Only thing i miss about the Dry Van division is more drop and hook. Reefers have more live unloads and Lumpers than Dry Van but i will trade not having to go back there to sweep out the trailer all the time. lol. Reefers to me are more job security when things are slow, food is always needed at any time. :)
@@NineballChris Chris, how long have you been driving? And, if you just got your CDL...where would you be looking to get your first job today?
@jl909-nr5vx I have 12 years experience. Greater Omaha Express is one to look into. I have heard good things about them. Free medical. No force dispatch. Any major carrier is a good start when just getting a CDL. I went with Werner Enterprises out of school.
Don’t get into lease program. You’re better off buying your own truck. You can set a better schedule. There are plenty of companies you can get hooked up with to pull their trailers and run under their authority. I would definitely stay away from any lease purchase
Thanks for the support and watch. Thanks for the comment as well. Would love to be in a position to purchase at the moment, but not in the cards at the moment. Baby steps.... Keep coming back!!
Don’t lease, not worth the headache… very happy as company but was a bit jealous of otr the last year. I went Dedicated for the consistency and worth the paycut, but net was still $1100+ thx to the minimum guarantee.
Thanks for stopping by and your comment. Drive safe driver.
Thank you for the update Steve.
Of course. Thanks for your support.
Steve thanks for the heads up I am calling KLLM back in may as per my recruiter hope to get on then and hope this trucking recession is over.looking forward for the next video.
Best of luck! Let us know how it goes. Thank you for the support!
It's a huge difference. 50%
You still have me thinking about KLLM, although I'm also considering a nearby trucking school, 160 Driving Academy, which is 10 minutes away from me. Otherwise, it would be Burns Harbor, which I know very well from my time with CR England. If I pulled in around $1100 a week, with the bankroll that I would have going into it, I think I'd do okay, as I don't have any ridiculous bills, just basic monthly expenses. So much to think about, but I'll figure it out. Thanks for making this video, I really do appreciate the information you provided. Take care, be safe!
we make 1825 a week company at KLLM for Midwest come here while the opportunity is still here
Awesome!! Glad I can assist. That's what I want to do is help the research folks. I know how hard it was for me. Thanks for the support and let me know how it goes.
Do you drive day and night
It depends on the schedule of your load. Some may deliver in the middle of the night at times. So you may finding yourself driving at night at times. For the most part, you plan your time and can pick when you drive provided you get the load on time.
I start the 17th of this month
Congrats. Keep motivated and don't let the negative get to you. Things are slow, but we are moving....
@@stevesliff how was the drug test? I don’t smoke or do drugs but just wanna know the process
@@locotv98 You do a Hair Follicle on the first day and then a urine test like your fourth day in.
@@stevesliff thank you
What was the gross for the 14 weeks before taxes or anything then I can tell what I would be looking at with my taxes
$23737.48. I only had just shy of $3K in taxes. Remember, OTR drivers get a per diem tax break each day for working away from home.
@@stevesliff how long do you stay out and how long do you normally take for home time
@@tybanks23 I normally stay out 4-5 weeks and take 6-7 days off.
@@stevesliff what CPM do you get for per diem
@@tybanks23 The IRS rate is currently $69 per day.
Hey Steve just turned 20 and have had my Cdl since 18 so have about 1 1/2 under my belt been doing research and will be going with this company when I turn 21. I also have a brother that is 21 but is waiting for me to hit the road! Ca you give me some information on the dedicated duos program! Thank you in advance!
Happy Birthday. I am not too familiar with the dedicated routes, but just posted some openings. I know they do pretty good, but honestly, I do not know where they exactly run out of. Recruiter would be beneficial for that info. Thanks for the support.

Are you otr?
Yes. OTR and a new lease purchase.
Is 55 cent a huge difference between 60 cent ?
It's $200 dollars on 3000 miles.
Do they still pay you when you’re on home time if so how much is it per day
And who do they have you fueling with more loves or flying j or TA
And do they give you guys chains or do they allow you to chain up for ice
Hey thanks for watching. Yes, you still get $100 per day earned of home time. Chains are provided and we use TA, Pilot and J. No loves for fuel.
Only time you get paid on hometime is when your on vacation,
@@Hobo4Life do you work at KLLM
@@Hobo4Life for KLLM? I am getting paid $100 per day for home time. Now you have to run 7 days to earn 2 days. So three weeks gets you paid $600 when you come home.
@@tybanks23 no I do not, however I do pull a reefer at a smaller company they treat everyone like family..average length of haul is 1,100 miles per trip
KLLM needs to add driver facing camera.
Hell no.
